The beachside cardigan looks perfect for replacing an old cardigan I have that I always throw over my shoulders for works calls in transitional weather. I’ve been meaning to knit something to replace it for ages because it’s quite old and stretched out and too oversized to wear out, but I like the lace pattern on it.

Would love to test knit but don't have the yarn for it nor the extra to put towards getting it. Maybe another time. If I did could the stockinette version be steaked? I'm not thrilled with knitting flat lol

I'm so excited to try the mock cable beachside cardigan when you release the pattern! I've cast on several cardigans over the last decade but never manage to finsh any (so I'd never commit to test knit anything haha). But I bet between your video and the mock cable details, it would be able to keep my interest much better than the others I've tried to make

My sock finishing wisdom is to block the first sock and keep it around like on my desk, so I see it all the time and want you to wear it and finish the second sock. It’s the only thing that works for me 😅 Also I’m not allowed to cast on a second pair of socks if I have an unfinished pair. For sleeves, I got nothing. My three single sleeved sweaters still haunt me.

First, no guarantee this will be my only comment because I'm not even 8 minutes in and I'm already sure I'll forget if I wait until the end to say the things. 1. Love both of the cardigans! There's nothing more versatile than a solid color all stockinette v-neck cardi. And the faux cable one? I'll be needing one of those to be sure. 2. I'd be thrilled to test knit either of them. Tell me where to sign up! 3. I've crocheted since I was like, I don't know, 8? And my grandma always used acrylic, so I always used acrylic. And for some reason, when I crochet, I still tend to lean into acrylic or acrylic blends. Ain't nothin' wrong with using what you can afford/feel good buying. 4. When I first took a go at knitting (many false starts), I started looking at different fibers, and the first non-acrylic yarn I fell in love with was Juniper Moon Farm. Love. Love. LOVE. I've not tried their cotton, but it sounds like I need to. 5. Though I LOVE a great deal on a pattern with multiple options, I personally would prefer two separate patterns because the look is so different. Maybe sell them individually, and then a bundle of the two at a discounted price? If it were short sleeve with a long sleeve option, that would be one thing. But the pattern difference is so striking, I do feel like it's two different sweaters, and you should get compensated as such. 6. That tank is amazing, and it's going on my list. OMG, the FIT! 7. Though I'm not from Maine (California girl), I've lived in Maine for 8 years. Yes, to the lobster sweater. Yes, blue lobsters are a thing, but ridiculously rare, which makes your yarn choice even better IMHO. Keep doing what you're doing!

I love patterns with options because I am not super experienced so I usually do a pattern the first time with less wonderful yarn and then knit it again with dream yarn and all the changes and corrections from my mistakes. I love the Creabea patterns because they have so many options and I can progress and learn. The mock cables are so nice and I would love to knit them. I am using knit picks cotton merino now and I really like it. It’s DK or heavy DK and has been great for me.

For a thicker, lovely soft cotton yarn, I suggest Juniper Moon Farm: Cumulus. Ghe name says it all. It's the softest, squishiest yarn ever! It is 94% Israeli Mako Cotton and 6% Nylon, Worsted weight yarn.

I love the mock cables. Gorgeous! But the plain one definitely gives beach vibes. I think both on one pattern if it's only the stitch pattern that changes. I'd definitely buy it.

I would make a swatch to test steeking first especially with a blown yarn, I had a similar sweater body issue but I couldn't get the yarn to grip itself properly. In the end I stuffed the sweater body with filling and turned it into a cat bed so I could still enjoy looking at it.

Love the Beach Side Cardigan! I think the two in one pattern is a great idea. For a newer knitter or someone wanting to check fit- knit the stockinette first, for others go for it. I adore that mock cable ! Wondering if I could use a slightly lighter yarn weight in same gauge for an airier fabric - I live in NC so worsted would be just too hot. Would love to test knit depending on due date. 🧶

Such nice cardigans ! Definitely do a two in one pattern if you feel up to it, when it really is a similar construction with a twist on the pattern I do have to say I love having options in a pattern !

Check out the Lobstah Sweater by Whitney Terrell! It sounds similar to what you're describing with a lobster colorwork yoke!

Those mock cables are gorgeous 😍 If the stitch counts are the same, i dont think it would be too overwhelming to have them in one pattern. If that lace is changing the gauge and therefore the stitch counts, i think it makes sense to separate them

I would love to test knit for you. I have been looking for a good cardigan (that stays up on your shoulder). In my opinion, since one cardigan is stocknette and the other is a lace design, I would keep the patterns separate. By the way love “ Knitting for Olive”, and they do have a DK version called “Heavy Merino “.
