i use a mix of both at about 3/4 dark brown sugar and 1/4 white sugar. then i actually take my dough balls and dust them in white sugar before i bake them off. best of all worlds

Honestly first time I'm commenting on a recipe video, but these cookies were so good. I live in eastern europe so it's hard for me to get the ingredients also sometimes the cookies i make from the american recipes just dont taste good at all, so instead of brown sugar i used cane sugar. How I did the recipe: 4 tbsp cane sugar 2 tsp normal sugar Soft butter 60g yolk Vanilla syrup 11 tbsp of flour A pitch of Baking soda Cut up some chocolate I baked it for 15 mins (bc they were thick and quite big) in 170 °c

i quadrupled the recipe(8 cookies) here are the measurements *1 cup butter softened * 1 cup brown sugar * 1/2 cup granulated sugar * 2 egg yolks(or 1 egg full and 1 yolk) * splash of vanilla extract(1/2 tsp) * 2 3/4 cup flour * 3/4 tsp cornstarch * 1 tsp baking soda * pinch of salt * semi-sweet chocolate chips * bake at 350 for 8 minutes * sprinkle with sea salt

for anyone wondering about the egg, All she used is the yolk of one egg

I even tried switching half the amount for rye… and it was DELICIOUS 🤩 made it nutty and rich, perfect combo with the brown butter!
