This Channel is focused around 3 tenets: Creation, Customization & Innovation.
1. Creation will very often take the form of DIY in all its forms, whether it be a project on the house or crafting something from scratch.
2. Customization will leverage the concept of making something fit within your domain. Very often, great things have been made, but lack a certain something to make it feel like your own.
3. Innovation is focused not so much on our channel bringing life to something new, but showing that it exists so that maybe it may impact your life in a meaningful way.
Above all, this channel is a forum meant for fun exploration in something new or a shared passion; either by the channel, the audience or both. This channel was created as a way to pay-it-forward, based on the inspiration derived from so many other content creators. I hope that you too are inspired to create, customize and innovate...to share with all those you know.

Disassemble a Mouse Sander | Hunting for Greebles
I think this may possibly be the smallest object I have taken apart in this “Hunting for Greebles” series. But it sure can punch when sanding those pesky corners that other sanders just can’t seem to do…..well, at least it did before I started wondering what was inside it.

I would add it to the greeblie pile and wait for it to find a home in a project.
lol. Yea, sometimes a vision of a bigger picture project needs to come to mind. Too often my mind goes to panels and more panels and if I can’t fit them in that, I just save for some future brain storm. That’s also why I love watching other people’s builds or comments in this video series. Because they open my eyes to what I did not see on my own.
A mini spy droid with the shell....This droid was designed by the Empire to collect intel and has the capability to cloak it's self into his environment, making it nearly imposible to detect or see. Only way to detect it is by setting off a low-frequency EMP in the area, which will glitch the cloaking device for a few seconds.
If there ever was a a game of “Greebles storytelling “ you would be the all time winner. I love the clever and unique uses for the Greebles wrapped up in a story that you seem to weave so easily. So Rad !!!
My issue would be to pull it up on those ramps. Too scared and I'm not as comfortable on a jack 🤷🏽♀️
Admittedly, yes, that can be a critical aspect of the job, which can be daunting if you have never done it before. This was my daughter’s first time. She was nervous, but did fine. I think a spotter helps a lot. But saving a few dollars on an Oil change isn’t worth damage to your car. So it may be better to take it to a mechanic. But at least you know going into it, what’s involved and how much it costs.
Interesting spaceship or landing pad parts in the case assemblies. the insides looks like regular greeblies to stuff in a spot of need.
I agree. Totally interesting shapes on the case side. In the inside it has very similar parts to things we’ve taken apart many times before…even though their uses may not even be food related. I find that interesting to see how the mechanisms and electronics are used in various devices
Did you do a tear down of a portable battery charger? Not the big metal ones on wheels but more like the version that can be stored away in a trunk. Also I recently did something to my door chime cover which most people have in their homes, just need to update the cover to my ring door bell to match. Great video idea.
Yes, I did a portable battery charger about 4 weeks ago. Lots of Greebles greatness therein. And I think converting the look of your ring doorbell is genius. Instead if people avoiding it, you’ll have everyone turning into it to check it out…and thus getting a perfect mugshot of qmy would be porch pirate
Neat. The shape of the top and bottom plastic shells give off a very Slave 1 vibe. So... a Firespray-31 landing platform maybe? Could be an improvised headstone for Jango Fett? ••• PEACES!!!
I am so glad to hear you say that. I can get a bit Boba Fett crazy and see it in everything. So I am not the only one that save slave 1 in the pizza maker. The landing platform is totally a great ESB touch (or episode 2 Jan go Fett scene). I love that idea. And I have never been one to shy away away from darker props (like my Skywalker hands display). I think the headstone idea is very clever. A little arebesh on the face. A few LEDs lining the edge of the top (maybe asymmetrically). Maybe some armor plating to match slave one. Awesome idea !!!
All kinds of good stuff in there!
Yea, a lot more than I expected. I like the canisters and pumps the most
Thanks for your video. It is far to expensive to pay to have this done at a dealership, or a quick change place. When you do it yourself you know it was done correctly, and with care.
Your welcome I too find that doing oil changes yourself ensure it was done right and at an affordable price. From all my years, I’ve found the simplest thing to keep a car alive forever is oil changes (and scheduled mx).
Thanks for posting this! I’m about to do my first oil change on my Corolla. I’m familiar with oil changes, just wanted to see how it’s done.
I’m pleased to hear it has helped you. You should find this one straight forward. No curve balls with this one
I agree with Aedo and you do get some cool stuff to take apart!
Yea, once I saw Aedo’s idea, that was the only thing I could see. He very clever. And thanks Shawn…I try to find cool stuff to share
The innards look like some sort of med tech bay gizmos or the beginnings of a bacta tank. I also wonder if the sensor could be repurposed for an automatic door.
The innards are what really caught me too. All the hoses and wicked cool canisters. The bacta tank idea is cool. I could totally see it as an access panel on the tank. Or a med tech station as you suggested (maybe even in aliens world with some cool emoticon stickers on it)
Tons of great greeblies right brother!! I would convert the main shell into intercom system "Phonebooth" located in a smugglers bar/cantina. Utlize all the interior greeblies on the exterior of the intercom booth.
Dang Dude, you are way too good at this!!! I love that idea. I was thinking merely as a background detail for depth. But that’s a whole prop. I totally see it now. Sweet idea
I love that heater filament. I woukd add that along with lighting to give it that extra look ❤
I agree Dave. That is cool. And if the lighting is strategically placed it might give some cinematic shadows…all ESB brooding type of lighting
#1 Either a small painting booth or a mini vacuum former....#2 A Star Wars Creature Habitat....#3 A Galaxy's Edge small creature spinning warmer.
Love these ideas!!! I could only think of an alien habitat like Tony makes. But drew a blank after that. However, I love your galaxies edge cooking roaster idea
Good job, but next time make sure the oil is not leaking
Leaking?
The two outter red shells can be made into a Space Cargo Fleet Ship....Thank you for sharing Garland!!
I really like that idea. Making a ship never dawned on me. I guess I’ve been trapped into the hamster wheel of panel making. 😂
The red housing looks kind of like a droid body.
Totally ! I see the shape of that droid in book of boba fett at the Jabba palace
That gear housing looked pretty cool for a communication or power coupler display. Now you have a few more M8 bolts for your collection. The hose is kinda short but it might have some uses.
I 100% did not expect the coolness within that red housing. The heat sink parts of the gear housing was one of my favorite parts. But so much if it was absolute gold. The spring assembly was super cool. I just need to get a good cleaner to get all the oil grime off. Then again…it might just stain the mdf in a good way upon assembly. 😂
Imagine placing an LED or RGB behind the lid slots. Definitely has possibilities. Almost looks better than the one you tore down a few months ago.
Yea, he one was an air fryer. I think led implementation would make it pop. I liked the cool depth the pieces did. Whether for a diorama or background piece in panel cutout…there is definitely potential. Wait till next week. I have an item that looks so boring…until you open it up. Tons of goodies
What size is the attachment you use to tighten filter cover
Everything I used is in the video description. Hope that helps
Yes it did help!
Is there a video of the break pads replacement for this car?
I’m glad. Have a great day
I have not done one. But I am sure there is one out there. If I see one, I’ll let you know
Those grills would look great on a wall with some wires under them!!
Agreed , I think that would be cool. I really liked that fan blade thing too…but can’t quite figure out how to use it without it coming out too mad max…and OSHA starts calling
Leaf Guard covers minus the mesh on them have a cool Death Star vibe. Or the covers that go over the long floor drains. If turned up and down they look like control panel cooling vents. I try to get some ideas from salvage stores in my town. Keep an eye out for the small shop heaters with the metal body.
Dude, those are all Gold ideas. I’ve seen some creators (even Star Wars…I think in a ship that drops troops) use them to great effect. I’ve taken a metal shop heater apart for this channel before. And you are 💯 correct, they are wicked cool. You ever post these finds? If so, where. I usually go to the fb Greebles page. So many awesome finds people show off
Ah! The almighty fan! LOL. good stuff!
Thank you Brian
Very cool buddy
Thank you James
How funny. My CAT power station just died and wont hold a charge anymore. Now to start dismantling it!
Yea, this puppy was brand new. So I’m glad it at least had cool Greebles. And Happy Hunting…I hope you post what you find !!!
I think the shells inverted would make you interesting areas to add other greeblies
Awesome idea. Yea, those shells are awesome. Great for recessed panels. Or nice bump outs if using just half at a time. Once the 5 ton battery was out, I thought it would be a cool trooper backpack. Maybe binge watching Bad Batch lately contributed to that thought. 😂
How many letters is taking oil with filter?
Supplies: Oil Filter: - Many can be used, but I used the WIX WL10514 from O’Reilly Auto Parts Store Oil: - Use a 0w-16 Full Synthetic Oil. - 5.5 quarts are required, but make sure you check your dipstick to ensure proper fill levels. First clean the dipstick, then recheck. The oil should be visible between the 2 round detents on the end of the dipstick.
@@garlandsworkshop thank you for this information , but i use 5w30 it good for 122F wether it good or can we use 5w40????
The manual says that for outside temps of 120 degrees, 10w30, 5w20 or 5w30 will work. But when the weather cools down, those may have too much viscosity.
Awesome tips!! I learned a few things. Cleaning old flux with alcohol and sand the tiles for diffusion. Gold!! ❤
Thanks Dave. Coming from you, I take that is big praise. Thx Brother
Had to catch up on Garland time. Just rewatched this. Forgot you did this panel.. awesome. I just modeled in Fusion recently for a commission.
I appreciate you taking the time to hang out and catch up on some vids. And thx for the praise Dave. I’ve been closely watching you remake galaxies edge this year. Love the attention to detail. You are rocking the fusion tools and 3D printing!!!
Thanks for letting me know about this
You are very welcome
Good tip on starting out budget friendly with the tool. I tend to go big or go home before I even decide I like the hobby 😂😂
Yea, hobbies…no matter the type can accrue big budgets. So keeping things in the low budget to start wasn’t always my Modus Operandi, . But it’s how I roll now.
I was kinda suprised to see how hollow the bottom compartment was but that kinda makes sense! Glad to see there was some cool stuff inside even if it’s just the buttons 😂
Yea, a lot of 1970’s and newer stuff is built that way. But don’t dismiss this beauty just yet. It has inspired me for not just one build, but two. Super excited on this find…more to come. Thx so much for this 💎
Another 101 home run!!
Thank you so much my friend !!!
Nice! Feels good to use some of your "collection" for a build doesn't it!
Yea, I seem to be more attached to items that I have sourced all the Greebles. Which is 90% of the time. This one was extra special because my wife found it for me. I’m pleased it turned out Now time to look for more to build from my collection
That came out great! My wife has a projector like that but would probably have my head if I touched it.
😂 😂. Yea, you don’t need to get killed over a projector …however, one long spa weekend away should afford you the time for her not to notice….yes, I know…I live dangerously. Probably why everything that comes up missing makes every project I’ve ever worked on as number one suspect to the crime
The only thing missing I feel like could’ve been done is making sure that the new filter was filled halfway with new oil before being installed, but seeing as how it goes in sideways maybe that wasn’t an option.
I considered that, but like you said, the filter sits awkwardly. And since I was sharing this to the internet…I didn’t want people doing that and then coming for me because oil spilt all over them or their driveway. 😂 Excellent catch though.
Just need to add some basic lettering on a few spots and some M8 screw heads for the corners. Glad to see you building something.
Yea, there is always more to add. Time to move onto a new project
I never tire of seeing out of the ordinary devices taken apart. There’s always something interesting inside.
It is almost therapeutic just tinkering in the shop taking something apart. Finding Greebles is just an added perk
Im a little perplexed as to how it is actually an H.U.D. but great build regardless, thanks for the tips in packing foam to diffuse led lighting, fyi you can buy clips to join them together so you dont need to soLder, yes I'm from Australia and we pronounce the L. It's not spelt sodder 😂 Anyhoo, nice work.
I’m pleased to hear you liked the build. And yea, it’s not an Earthly HUD so to speak…so thanks for playing along with the stretch of imagination. As for the connections, you are right of course. Clips are easy and provide a good connection. But like any maker…we tend to lean to what we know and have. I have friends who only use jigsaws for cuts, where I prefer table saws and routers. In another video u changed it up by using the Wago connectors in my empire panel from a water sprinkler box. It made for quick work. Thanks for watching. Cheers
In reality this is an advert and nothing more.
I didn’t set out to make an ad, but I can see how it can be viewed that way. However, as I reflect…the video short in respect to the topic at hand, it provided info and was persuasive in the value of purchasing things. Sadly, I get no proceeds from any purchase. I only offer this info as a means to share things I found valuable. Thank you for watching. Hope I sold you on the value of breadboard accessories. Was there a topic you would have liked to see or more in depth?
cha-ching!
😂
I know this is the wrong time of the year for most, but getting a hold of a small commercial room heater has a nice look to it with the metal housing and grilled exterior. Also I found that the packaging for some computer cases ( the foam packing) has some nice cutouts and is light enough to alter. I hope you never run out of greeble idea.
Those all sound like awesome finds. Foam packing is always a score. I haven’t seen a commercial heater, but I have taken apart a commercial building boiler. Way cool As for this one, ai already have ideas for a fun build…but may have to postpone that so I can finish the video editing on my current build I just finished. And as for Greebles… will always be in the lookout. However I want to present content that is ground I haven’t traveled already. So finding newer free things to take apart is more challenging at this point. But for now, my garage is full of a few more baubles to take apart and I will share soon
@@garlandsworkshop Yeah the foam packing that came along with my NZXT tower is interesting for sure. It's not high density like the pink foam stuff but has knock out areas where the case had access to the ports on the mother board and the front. Maybe if you know someone in a computer business they might have something like that around. One day I will have enough time to actually put something together, lol. Keep posting.
I have come across a lot of tv and stereo foam. Even though I purchased a sheet of XPS foam years ago….i keep using the EPS foam. Using grout, plater of Paris or even just by itself with only latex paint. I have a shed full of it. As of late…I just like using them to make galaxies edge type rock surrounds for panels I make. There really is no bounds to its use…only limits to imagination I guess
I seriously haven't seen your video notifications pop up for new videos, I wasn't sure what was happening with your channel but glad to know you are still around.
I’ll have to check in some setting to make sure the notifications are pushing. But yes, I am still at it. For the most part a video a week or two. Another electronics one comes out July 1st. And there should be a build video and another hunting for Greebles episode coming up very soon. And lastly, I post extra notifications on my Instagram and channel Facebook page for every video, in case those are easier for you and others to see. Thank you for watching and posting all your comments…it means a lot. Cheers
I think you found your calling Garland! This is great stuff!
Coming from a person with your credentials and skills , that is high praise. I appreciate it Dave.
Great video Garland!
Thank you so much Dave
Great video bud -you make it look easy
Thank you Kelly. I appreciate it
I still love this electronics 101 idea!
I’m happy to hear that Shawn. I plan on doing more of these in the future
So nice to see somebody with real workshop skills rather than dumb 3D printing for everything.
Thank you. I try my best to keep improving and expanding my skills in this relatively new hobby. I can see advantages that come with the 3D model, print and paint method. Maybe one day I’ll try to learn that, but the old school way will always be my first go to methods. Creature of habit I guess. I’m glad others like you enjoy it as well
lol hospitals are a greeble treasure trove. You wouldn’t believe the amount of plastic waste that comes from all the sterile packaging. If you can find someone who works in a hospital to bring you (clean unused of course) stuff you’re golden.
Thx for the information. I love using the limited medical baubles I have used so far. But, based on your info, I think I need to double my efforts to investigate more medical items. Probably need to find the right keywords for searching online thanks again !!!
Flashbacks to my basic electronics school. LOL. If you continue building on these basics, these videos will be very helpful to those new to electronics. Great job!
Thank you. The hopes is to create a thoughtful path that is easy to follow…even from episode to episode. But be succinct in delivery yet fun. These few episodes I have made have been the hardest to date because I want to earnestly ‘get it right’. Thank you for the feedback. It means a lot
