You trust in the good nature of people while all around you everywhere in the world is depravity, rape, torture, murder. While you are clearly accomplished, you also display a lot of weakness in your person, surrender type energy. It feels like you are blundering around, wondering what you may find. Why all of Africa? What are you going to gain in 20 weeks that you don't gain in 2, other than multiplying your risk exponentially? Sleeping in a tent in rural areas is f'n wild dude, really. Rape victims are often scarred for life and rural men have very very little outlet for their sexual energy, which, in case you've not been paying attention, is something many men can barely control. An outlet may be seen as irresistible, a once in a lifetime opportunity to take advantage of someone who is not from the community, and there very well may be no repercussions whatsoever. Especially if that person is no longer around to talk about it. I'm over 6' male, and have been attacked in multiple places around the world just for my camera, etc. Many many cultures completely disrespect women who do not understand the dangers of men, and as such blame the women for putting themselves in vulnerable positions, and thereby feel they are entitled to abuse such women, as they must be societal rejects who have no men in their lives who care enough about them to inform them of the dangers. Hell, they gang rape in groups for fun and make videos of it. How do you sleep at night? You must be completely ignorant of your surroundings, living in your own projection of the world, which is very very incorrect, I must inform you. Stay safe, Stay Alive.

Wir sind auch gerade zurück. Wir haben 250km pro Tag gemacht durch Schweden.

Also ich muss mal Meckern, man sieht in vielen Bike Packing Filmen Leute die schöne Touren machen und tolle Reisen und Filme aber das Equipment ist teilweise nicht gut gepflegt bzw. wird mit verschlissenen Antrieben und Bremsen gestartet und teilweise ohne dem Wissen wie man ein Rad mal grundlegend repariert. Das finde ich echt sehr mutig von den Leuten weil es doch auch zu gefährlich Situation führen kann. Ich mach hin und wieder auch Touren und zur Vorbereitung gehört für mich immer ein kompletter Bike Check und ggf. wechseln von verschließen Teilen. Dabei ist es mir egal ob ich 300km oder 1000km fahre. Für mich gibt es nix schlimmeres als unterwegs defekte zu haben. Ansonsten natürlich ein sehr schöner Film.

Aber hast du keine Kleidung mit?? Nur diese kleine mini bag? Brauchst du keine? Wie krass!!!! Ich finde deine Aktionen grandios!! Verfolge sie mit großer. Neugierde und Interesse und freu mich schon auf den film über Afrika. Du müsstest ja jetzt noch unterwegs sein

Danke für deinen schön gefilmten Bericht. Er erinnerte mich an meine eigene Fahrradtour durch Norwegen vor vielen Jahren, da kam ich, so wie du, auch aus dem Regen kaum noch raus. Bikepacking war damals noch nicht erfunden, aber ich war froh, ein sehr gutes Zelt von Hilleberg zu haben. Die Einsamkeit habe ich auf jeder langen Radtour genossen, obwohl du ja, wie man im Nachspann sieht, gar nicht alleine warst. Das ändert aber nichts an deiner Leistung.

haha nice, the extra cassette, made me laugh. but i understand it. the extra rack i dont know :D if you have all this, get yourself a derailleur... from other world cyclists, this is something that i often see beeing fucked up. and while at it a derailleur hanger. the lock, the rain jacket and the ground sheet seem a bit excessive in volume and weight. but other than that great setup

Ich hab sechs Monate in Ghana gelebt. Die Cuisine dort ist überschaubar, aber lecker! Probier unbedingt Redred, Fufu (am besten mit Erdnusssoße) und Tilapia (Fisch), am besten mit Avocado und Couscous als Beilagen. Wird alles mit der Hand gegessen, aber da dürftest du ja mittlerweile Pro drin sein. Gute Reise weiterhin! Viele Grüße aus Regensburg!
