Should the late, great Steve Lawrence be cancelled for singing his part of this duet?

I studied music all my early life. Popular , Classic and Opera . I saw, heard and liked Oklahoma and Carusel . I was aware of and heard Gordon MacRae sing . Now for some odd reason at 80 years old I have just realized what an incredible talent Gordon MacRae was. HIs voice was a gift from God and Gordon was a gifted vocalist . I hate to use superlatives but I can't fathom how I didn't understand or recognize that when I heard Gordon at a young age , I didn't realize that I was listening to perhaps the greatest singer of that time.

Such a shame only 17 thumbs up, for the greatest crooner!

You might enjoy "Le Fiacre," as sung by Gisele MacKenzie. She was from Manitoba and extremely popular on American television, singing in both English and French. This song had been recorded by many singers in France but I like this version the best. By the way, it is a little bit (not too much) naughty but fun.

It's 2024 and my father still sings this song every so often. He is 83 years old.

Had to come back in 2024 just to hear the "master" vocalist show how it is done. To make a song "his" by truly giving your all, and understanding the meaning as written by the composer and lyricist as only Mr. Gary could do.

@johnnybrighton9156. My family and I saw a revival of "The King and I" at the Uris Theater in NYC starring Yul Brynner as the King and (as I recall) Constance Towers as Anna and in that revival production of the musical, " I Have Dreamed" was performed as a duet.

To me, John was the epitome of what a "vocalist" was! My Dad, RIP had us listening to his voice in 1965, on a GE all transistor console stereo. Nothing better. You couldn't turn it up because it would shake the house. I gave my CD of "Spanish Moonlight" to a lady friend who could NOT believe he wasn't a Mexican or Spanish singer. I still amaze people by playing him on my car stereo. RIP John!
