Had to get half size up
bought one pair of those, sure is a upgrade coming from the precision 6 i own. the ankle stability is crazy, they grip so tight around the foot, and the tongue doesnt go to the right side after a long session, great shoe man. i brought it for volleyball tho, thanks for the review, gave me a lot of insight about them. recommend 10/10 so far

Awesome breakdown and review. I really like what Puma has been doing lately with their hoop sneakers. Even just for casual wear.. they have been absolutely great. Comfort has been so plush, for me especially with the Court TRC. Just wondering, how roomy is the toe box area of the Nitro Plus compared to the TRC? The TRC I feel gives me plenty of toe room to wiggle and expand. I'm worried that the toe area on the Nitro plus might make my toes feel jammed in or compressed and narrow.. what do you say?
Glad you like the videos and thank you for your support! The TRC are a bit more narrow than the Nitro plus. I love the all pro nitro. Amazing shoe. Just make sure the outsoles are translucent!
I tried these on in store and they felt great. I was surprised at how much more comfortable and better for they were compared to the 20’s, which I purchased and had to return due to fit. I don’t need another pair, but at the cost it might be hard to keep passing on these. While you advised not to, 21’s have been amazing for me 🤷♂️

@@OldManSneakerReview out of the box as you said they where perfect. I play outdoor with them and they grip nice! the best thing of them i think is the cushioning setup and the way they hold the foot inside. My previous shoes where Nike Pg5 for out door and Jordan 36 which after playing with them a lot of time indoors then i played outdoors. The Pumas are feeling better from those two for outdoor. The only thing that they are worst is that they are heavier but not so much to feel uncomfortable.

Awesome review! This is also my favorite show as a old man. And I have two pairs 🎉 It is tight indeed in the toe box so I had to get 1/2 size larger. Have you tried the other version AMPD yet ?how do you compare it to the original? I’m debating on getting a third pair either the original or the AMPD version.

Thank you sir! Yeah I don’t get it. I think it’s like nostalgia, kind of like how people think certain older ways of doing things are better, but newer technology makes those options obsolete. For example - vinyl records, I’m pretty sure a sound lab can make a song sound like vinyl with the right speakers. Oh well. Everyone wants a Kobe for ground feel, not us I suppose. I played in my KD16 shortly after and it’s like walking on clouds! Thank you for your support and comments. Means a lot to this older hooper!

Funny you mention the KDs, I sent my Boardroom pair back and was able to purchase the Slim Reapers (come in tomorrow). I really have come to enjoy them like you said, although I’m still not used to the bottom loaded setup compared to the 21s. Regardless, my knees and legs feel just as fresh aa those so I know they’re working like you said! Please continue to do these reviews.

I find all the Lebron models very tight and uncomfortable, i tried the 21 and they were instantly killing my feet! I havent tried the nexxt gen tho, arw these better for wider feet?
Yes. The Lebron signature shoes are more sculpted and are in the shape of an 8 where as the nxxt are like a hotdog 0. More ovular. More space.
same thing happened to me when i was buying size 13 for the longest time (wide foot), i had to go to size 14 for this pair. it's not just tight, it's also short in length.

This shoe is a joke...It's just disrespectful how they "Tech"ed down the sequel like this.... no zoom turbo, inferior cushlon thickness... man..... the traction is a lllllitttle bit better but that's about it...

Very good question! I actually switched from these to the Book 1 in the middle of one of my hoop sessions and it was very clear that the heel zoom air unit in the book one was much thicker than the one in the Lebron. It was a different feeling, and honestly feel wise, I preferred the book one to the shoe. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that I think that the Lebron NXXT is a technologically and performing wise superior shoe!

Yes. The TRC blaze court are slightly more narrow (although wide) than the All Pro nitro. So stick with your regular size!

Fellow old hooper and size 13 wearer here. I bought the EP version of the Hustle 2 and have been playing in them consistently. This pair and the SPO Player 1 plus have been my most worn bball shoes of 2024. I agree with your accessment that this shoe needs a torsion plate and for the retail price, we shouldn't have to buy a separate insole...that being said though, I recently put in a pair of Move Game Day Pro insoles and now this shoe is by far the best performing shoe I've worn in recent memory. I've used the insoles in other shoes but it's wild to me how much better THIS shoe performs with that extra bit of rigidity in the midfoot. Foot fatigue after play has decreased too. BTW, the Hustle 3 releases next month and they didn't add a torsion plate AND they increased the price to $190 (for the launch colorway at least).

Every player is different in terms of what they need for their playing style and so on. I have had the GT Hustle 2 but i felt it was unstable. Maybe i do not have enough weight to get them going or whatever. But in my opinion these shoes do not work for players that have issues with their ankles, maybe a chronic ankle instability or a tendency for roling the ankle. The shoes are way too soft and too rounded on the outsides of the outsole to restrict players from roling their ankles. These shoes look awesome and i really hated to send them back. But i had to for the sake of the health of my ligaments and bones.

I tried several shoes - Lebron NXXT Gen, New Balance Two WXY V4, Puma All Pro Nitro, Puma Clyde All Pro, Adias Son of Chi 3 - but Sabrina 1 was the best feeling when first putting them on and they performed extremely good. Like i said, every player might need something different. By the way: great video!
Hey bro have you ever considered that these shoes might have been designed for players who don't want a shank plate? Some players prefer playing without one.
Perhaps but scientifically speaking, to protect the plantar, a shank should be present in a high impact zone like the foot in basketball.
Not in all cases, actually. There are scenarios where a shank plate can actually injure the foot/cause types of tendonitis, due to the stiffness of the shoe. Further, some people don't like the feeling of the shank plate under the cushion, especially when the cushion starts to bottom out. More specifically for people with low arches/flat feet . A shank plate can really hurt

Although the leather model (akoya) is more premium and I like the conchiolin model more aesthetically, in my opinion the best model for performance is the Tahitian, despite the fact that the upper is easily scratched as you say in the video. Tahitian size half a size smaller than the other colors. I am also an older hooper. Congratulations on your videos!
Saw this on 60% along with the Jordan 38 high on 50%. I settled on the 38s. It just felt better

Love these reviews for us older hoopers. You got me to retry the KD16 and really enjoying them so far. I thought I needed more cushioning so I went with the Jump 2 the first time I tried the 16s, but later realized I can get good impact protection without all that. I will say, I still refuse to play with shoes that are lower to the ground because I hate the feeling of a shoe bottoming out.

@@OldManSneakerReview I loved the Jump 2, and while they were bulkier, they get smoother post break-in. For me, the Lebron 21 offers about 90% of the impact protection in a less bulky low top form (again, not that it was a problem before but why not lol). Also, while I don’t remember having a problem with traction, the 21s are way better. Enter the 16s and I took the same mentality toward trying them again (if a shoe offers 85-90% of the impact protection of the Jump 2 try it out). Unfortunately the 16s are starting to feel a little lower to the ground in the forefoot than I am usually comfortable with but I will continue playing with them during the Nike 60 return window and see how my body feels.
