I was born in 1958 and it’s safe to say that like every other young boy, Julia in White Horses was my first nascent crush. The sound of this song, which only accompanied the British broadcast still gives me goosebumps. Unfortunately the Austrian actress who played Julia, Helga Anders committed suicide at the young age of 38 in 1986.
I remember when we first got a computer (we were a bit late to the game in this family!) Helga Anders was one of the first people I googled, because of my happy childhood memories. According to the sources I read she passed from heart disease, very sad either way.
