Interesting game, very ambitious. Seems like it would have fit right at home on 8bit home computers, and definitionally something I would have absolutely loved as a kid.
This game Bro I played it so much as a kid
Promo-SM 🙃
Also, where did you get the replacement game shell from?
Hey 🙂 All of the info is in description under the full video. czcams.com/video/Swk-znaENe0/video.html
How did you make the label?
Thank you for the great vibes! ⭐
Thanks for featuring this! Small correction, this game is Pocket Racing, not Pocket Racer; the latter was an arcade title.
Oops! Thank you so much for the correction! I corrected the title of the video.
4:27 has gotta be my favorite part. "Charmeleon, WARTORTLE, Mewtwo, Tentacruel, AERODACTYL!!!" 📢🔥
Hey David. Thanks for the gameplay and commentary! I played a little bit myself. I hope you don't mind, I actually made a short review of this game for one of my youtube videos and used a bit of your gameplay content. -Matt

I wish they kept making every zelda cartridge gold tbh, wouldve been cool asf.
That's one Game Boy game that definitely deserves the gold cartridge.
Very interesting review, thank you! :)
The Wily Wars is so so, the game is 10 times easier than the Japanese original Famicom version...
4 weeks ago is insane. I just discovered this gba game right now. Is it just me or when she climbs ladders her sprite has a visible ass? Can’t believe they did this before 2b and Yoko Taro
😆 I've seen other people online say the same thing, so it's not just you. But by looking at a sprite sheet you can see it's her upper thighs. www.panelmonkey.org/html/lady-sia.html
@@drcouzelis I love having an answer lol. Appreciate the reply!
@@drcouzelis I am hard pressed to add the little bend over sequence at the top of the ladder, definitely definitely a pair of panties is depicted with a lighter color blue than any other piece of garment on her.
Where did you get this from? 🤔
The cartridge shell is from aliexpress. The sellers change a lot, but I assume they're all the same product. Just search for "gameboy gold plated shell game" or similar. :)
Literally this is what every non gamer thinks when you mention something about TLOZ franchise
Finally, the REAL legend of Zelda
I totally missed Mega Man having a Genesis release. I remember Sega Channel! I didn’t know anyone that had it.. like owning a 3DO, it just didn’t happen! 😅
El sonido retumba por mis odidos y los rejuvenece
Do you have to do this every time you play?
Sadly, yes. The Game Genie codes are only temporary. 😌
it sounds like the plexal basement
They used the same midi, this is on Kingdom Hearts Insider.
The narration pause should be a new thing in your Sam and Dave videos. 😂
"how do we know you're not looking" well also there's your glasses :)
That's true! 😆😅
I did what the songwriters recommended back in 1998 and a quarter century later I can still recite G1 Pokémon thanks to the Pokérap
Nice
no idea why would anyone use sth like this but man the bg music is ❤🔥
very cool why arch tho
I like the simplicity and control in Arch Linux, and that it always has the newest apps. I installed it 15 years ago and am still using the same installation with the latest software. Do you have a favorite version of Linux? 🙂
@@drcouzelis Newer software is sometimes good, there is too much update. i use mint, because it just worked, and it comes with good tools.
Charmeleon! wartortle Mewtwo, Tentacruel, Aerodactyl. Omanyte, SLOWPOKE! Pigeot, Arbok, that's all, folks!
Bug Bunny: uh doc… that my line…
I really miss a powerful program manager. Something mixing up Central Point Desktop, QuikMenu and Wayfarer would be great.
Right? I want a user interface that does what I tell it to do, DOESN'T do what I DON'T tell it to do, and is clear to understand at a glance. No AI, no stealing focus, no forgetting where opened a window last time... 😆
A Windows 3.1 Desktop Clone just isn't perfect without the Program Manager...
where's the start menu i run windows btw
YOU KIDS THESE DAYS 😉
the correct question would be "where's the program manager?"
@@markusTegelane too much bloat, i want the start menu
@@mnemonic6047 I can't tell how serious this thread is or not 😅 but for anyone reading that is unaware, this is a recreation of the original Windows 3.1 user interface, before the Start menu, taskbar, and desktop were made for Windows 95.
Popcorn Boss🍿😂👍
banger track
Does it work on non-arch systems?
Yes, I assume so. It was quite easy to download the source code and build it. :)
the program's creator (jcs@) intended it to run on OpenBSD, but will probably run on any system that uses X11 and has the right dependencies
i will put this on my arch linux thinkpad
Wow😮
I don't even bother with the palace guardians until I need the last 6 levels. Go into the palace, grab the item, move on. Save those free levels for the most expensive levels in the game. At first I focus on the sword level. I time the game so I enter Death Mountain at 4-1-1. This will maximize the number of health and magic refills you get while traversing the maze. You'll be kind of fragile at first but the first couple of life and magic levels will happen quickly. By the time you enter the hammer cave you should be somewhere around 5-3-3. Aim for sword level 5 as soon as you can, it'll make the Goriya's much more manageable. Once you're through Death Mountain and have the hammer you can pretty much take your levels as the come, the hard part is over. I still like to focus on the sword though as once it hits level 7 its got some noticeable power to it; makes short work of darknuts, goriyas, etc.
That's a cool strategy. It requires a lot of backtracking, right?
@@drcouzelis Yeah. You do have to backtrack to all the palaces but I need to backtrack to all the extra lives while I'm at it anyhow. Since the extra lives are single use, I save them all for the final palace. I go back to get those last levels, grab the extra lives, then head into the final palace.
People may not like it, but this is what the peak Game Body looks like
Ok, so, no joke, not being ironic or quirky or hyperbolic or anything, this is legitimately how I used to use my Game Boy in the 90s. Except I also had the light attachment on it too. Not even my 90s cargo pants could contain than beast. 😆
@@drcouzelis that's awesome lmao whatever gets the job done
How can you chose what your increase while leveling up? The only options I have are validate a random stat (life, attack or magic) or "cancel". How does it work? I don't want to mess up and cancelling a level up on my game. Can you explain please?
Sure! So, when you get enough experience points for a new level, the screen will pop up and allow you to level up. You can press the Start button to level up, or you can use the Select button to toggle to "Cancel". This will allow you to continue leveling up. When you reach the NEXT level up amount, the screen will pop up again, and you can now toggle between the two options and also "Cancel". This will allow you to, for example, focus on leveling up the "Attack" stat and skip the other ones, if you want. Does that make sense?
@@drcouzelis If I press cancel, I'll be able to use 2 points at the same time the next level I reach?
No, you can only spend experience points on one stat at a time. There's no way to use the same experience points to level up two stats at once. You can't cheese the system. 😁
@@drcouzelis Does that mean if I cancel a stat increase i'll just keep the experience points and thus reach the next level faster? It would mean that for two leveling up i'll just benefit from one stat increase. For exemple at level 6 if i don't cancel any stat boost i'll be at atk:+2 life:+2 and magic :+2. But if i choose to focus on atk and cancel every other stat boost untill lvl6 i'll be at atk:+2 life:+0 and magic:+0 but i would have spent less exp points to reach level 6 right? If I understand correctly this technic is only efficient if I don't lose all my exp by dying. As I die a lot ( :/ ) i'd better invest the exp points not to lose them. Right?
@@etheb3773 That's correct, with one exception: "I would have spent less exp points to reach level 6". It doesn't matter if you skip some stats or level up evenly, getting to a specific stat level will always end up costing the same amount of exp in the end. redcandle.us/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/zelda_ii_exp.png Even if you die a lot, there's still different ways to play the game. 🙂 Spend more time collecting the heart and potion upgrades early. The more you increase your Magic stat the more you can use the shield spell. And of course, the stronger your attack, the quicker you can kill enemies, which means less damage. So, you can try different things!
I played the other NES Flinstones game on my channel once. Never tried this one. Great video guys!👍👍
Thank you! 😊 I just watched your video, the two games really do look similar! czcams.com/video/Yqt8rnIaIUM/video.html
@@drcouzelis Really! Thanks! The graphics are sweet on both and very underrated.😊
Where could i get a gameboy
A Game Boy can be bought at a local game shop, or on websites such as Ebay and Mercari. The best part is that Game Boy units are the same all over the world, there's no difference between a Japan, Europe, or North America Game Boy. 🙂
Why have I never heard of Tetris DX; it seems cool
Yeah! It was a launch title for the Game Boy Color in Japan. It has some cleaned up mechanics compared to the original classic, and can save high scores. It just had one, glaring issue in my opinion... (video related) It's missing THE SONG! 😆
Grind those skulls n get a few lvls of atk. Skip the life n magics past lvl 2.. U should be atk 4 by the time u leave n hit that crystal for a full lvl 5. Grind out all the life and magic while getting through the next areas and castles, but always be ready for atk lvl up when popping crystals. U should be atk 8 by the end of 3rd or 4th castle.
Interesting
I would have loved to have this back in the day. Never heard about it until now. the Gameboy has such a huge library of games!
I had this on my Gameboy! Loved that music 🎶
