We had a Bobby Hull hockey game. What memories.
I'm sorry i was wrong about that date ! I mistook todays date as 5-20-23 😳 But the date of this video was "2-20-23" exactly 15 months ago 🤔
WOW 😳 I Live right across the street from where this video started !!! Today is "5-20-2024" This video was taken one year ago today on "5-20-2023" 😳 I found this by accident 3-4 minutes ago ? I've lived 100 yards away for the last 12 years come JULY !!!
can u smell the burgs??????brays my brother🍔🍟
I use to have this game but the Bruins against the Hawks. My fav shot was my left defenseman shooting on net...I scored so many that way. What a blast!
love your stuff......but please tell me what happened to gywnn dolestski....my love n 10th grade.......im71 now n looking for truth
Sorry, I don’t know who that is.
Always enjoy your videos of my hometown. :) I can't believe those homes that were hastily put up during WWII are still so functional. Impressive... Thanks a lot.
Fun to watch! Thanks. Go Zebras!
You rode right past my first employer in 1976, Plagen's Market on Wayne Rd. Haha... And Summer ice cream treats at the Tastee Freeze were the best. :)
Always enjoy your Wayne area videos Richard! Thank you. Has the First United Methodist Church in Wayne (across from the Post Office) no longer a congregation? Do you know if another church has now occupied that building and sanctuary? Thank again!
I think the church is permanently closed now but not 100% sure.
where you been bro?????
Just chillin the chill.
ever run into any zombies
I did pass one guy walking the path in the dark. As I passed him he asked if I saw a woman coming from the direction I just left. Said no and didn’t stop to talk. Not stopping for anyone in that situation.
I hope Yonn is not causing you any problems?
What a joy this video was, slow and relaxing ride. I subscribed
Just did a new video of the Christmas LIGHTFEST they have around here. It’s pretty good.
Awesome video
How’d you make the scoreboard?
3/4 inch plywood. Attached crowd scene from original game. In back is a sloping track that sends the puck to the box where it drops out to the track extending to center ice. Game also sits on a 3/4 plywood base and is anchored at each corner so it doesn’t slide around. I also made copies of crowd scene and added them. Score board plywood is also attached to base plywood. Base plywood has blocking underneath that fits the perimeter of table I use. It keeps the game from moving around.
I used to live on Alcona CT.
Nice video.
Way cool! And greaat music! Who is that first song? (woman....this is gobye...) (From the 90's right?
William Orbit ?
First song was WICHITA LINESMAN by Glen Campbell. Second song was PORCELAIN by MOBY, released 2000.
This is totally amazing that Westland Mall is still open to this day, especially as most malls have fallen by the wayside and are defunct!! I was a member of the Corp's De Ballet 🩰 in the Detroit Chamber Ballet Society and we actually gave a performance here in the mall on a Saturday n Sunday afternoon in the 1980's!!! What a grand place to still be open for the young kids of today to experience life at the Mall, which was a social mecca for us in the 1970's n 1980's!!! Attaboy, Westland Mall, for enduring the changes in society and still going strong!!!
I can't believe I just found this, as I grew up going to Westland Mall with the very first glass elevator and all the cool head shops n record stores down in the basement section!! I used to buy all my makeup from the Hudson's Dept. Store, n they had a very upscale women's clothing store called Winkleman's that my Mom had a charge card at and we bought fabulous original clothes n the coolest shoes n handbags too!!! They also had a Baker's Shoe 👠 Store that had the newest and coolest shoes ever!!! My Dad would drop us off on Saturdays n we would hang out, shop, socialize, for hours till we called him to pick us up!!! All the Hippies of which I was and still am a member of, used to gravitate there n you could meet the most eclectic n awesome cool people there!!! It was a different era, where you met people in the streets n shopping malls n parks in person!!! Oh , what a fabulous bygone era to be lucky enough to grow up in,!!!! Thanks for posting!!! It is a wonderful cruise down memory lane, over fifty years ago when it was the happening place!!! It's too bad kids nowadays don't have the venues we were lucky enough to have to learn n experience the world actually out in it instead of virtually like they do now,!!!! There was no better time than the 1970's growing up!!!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEO'S OF MY PLACE I GREW UP AND HAVE GREAT MEMORIES OF..
WAS THIS THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL I WENT THERE FROME K TO 6 th??
Yes. Not a school now but every part of it is used by a business or the Westland community. Quite a few events held there too.
I appreciate this video!! I lived in Wayne about 5 years ago and very much enjoyed my time there. I’ve also never been in that huge parking structure and never saw cars in it lol! Cool to see inside and see all my favorite spots! Was thrilled to see that China Garden is still open. They have my favorite takeout
Enjoy watching here from philippines
are you using dji osmo or go pro?
GoPro 10. 4K 60 frames per second
Love this video!!
love it. thanks for the view since I can't ride a bike or drive until medical situation improves.
10:10 This how a foreigner like my imagines the real USA to be like...
Great video! Thank you for always filming the rides and providing nice tunes during!
awesome camera quality
Doing 4K 60 frames per second.
Nice! Is this high school in the same sports league as Wayne Memorial?
Yes.
@@richardbrownfield5264 Thanks! I am a 1978 grad of WMHS. I thought it looked familiar... 🙂
Are you still using the pedego platinum
Yes.
beautiful
Great job everybody! 👏
Wow. Looks pretty much the same as it did in 1978...haha. Go Zebras! Still the oddest mascot name I have ever heard. Is that still a donut shop across the street from the school?
Chums was the name of the donut shop for decades. The owner died a few years ago and the building was vacant for a couple years. But this spring a new business started there. Unfortunately it sells tobacco products and junk food.
Nice to see. A fixture in Wayne for many many years. Thanks.
Very popular little diner in the 70's and 80's. Thanks for the memories.... :)
that was an insane comeback!
My son and I were watching Rangers - Hurricanes game tonight and I was telling him about these old games. I’ve never seen one in action so this was just great. And it’s my year too - 62! Thanks for posting
Sorry about some of the language. Never thought they’d be online.
looked pretty rough back there. Thanks for the view.
As soon as the mosquitoes hatch it will be unbearable back there without full body clothing and a mosquito netting hat. For map reference it’s located on the south side of the Lower Rouge River north of MARK CHEVROLET on Michigan Ave. That was once a park on Josephine St. but it was turned into a giant underground storm water retention tank a few decades ago. No longer Dynamite Park. It got its name because the city once stored their dynamite in a locked building there about 1900.
So jealous of your group bike rides. looks like a blast
Join a group near you, or start one. Most towns are starting up groups or already have them.
glad you didn't get hurt. Whomever planted those shrubs before the sidewalk did a terrible job with obstructing the view. Sidewalks are dangerous. Contact that apartment complex and send them your video.
Nice video... I had a friend grow up in a house at 2124 Ellsworth St., which was shown in this video several times. I spent the first 11 years of my life on Alberta St. in subdivision behind what was ten an A&P and is now The Palace grocery store.
I grew up all through that area. It could be great again! Just need more good people to move back in who care.
The city is slowly replacing the duplexes with single tri-level homes. I'd say in 50 years if they continue on that path, it's going to be a great place.
You were right in front of my friends house!
sure brings back a lot of memories - I lived on Deerfield Ct
That was fun to watch. I first played this exact model of the game in 1962 at the age of 9.
Very difficult to find this 1962 game nowadays. Most people bought the smaller HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA version.
Is that an app that tells you your average speed and distance?
Yes, CYCLEMETER downloaded to my phone.
can we see the pics of your bike and your favorite accessories
Using a GOPRO 10 BLACK camera with a GoPro handlebar mount, a CELTIC BLU Bluetooth player (sitting in a water bottle cage) with my iPhone music playlist and a CYCLEMETER app downloaded to the phone.
That's awesome I have a little over 600 miles on my platinum, you?
3300 miles.
