Vermont does have River Otters and they are a protected species.
Loved the scenery of the aptly named Green Mountains. The cliff jumping alone in the woods a little disconcerting but it did look like fun😀

Cool to see the new Observation Tower on Bromley Mtn. It wasn’t there last year…benefits of a 2024 thru hike. You camped at the same spot I did near Gov Clement Shelter…great spot!!
The views on top of Bromley were pretty epic!!! The campsite down at Gov Clement was awesome, I saw a river otter there but I wasn’t quick enough to get a video. Vermont was a really pretty state, especially this section

Trail Magic for the Win! From Father Time!😊
Best chicken tacos on trail were the ones he made for us!! Father Time was one of the most generous and genuine human beings I’ve met on trail. I sat and talked trail with him for about an hour at the summit of Greylock in the warming hut as we avoided a torrential rain storm. He originally invited me to his home for dinner, but after finding out there were a dozen other thru hikers behind me he and his wife Evergreen set up an entire trail magic in the town for all the hikers. It was truly incredible because he hiked all the way down Greylock and set up trail magic by the time I arrived. He only left an hour before me 😂 truly magical indeed!!
Imagine how many hikers have stayed at Tom Levardi’s over the past 45+ years!😊
Definitely a legendary stop along the trail. Wish I had more time to sit and chat with him

What type trekking poles do you use?
I use black diamond trail ergo cork handled trekking poles. They have held up well other than some oxidation and I bent one by accident when I fell one time
