A very fast bike!I have 5 bikes, but none are capable of maintaining an average speed of 50 km/h! I am interested in the question whether there are carbon parts in this bike and what is the diameter of the wheels?Maybe 20 inches ?I would love to buy such a low racer, but I can't order one from Europe to Russia right now
Carbon parts: front fork, racing seat, rear wheel covers. (The front wheel is carbon composite, not real carbon). Front wheel 406. Rear wheel 559.
It would be a more complete comparo if you then rode a comparable upright bike to see what that difference would be at the same speed levels.
Yes of couse but I don't have an upright bike or friends with power meter on it
Can you tell me the type of the front fork? Is it a narrow fork or do you made another changes to avoid collision?
The front fork it's a carbon fork, the brand is "Beiou", a chinese brand. I bought it on Alibaba. It's a relative narrow fork and I didn't make any changes, I only applied a duct tape to protect the fork from direct contact with chain.
Baron low-racer owner, here. Thanks much for sharing all the tech specs! I love your customizations, and I'm considering modifying my handlebar, too. The original handlebar is not great. I saw your answer regarding the handlebar, and I think I am going to emulate your example, what a great job you did. Did you change your rear brakes because they were losing efficiency going downhill? Mine have this problem, and I have to be careful not to let them heat up too much. Lastly: I live in a hilly area, and I electrified my bent with a PHOTON Mid-Drive Conversion Kit. It's heavy but insanely fast, and I can take really steep hills now!
I didn't change the rear brakes (only brake pads). My modified handlebar is about 8,8 cm large (measure taken from the external parts of the barends bottom).
Super coool bike
That's how short people see over fences. It's a whole culture with pre-cut viewing patches.
It is a truly extraordinary individual who is able to summon more than about one quarter horse power, Quite simple mathematics involved here.
You are the MASTER! The control going through the town square with all the people and not offending anyone. I say again, you are the Master.
Thank you so much!! It was funny and not so difficult 😉. Thank you again, you're too kind.
Must have been annoying to put down those cameras turn around and go back to pick them up. Or perhaps he had someone else doing that.
It was hard!! I was alone and I had to repeat the same route at that speed several time with a different camera mount and position.
And I thought it's impossible to take a recumbent to the hills of Volterra! You've made me reconsider 😀
Will depend on if you as strong, he is a powerful rider.
I used to own a Baron LR 26" its on my CZcams blogs.
Very good indeed!!!
Complimenti Luca! Buone pedalate!
Grazie mille!! Buone pedalate anche a te!
Did you ever compare these figures to riding an upright bike? If so, what were those numbers, please?
I'm sorry but no. Strange to say, I never had an upright racing bike.
Still coming back to this video after three years!
You make me happy! Thank you
The route of your chain is very interesting. I have an optima baron, but i have doubts about this. Especially when turning into tight corners. Wont your tire hit your chain/dammage it/put dirt on your chain? Or maybe even damage your crankset?
The standard route of the chain is more practical but the dropped chain is for speed and race. I always ride in this way with no problem at all, just be careful not to pedal when turning into tight corners.
Nice bike. The only thing I'd question is the mirror. Don't having it that closer to the center on the tiller make it hard to see? I'd personally opt for a helmet mount myself in that case.
I'm fine with my mirror, it works really well.
Flat, flat, flat.
Virb Edit
Do you have any trouble being seen on a low racer?
I have no problem. Contrary to common belief drivers see me very well because my bike is an anomaly on the road and catches their attention.
Apparently not that much fun.
A lot of fun!!!
@@baronlowracer Sure, sure, sure... 4 videos 3 years ago. I bet the thing is sitting somewhere covered in dust right now. It's so much fun that you just can't even use it, apparently.
Post again my friend
I’m so sorry I never posted again!! It's so sad but thanks for your concern, it makes me happy.
I bought this bike but the power output to maintain even 25 km/h is way more than with a normal racebike. So I have the feeling that i have to put out way more power than with a normal race bike. What am i doing wrong?
Do you have a power meter? Your feeling may depend on lack of adaptation to recumbent bike. You need some time.
witch country
Are u going to make some new videos
You are very right, I appreciate your concern. In this period, unfortunately, I’m not riding my bike but I miss it!!!
How fast was he going? I'm a dumb American. Honestly, good variety of small videos of different conditions with extra on top of extra data! What I love to see :).
Hi, what front wheel do you have and where did you buy it?
Aerospoke. I bought it online
Where can I buy the bike?
Depends on where you live. Check online
Is it harder to climb hills on a recumbent than a road bike?
In a steep climb yes but it can be done very well if you have got a right type of recumbent
Would it not be faster if you had a front wheel drive recumbent with a short chain?
Unfortunately I have no experience with that type of recumbent so I cannot say for sure.
Thank you! I have finally found someone who can ride fast on the recumbent bike!
Do you know any company that rents recumbent bikes or trikes in Tuscany?
Unfortunately not, as far I know.
50-60 km/h is on descent?
You can see incline percentage displayed on the screen
@@baronlowracer but i cant see the descent, or hill
👍🏻👍🏼👍🏻👍🏼👍🏻👍🏼👍👍🏻👍🏼👍👍🏻👍🏼👍👍🏻👍🏼👍😁😁😎😎
I ride a touring recumbent and I love speed.
Is there still a chance to buy this one?
Only second-hand
I'd be interested to see a comparison with 1% rise/run up to 10% rise/run. So 50km ride with 500 meters climbing up to 50km ride with 5,000 meters of climbing (like Colorado where I live) Part of the issue is pedal watts vs wheel watts. Your power at the pedals may be 300 watts with output at the wheel falling to only 270, where a stiff racer would have 292 watts or more. This and the extra weight.
Velomobiles are not climbing creatures, but flatland
200+w for 50+ kmh? damn, im riding the wrong bike all these years!
Can you share your drivetrain with us? Seeing some stuff im curious about. Cheers!
See the description below the video
Thats with a mustache.
I bought the recumbent. I enjoy biking now. I offroad it sometimes and its a blast. Once I figure out how to pack on it I'm going to really hit the road.
Hi. Great impressive video. I love the speed you achieved with this setup. I have been thinking about buying a recumbent but I am unsure as to which one. I am 61 years old and the watts I produce are much lower than what you do. I have an average of 120 which very low. Do you have any recommendations which recumbent I should buy? My main reason for a recumbent is my back. I have problems bending on a road bike to be aerodynamic. I am having to ride an mtb more nowdays. Thank you in advance
Hi. Thank you for the complliments. A recumbent it's a solution for your back, that's for sure and you will enjoy your ride much much more. It's amazing in so many aspects. On the matter on which recumbent is better for you, I don't know, there are so many models and types, the ideal way to choose is to visit a recumbent store and try different bikes. My previous recumbent was an Azub, a very good bike for commuting and touring, very confortable, a lot of adjustment possibilities, very versatile. You may consider a bike like that or maybe a trike it's better for you. Let me know.
There are also electric assist recumbents.
lindos paisajes y muy buena bicicleta saludos😉
I was thinking about get a low racer. now i will derfinitely gonna get one . It's fast and fascinated .I couldn't stop Imaging keep puting 300 Watts on it how fast will it be. thanks for sharing !
Is there a difference in ftp on recumbent vs upright bike? Or: is 150 watts harder to maintain on a recumbent?
Since you cannot stand on the pedals, and due to the reclined seat position, it is difficult to put out as much power on a recumbent compared with your upright bike. Despite this lower power output, you can still travel faster due to the better aerodynamics. I averaged 211w to travel 43km at 46.7kph on my Cruzbike V20 compared with another guy on a TT bike who needed 286w to travel at the same average speed. That is a 75w difference, which is absolutely monstrous!!!
