I just put a set of LED head lights in my 96 last night. Direct replacement no ballast and are ridiculously bright lol.

check Your water pump and if that isn't it then it could be a blown head gasket. Hope this helps.

Great job looks great! I do a lot of solder projects so I have a couple of tips for you. Next time use Flux and make sure your solder is leaded, it will make your life 1000000x easier. Flux core solder & unleaded solder don’t flow very well.

You mind as well have just wet sanded the whole truck , you’d have a better look , especially since you clay barred oxidized paint
