How about the sound, gears vs belts? Which is louder?
I think Gears are the loudest. Belts are in the middle. Hub motors are the quietest.
Hell yea bud, I ride a floatwheel and I love it
Dude! That thing RIPS!🤙🏽
It's alot to take care of but it is a blast to ride!
Thank you
Biggest problem with gear drives is them getting too hot and it also makes the motor overheat.
I have never had that issue with my Meepo Hurricane. There motors have heat sink covers that helps them stay cool. The gears themselves can get hot but that's were you need grease to keep the gears from overheating. If I do encounter these issues I'll have a video stating so in the future.
Welcome to vesc. Its awesome man. I have a xr build.
Mine is also off an XR frame. I'm planning on vescing my og XR in the future so I have a street/trick vesc and a trail ripper vesc.
How many miles did you put on this before it broke the first time? And the second time?
The first weld break happened on my first ride. The second look some time but it seems to be the risk anytime you are putting tension on the back wheels. So far with my third one it's doing fine but it's still a worrisome weld location.
How often and how much maintenance do you do on Helix and used to do on G series? Thanks
So with belts it's alot less maintenance but have to clean often and risk of the belt system getting damaged. Helix is gear driven. Still figuring out how long the grease is good for but right now I'm cleaning and re applying every five rides. With that said the Helix requires much more maintenance.
@@skatinggreen5621thanks! What about axle joints? My X4S is said to be serviced every 6 rides and it takes about 40 minutes to service it. And also I've never had any issues with belts there maybe due to lower spec ESC
I'm guessing that's propel x4s? Baja and propel have different frame builds. Bajaboards belt system design made the system vulnerable to dirt and debris. You mean maintenance on axel joints?
@@skatinggreen5621 yes, did you ever need to regrease them on G4? How many miles you did on it for the whole lifetime of the board?
@alenpln When it was the belts I only re greesed once or twice a year. With the gears since you have to re grease the system every 5 rides I usually just regressed everything.
Thanks for making this video. Been searching for this exact comparison
Happy to help 👍

Gonna be a pro someday

Yea…this right here! Is 45yrs too old to get in, lol. I need to research these boards but if i could utilize your knowledge and given all that you have learned in your journey and blew coin over, what board would you recommend for a coordinate dude that weighs 250lbs and wants to shred the trails at the Bird, Neversink, Mt. Penn & Blue Marsh??? Thanks in advance. Been a pleasure watching your vids, had no idea these existed.
I have my Facebook and Instagram links below. Will just make it easier for a discussion. If you don't have either let me know. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100053377298981&mibextid=ZbWKwL instagram.com/skatinggreen?igsh=MWR1dTVudHRwY2o3Zw==
Thats it, im ditching my Santa Cruz MTB for an off road eboard after watching your vids. Love the Bird! Live right by there
Definitely some good riding there. Awesome! Do your research well. I would write a small list of what you are looking for the board to do and find one that matches as close to what you want as possible.
Ohhh yeah, I definitely need one of these.
Sent you a link in the big woods video but I'll put it here as well. www.bajaboard.com.au/ There's also other brands like propel and trampa that are worth checking out.
You ever take that board the other way and hit the old paved sections of of the old six penny day park?
I dont believe so. The other way from the start?
Never seen that type of board, where can I get one of those?

Hello, Nice Videos. Sure! Can you please tell me which off-road electric skateboard brand and model you can recommend to me? I'm a beginner but still want to start with a decent brand. Meepo Hurricane doesn't have shock absorbers (I think), I really like the Propel Endeavor 2 GT. Of course, Baja is also an option. I still need to buy a helmet and some protective gear for my hands, knees, and elbows (if necessary). Thank you for your response. Your videos are really nice. It would be great if you could include the information in your videos, such as brands and names. Thank you very much.
Hey there and thank you. You do have a few options for off roading. Propel endeavor models are great boards! I've never been on one myself but I am in touch with someone that works for the company and know there a good board. Bajaboards are also great as I have one myself. Bajaboards require alot more maintenance but they have a bigger clearance then the endeavor. Your location will make a difference as well. Bajaboards are made in Australia and Propel has a couple locations but they can ship in the U.S.A. It's something to keep in mind for shipping as you will need to replace or upgrade parts in the future. A onewheel is great for both street and off-road options. Not sure what you mean by mentioning brands and names as all time trial videos titles as the brand and name of what I'm riding. If you do have any more questions feel free to add me on Facebook or Instagram and send me a message 👍. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100053377298981&mibextid=ZbWKwL instagram.com/skatinggreen?igsh=MWR1dTVudHRwY2o3Zw==
@@skatinggreen5621 Thank you for your response. I live in Germany, where unfortunately all types of electric skateboards are prohibited. I want to use the electric skateboard in Turkey; there are very beautiful places there, perfect for it in terms of surroundings and nature. The Bajaboard would be too heavy for me at the beginning because of the many maintenance requirements, I think. I will definitely buy the Propel Endeavor 2 GT, but unfortunately, shipping takes a long time and the shipping costs are very expensive. My English is not fine, and I appreciate you using a translator. For example, in your video, you showed gloves and knee pads, but sometimes it's hard to see the brands, especially with the language difference, which makes it even harder to understand. Some CZcamsrs also write the names of the products in the video or add links, which would make it easier for viewers. Thank you for your links for Instagram and Facebook. If you continue making videos like this, many people will watch them; you have the talent for it. All the best for now. 😎👍🏽
I don't know if the UK would be less expensive but evolve did come out with a mountain board model, worth looking into. I will remember to have better references in my product review videos. Look into some dirt bike padding. Any helmet works. Just make sure you have one on when riding 👍. Thank you for your feedback.
Good
Nice!
Bro, you are amazing! Please contact us, we would like to sponsor you a set of Gear Drive used for Meepo Hurricane.
Get it bro!!!!🔥🔥🖤🖤
What park is this?
Ephrata Township community park. Here's a link of my latest time trial there. czcams.com/video/2w6XE3bpspc/video.htmlsi=22X7dci8c3ctl2Re
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah
You go pretty fast on a skateboard.
Well it is battery powered. I do normally cruise around 25mph.
I have ordered my mine and its arriving next week
did you double tap the acceleration button for more speed
My speed and break is at max
Hey me again how does the Helix perform off road compared the G2
Alot better. You have more confidence hitting rough terrain without worrying about your belt drive locking up from debris.
After this Time Trial how do you like the Spline drive system?
I have the S2 Enduro with 10" wheels luv the Herringbone Drive not much maintenance involved Thinking of The Helix 4 but wheel base much shorter 3" Im thinking of the Gx4 with the bash plate to protect the belts and also the difference in legnth and different riding experience They also have switched to the Spline-Drive which they say is better than the dog-bone drive I have and I am in process of changing to the Helix The dog-bone wore out my Outdrives and pins would break and id have too much lateral play
Even with the issues I had with the drive system that day, I still think the Helix is better. Bash plate guard doesn't really help and rocks still get caught in the belt drive system. Helix 4 has alot of power! G4 does give you a better stance if you plan on not using any foot straps. With foot straps Helix4 will turn just as well.
Cool😊
which board do you prefer the g4 or the helix?
Helix. Simply because debris can no longer get into your drive system. I've had a handful of times that my belt drive would lock up from rocks jamming the system. The gear drive has more torque and power. The gear drive is a lot more maintenance though. Check out my review video about the gear drive. czcams.com/video/64MLCjhG7HU/video.htmlsi=yENb1CJHprWbWvPD
Commenting for support. I love esk8 videos!
I need a new padded jacket. Thanks for the video😃😃
How you make it
Make what?
Sick trail
It really is! You can check out the whole place in my MBT phoenixville tour video 👍
Phoenixville bike park!
Awesome place! I'll be back next year.
This would scare the shit out of me
Can I buy a board with the gear drive on it?
Yes if I'm naming it right I believe it is there new Helix run.
I was looking at buying one a G4x or a pantera?
I dont think they do unless they started recently. I don't have them on mine but I can get away with it having only rear wheel drive.
Can you fly on an airplane with a Baja board?
👏🏼
This was so dumb🤣you look like youre terrified of falling
Lol you got to get silly sometimes.
I’m still on the stock Vega but have an Enduro waiting in the wings. I also have the exact same set up, stock XR with a Kush Hi. Just curious how many miles have you been able to get on the Enduro?
I get about 10miles but I do think my battery is going bad as well. On a guess I say it might take about 5miles off your ride but if you are trying to ride dirt and street it's very worth it. I do plan on getting it vesced or get a cbxr in the future. Both options is worth it for more range and power.
I bet your farts smell like roses
Cool
This place looks sick
Dig deep. Push the edge. Be come one with the board and the carve!
