Blackout Garage : DIY patina on a 1942 Chevy
There's a first time for everything. Got the opportunity to experiment and practice with this cool 1942 Custom Chevy pick up project. Pretty much focused on adding more blue to the patina look. Went in person with the truck to paint match it to the blue on the doors. Came out pretty sick !

Pretty a basic run down on how to start replace your alternator. A lot of my Audio was trash so I don’t have every single step but you will need extensions and a knuckle when getting the side bolt from the alternator bracket/housing. This was the FIRST time I’ve ever raced at irwindale so that was fun! Had a great time with the boys! Shoutout to my boy Oscar for recording a lot of the races. Thanks to Mario, Angel and Jesus for kicking it 🔥 definitely look forward to coming out and racing more often. My car is slow but it’s fun as hell haha.

This is the most updated version of their original Performer carb that I initially had on the car so I can provide MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND OPINION on this product. Just a quick video of some fixes I’m making to the interior of my 81 Camaro. The panels are being smoothed out with sandpaper and body filler. The final product isn’t perfect but it’s definitely a Budget fix for now!

hey on your 2016-2020 camaro alternator video, I just wanted to comment that - that thing isnt an air pump its a diaphragm that vents induction noise into the cabin without leaking pressure. Thanks for the videos :)
This could be a very good video if the language wasn’t used. Some of may have kids or grandkids watching. So you’ve lost one viewer here. Maybe more wi agree that language don’t need to be used to create a great video.
An idea came to my mind is to make the 81 scoop door to fit into 78-79 it need modification but it will be nice to open once you hit the padel.
The white wire goes to the tach output, atleast on the 6AL I was working on the grey wire would connect to white on the adapter, the white on the 6AL is a points in I believe

Haven't been online a few years lol, but they lasted for a year, I sold the car since then so I assume good. The GPS sensor needs to be positioned in a good spot or it will jump around.

I had two bad ones out of the box ..Holley is absolutely selling garbage! Support is awful on this item.

The pcv valve should not allow oil to bypass it. You don't need a catch can unless your having engine blowby
Same boat as you stucky stuck. I've tried tach adapter red splice to msd box still nothing. Maybe both tach & the adapter wire needs to be splice into ignition box +12 ignition wire??

Dollar stores sell SS Wool next to the pot scrubbers cheap. Shove it into the can to increase the surface area of contact for all carbon, water, fuel, oil to grab onto and cool turning it liquid. Insulate this aluminum can from the radiator, block and especially the exhaust. Anything to cool it which increase condensation of gas to a liquid. It will work twice a good! DK, ASE master since 78, retired.
Yup. Cooler the better. I have my shop air compresser output going to copper coils that run by fans then another copper coil inside a beer fridge. Then the line goes into a water separater then the tank. I almost never get water in my tank!
Dean, I understand your point. I have a 454 (496) in a 67 chevelle no pcv valve and leaking oil all over. Considering an oil catch can and pcv. Your thoughts, thanks Mike
@@Michael-Homerepair76 Michael, There are lots of oil catch can videos but, if able, mount in cool location to promote condensation of vapors. Then if hose is angled back to the engine helps recovery. I have a Tahoe LS and cam & headers only. I serviced the vehicle so I have history before it went over black ice into a tree. I ran the engine on a ground based stand to clean injectors, test compression and leakage. Passed! I bought a third valve cover to vent clean air into the engine from the top. Rotated the tubes to face backwards is easy, they are press-fit. Added 1" copper pipe under valley pan, drilled and full of SS wool, running full length inside held with brackets & blind rivets. It uses the small orafice principle to negative pressure in catch can back to manifold vacuum. Works great. I dressed the drivers side valve stem tip as each had a mild wear pattern from rockers, that can only come from the carbon deposits drawn into that cover. I was shocked leading to a catch can. So, Yes! (67 C10 4L60)

Thanks man. Had the same issue. Just had my air filter switched out and it started happening. I think the debris from it got into that drain when it was replaced. Thanks again for the info.

hi i have a 2013 mustang, my rear driver foot well is wet at the center corner, everywhere else is dry not sure where its coming from. Can these floor pan rust? Well removing seat alone be enough to lift these floor carpet up?
So you have the return line hooked up to the carb and not back to the tank?
Negative, I capped it off, on my new project I made sure to add a breather for the evap line on the driver side

Just installed a new Edelbrock AVS2 Carburetor in my 1984 Monte Carlo SS and it’s now a reliable beast. The Rochester Quadrajet was a gassy bogged down spark plug fowler that i am so glad is gone now!
Your quadrajet just needed a proper kit and tune up. It was almost 40 years old. I knew a guy with a gbody Monte SS that smoked the tires with 3.73 gears, but that was back in 1988.

Dielectric grease is not for electrical connections. It's an insulation barrier. If you end up with a misfire you'll know why.
Correct. Die grease is for the plug wire terminals or the boot connector to the plug not the carbon brush.
I did that to my car 15 years ago went to the track in the car slowed down I think it's blown the mixture away I closed the scoop up with duct tape picked up a tent

Did you check the pattern
With my original carb I was half throttle or more, with the Edelbrock, maybe a quarter throttle. I also noticed with the original, it sharply decelerated when id lift, but with the Edelbrock, she just cruises along!😁😁

What liter engine? Searching for a good out of box carb for my 66 T-Bird wirh a 390. Had a 4100 stock but looking for a simple bolt on replacement. Any feedback to share?
@@bayareakat66 mine has a 460. I installed a performer series manifold. But because your stock carburetor is a square bore, meaning that all 4 holes are the same size, and the new carburetor is a spread bore, meaning that the secondaries are a little bit bigger than the primaries, you might have to run an adapter plate. For a 390 I'd suggest a 650 cm. And you'll need. An adapter bracket for your transmission kickdown. The part number is ADL-1483. I also would strongly recommend that you install an in line fuel pressure regulator and set it to 5 to 5.5 psi. You'll be amazed at the throttle response, and you might even pick up some mpg.
You'll want to get one with an electric choke, and supply it with switched 12 volt. You can run a wire from the IGN. terminal on your ignition relay.
@@bayareakat66 with the Ford engine, you may not need the adapter plate, and most auto parts stores carry em, so just put the baseplate gasket supplied with the new carburetor over the stock manifold and see if the holes line up. I noticed that my performance manifold was designed for a square bore and the new cab fit like a glove
