I haven't seen this show in over 50 years. There were quite a few of these countrified shows in the 60s, and they were very popular, especially in rural America. When 'All in the Family' premiered in January, 1971, and then became extremely popular during summer reruns, they were all cancelled almost overnight. The executives at CBS hated those shows, because they considered themselves the Tiffany Network, which alludes to the perceived high quality of its programming. They kept shows like Petticoat Junction on the air because they did well in the ratings. When 'All in the Family' became a hit, and changed the television landscape, they used it as an excuse to cancel all of the shows like this.

This song is about all the people that go to Las Angelas and then can't or wont .eave because they want to be famous and be an actor or actress but they almost make it but never get what they really wanted . These people are stuck in their dream but are usually used up and abused by Hollywood.

Good guys, bad guys, hard times and good times but people from all over the world that came to this county to seek out life. work hard and enjoy their freedom.

Hi Kerry ... Merry Christmas in May !!! Very glad you enjoyed this episode of the Honeymooners -- I knew you would, and that's why I recommended it some time ago. I wholeheartedly agree with the poster who recommends that you watch "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart -- it's my favorite movie of all. Another great Jimmy Stewart movie is "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." And "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" (which also features John Wayne -- he and Jimmy Stewart are 2 of my 3 favorite actors, the other being Gary Cooper).

Classic Honeymooner used to watch them back in the 70s in reruns when I was a teenager. This was. a cute episode. If I may suggest, I would like to recommend to you that you watch the Twilight Zone where Art Carney played a drunk Santa Clause. It's a classic Christmas episode. You're so intelligent, and it's so great to see you totally enjoy learning all kinds of things. I think that hearing people around the USA say words or phrases in a different way makes talking to people more interesting and less monotonous. Some of the idiomatic expressions that people say in the South are so funny, and I think they are refreshingly unique and fun. Here in California where I live, people mostly say words and phrases the same way unless a person is from the South, East coast, or the Midwest and didn't lose their local accent. The good thing about all these different ways of pronouncing words is that everyone in the country can still understand them since they don't sound too unusually different. It's a good thing that writing words in English is uniform even though people can pronounce them a little differently. I have heard that English can be quite difficult to learn for people who have come from different parts of the world. Is that true? Anyway, you speak English very well, and you are so intelligent that you can learn things quickly. I have noticed that you have a really great focus on detail when you are learning any subject. It's a real pleasure watching your interesting videos and seeing how you react to different American TV programs (funny shows, documentaries, etc.), various types of American music, and videos where you learn various subjects. I look forward to continuing to watch your really great videos, Kerry. :)

If you go see the Queen Mary you should also visit the USS Iowa battleship museum not too far away. I know you saw the USS Midway aircraft carrier in San Diego so you would also enjoy these ships. I've been living in SoCal for 40 years and hadn't heard of some of those museums so I enjoyed watching this list.
