I wanted to share a technique that I have been recently using in my landscape photography edits that has really helped me better understand and control the lighting with my photos. Also, what bag are you using where you have the gimbal on the outside ?
I was using the PM backpack and there is a strap on the inside of the back that I made hang outside and just put my gimbal on it and it was perfect. The link is in the description if you want to check it out!

Why do you take photographs?
I want memories, but I'm also an aesthetics guy, so I want the memories to look a certain way (if I can help it). I wish the camera I was even smaller so I could easily capture candid moments without everyone realizing I have a camera.
@@Harvester88 I am with you on this one, i like the minimalism of a smaller camera but I am always worried I wont get the shot so I bring everything with me and only end up needing a 1/4 of it lol
Friends and relatives used to say "how do you even make a living being a photographer when everyone has a camera in their pocket?!" almost as good as saying "what's the point of opening a restaurant when everyone has a kitchen in their homes?!".

Man, I recently went camping and had a phenomenal time taking photos with my new Cannon R8. It was the camera I chose that was a compromise on price and features. I'm happy with my purchase but.... Damn decent lenses for this thing is expensive. I bought the 35mm 1.8f 'entry level' camera @ ~600 cdn, and during and after the trip I was just constantlyy lamenting that I didn't have a quality telephoto lense. It's really hard to justify spending more on a single lens than I did on my camera, but I missed what could have been some incredible shots of a couple of loons because I didn't have the right gear. Granted, wildlife photography wasn't my initial intention when buying the camera, rather I'm interested in learning / developing the skill of landscape astrophotography. That is why I decided on the 35mm 1.8f lens and Canon R8 as the most affordable full sensor / wide aperture combo, and they certainly work for that intended purpose, but... well let's just say graduating from taking pictures with my phone which was a 'jack of all trades' camera to thinking of photography as both a coupling of the lens, the camera settings, etc. it is certainly a steep curve at the outset.
I definitely hear what your saying. I find it amazing how photography changes almost on a day by day basis on the scenarios you put yourself in. I think thats why its so much fun to explore every "angle" of it because you never know what you like until you literally try everything. R8 is a great camera as well and honestly , having less gear can sometimes force you outside your comfort zone to try new things and push the limit, but then again, a new lens or body can open new doors and allow for an easier time of getting that "perfect" shot... such is the life of a photographer!

@@joshrathbun1 i got mine for the EF mount back in the late 90s when I first started photography and thought the focusing & focal length was garbage for photog.. in the 2000s when i got my first video capable DSLR the 60d i realised it was just as useless for videos. I know the stm one came out later but never gave it a chance cos of my bad esp

Can you imagine teamsters rolling freight wagons on that road with horses/mules that have a mind of their own and are prone to fatigue or panic, LOL? Not to mention the narrow road that existed back then, and wagons with heavy loads and primitive brakes...
I honestly am speechless at the fact they did all that with just horses and wagons and some machinery... those were the real deal men of the century!
