5 Inch gauge 9f Locomotive - a walk around on bench test post rectification work
A short video of the Loco post rectification work being assessed by the Chief Engineer! We have had issues with the Die Blocks and the mechnical lubricator, this still needs some attention as after running with a load the Non return Valve is being passed casuing water to collect in the lubricator, I am also planning on fitting another Mechnical Lubricator to this loco to ensure a relaible steam oil feed to the pistons and valves.

A bench run of my Ex Winson kit 9F after replacing the Die blocks. The engine had some issues around the timing of the valves, this had been diagnosed as a number of issues and some are to be rectified during the winter 2024. The second run of my 9F locomotive in 5 inch gauge, ex Winson kit modified but very little used, this was the second time I had the locomotive out on the track, more jobs to do but its at least working. I will put some more of the loco and my workshop up when I can.

Hi Alexandre, well picked up, essentially the loco had an issue with the steam valves, this has been corrected and sound better in my other video. Thanks for commenting
Was the lubricator working? It seemed a bit stiff.
Hello, it turned out is was not pumping correctly, put a walk around video up after some repair work. The loco should have two lubricators but will need a strip down to fit. It's OK for now if you keep an eye on it!

Thanks, I didn't know there was such a thing as a rolling road (rolling track) for a steam locomotive. Is it an off the shelf part or did you devise it yourself?
