Up and down the Outerlimits lineup, they hit it out of the park. I personally love the 36SL, or the SV29 that does close to a 100mph with a single Mercury 565 and a cuddy cabin up front.

this boat passed me yesterday going over 120 miles per hour or more.. Absolutely amazing!!! You went up the east passage yesterday 8/8. Could you confirm the speed..about 1/2 mile from Newport Bridge going south.
Well the world record of 180.47 is held by a 43OL with 2x1650s. This boat with its 1550s in operation should run about 170 +/-.

What's the advantage of a 50 footer vs smaller like 38 footers? I see the mega fast boats as 38'-42'.
Look how much more room is available with the outboards. I wonder if the engine maintenance and down time is reduced. If you had the cash could they install a total or 4 or maybe 5 outboards on it?

@@dieseldog00 It is. It can run four. Beam is 9'. The two most outer gearcases will be 6'6" apart. Not a problem what so ever.

I would say put three of the new V12 600s on a 44 but b/c they weigh around 1350lbs each, OL would have to get the weight balanced right which I'm sure they could do. This 41 could use two V12s to give the same h/p as 3 400s.
And they only cost $ 77 Grand Each

Those are not meant to go fast. They are for big heavy ocean going CC's and other allrounders.
I'm wrong about the V12 600 weight. They're 1260lbs per Merc. That's still quite heavy but they're being fitted on the big center consoles now. I've seen five on MTI 50' CCs and six on the HCA 65s.
@@dieseldog00 Still does not change the fact that the entire design of the lower unit and props are not meant to go this fast. There's a reason why ME, Adrenaline, Cigarette and Mystic won't install them if you ask them to build you a fast boat. And they take up a lot of space. A hull that will carry six 500R's will only carry four 600's typically. MTI will not run five on the M5200, only four, and it will be significantly slower than a boat with six 500R's.

For many years even offshore boats ... have used two-blade propellers ... and many studies have shown that theoretically the perfect propeller would be a single blade. why now everyone adopts five-blade propellers that especially in multiple engines ... being very close to each other, they steal the water with each other?
I dont think that your right! If you look at old Submarines you can see that in the 60' they started with this kind of Props. Silent and fast.....
You are definitely not a powerboater. For many years? People stopped running two blade props in the early 80's. There are so many issues associated with them. Vibration and harmonics are the two biggest. They shake everything apart, and engines have gotten significantly more powerful over the years. Also, back then even cleavers were ran deeper, which made them a bit easier to use. A two blade prop, even in a multi engine application, can best be described with one word. Dangerous. And even if you have multiple engines, you still have issues with harmonics, bite and slip. Prop design has come a long way, and even four blade props are long gone, even in multi engine surface prop applications. Do you really think that Bob Hering of Hering Propellers, Brett Anderson of BBlades or the late Dennis Cavanaugh of Mercury Racing fame would run more blades if it did not work? These guys are in it to win it, and what is used on these pleasure boats, is the same as we see in race boats. The only place you now see three blade props, are in Unlimited Hydro, some bass boats, some pad bottoms and drag boats. Even Champ and other tunnels now run five blade and even six.
