The 2020 Chevy 6500 dump truck is still broke at the dealership one and half years later. Chevy customer care refuses to buy my truck back and refuses to pay me anymore money for their pile. Their TAC engineers can't figure out the issues and the dealership said their are others with the same issue. Talking to lawyers now. Customer service is a big selling point in these $100K trucks.

Don't buy government motors medium duty truck. Here is why. Out of the last three years I have owned this truck it has been at the dealership broke for a year and a half. Thats 50% and its still there today. They won't buy it back. They can't fix it and I'm not the only one.

@@ctford27 Well it depends on type of hay and quality. Time of year supply and demand. Everyone has hay right now. In the winter people have less and buy more. So currently the going price is $40 average. Will be $50-$60 in later winter. I have Timothy alfalfa mix so it’s very desirable for animal feed.

@@jimprior5700 yep airframe and power plant mechanic. I did more than that. Chased wires. Run and taxi qualified on 3 airframes. Also was boroscope and Non Destructive Testing qualified. Changed flight controls and rigged them. 😎

I'm retired now but I was in the top soil hauling business for 40 years, I bought and traded for several trucks over the years, all were Chevy or GMC, my best trucks were the 68 and 69 Chevy C60's , the 79 GMC C70, and the 95 Chevy C8500, all are big blocks and air brakes. Around 2004 GM partnered up with Isuzu and their big trucks went downhill after that and in around 2009 gm quit making big trucks after obama bailed out gm. So I guess they forgot how to build bigger trucks when they started back up or their people left for other jobs. Good luck to you.

I will agree with you on stone driveways. Had my neighbor do my driveway she did a great job for me, but I got to find out how good my cable company buried the cable line. They failed, my neighbor dug it up like it was nothing. 2 day's before the cable company fixed it. Great video

@@Earthmover511 most driveways under 1000’ I charge $500 you could charge a bit more. These people all get fresh limestone over top so it added $1100 in limestone for 24 tons

@@hescominsoon I have considered that, but I tend to go the extra mile. Sometimes I wonder why when these companies don’t. If I stick it out and bite the bullet I can make some money back on this abortion.

@@MikeRoxly depends on the size of the tree. I have some older videos on here loading logs. If that’s your primary function I would definitely recommend a bigger machine. This one can do a lot for its size.

Just bought a kubota. Looking into starting myself..hopefully get into my own deal. Definitely would not rent it out. Mine burns about 1/2 gallon of feul an hour. Definitely would not buy a China cheep one. They might work. My kubota weights 3,700. I wouldn't want anything lighter. I would get a name brand machine for subcontractor work.

I grew my fleet to 5 trucks so far. Various dump trucks of different sizes and a couple service bed trucks. My newest truck in the fleet is a 2003 (all diesels) If one breaks we fix it that weekend in the shop and it send it back out in the field I strongly recommend buying older trucks that are easier and cheaper to work on
@@JBthelandscaper Cheaper if you can work on them. I don’t have the time or place to do that. I started with two older f650s they cost more than a payment on a new one for me. Then the cat engine went on the one with 50 k miles it was a salt truck before. That was it.
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer yes that is very true. I always have been around 7.3 and 6.0 power strokes so I was familiar with them and have stuck with them as fleet trucks and that makes it easier. I will say nothing beats a 7.3 for a work truck. Not the fastest truck out there but simple to fix and they are true work horses

Reading all the comments about GM, Ford, and Stellantis, it looks like there's a race to the bottom among these auto manufacturers. They are deliberately building crap.

The biggest problem is GM. They have never made a decent diesel in their history. . Retired mechanic here. The next problem is anything made after about 2006 to 2007. New vehicles are generally junk. They just don't last. Total garbage today. That's all manufacturers' kids.
Feel 4 u.i have a 2015 ram 5500 from New.175,000km. Allways pull n tri axel dulley trailer up here in northern alberta Canada oil patch.just regular maintenance. Original u joints n frunt end.im lucky.mabie that's cuz zero rules on emissions in alberta.delete all.most guys won't pick up there new trk till all that environment crap is gone

Rip the motor out and do a Cummins swap and take care of half the problem. The other half is wrapped with bow ties All joking aside new vehicles with all their emissions and computers have so many things that can go wrong with them unfortunately

I have a 2015 Challenger RT, right side vents go from blowing hot to cold then stay cold. Im thinking this is what the issue is? The left side is fine and responds to the digital controls.

@@Thedieselman790 it’s not downshifting, it’s a hybrid (no I’m not one of those. It has a generator for a motor that charges the battery bank. So you hear the engine turn on and off. Dont love it but it works. Used to drive 65mi each way to work.
I have always had better luck with GM trucks over the others and Ford has been king of recalls for multiple years now.

You've now learned that you should never take the lowest bidder based on "it's good enough". In the future, only go with the turn key option that doesn't require extra work or squinting really hard. The other guy's price is cheap for a reason.

@WorldsOkayestFarmer So you did miss my point. My point was, buy the final product, not the pieces to make the whole. It's a dump truck, yes? So why didn't you buy an assembled dump truck? You bought the frame, you then went to an upfitter, and all of this out of state? You didn't do yourself any favors for adding so many variables. Sure, it's ridiculous the manufacturer can't fix it, and somewhat crazy it won't buy the truck back too, but at least you were the one that went out of state and at least you said yes to a cobbled together truck in the first place. Take responsibility of that stupidity, learn the lesson, and don't repeat it. That's all I'm sayin.
@@RedRider-mb3wt I mean every dealer uses different upfitters. I was not involved with the upfitter because I didn’t have the knowledge at the time obviously neither did the dealership. The finished product is the same it’s the commercial dealer they used different upfitters to have different buildouts. I just built another the same way. It is so nice and a ford. A lot of these chevys are having problems because it’s an abortion from international and chevy. I bought my truck out of state new because it was 5k cheaper from being a left over from the year prior. I tried to deal with my local dealer but the guy was too busy to sell me a truck. They also are part of the problem now with the terrible service department. I’m not a Chevy guy first and last one. Just wanted the 4x4 and it is a nice looking truck. Even the problems were fine if they resolved them in a timely manner. I guess my only real fault was not being involved in the upfitting. Who would have known that you had to ask does the PTO work as a PTO should that is ridiculous. The dealer should have known as others do.

Why i bought an older non crusty truck. Gm/Ford /dodge with a diesel. Got a 2000 cheby turbo weazel k3500.
Sue them for Lemon law. They have so many chances to fix same problem. Get hold of Steve Lehto here on CZcams. He practices in Michigan, but sure he could steer you to the right person.

Chevy is just going downhill and can't fix anything. We bought a buyback 2021 Traverse after a dealer we used on our previous car that we had good luck with gave a good story about how they had fixed the issue and it was just an emissions problem. 12month 12k mile warranty. Just out of warranty Bam CEL comes on and its a emission issue for EVAP blocked. Had it fixed and chevy gave half credit after submitting claim. Now 3 months later CEL back for same issue. About time to fix and sell.

If you think your having problems now, just wait till it starts throwing SCR system malfunction codes at you, and the truck goes into limp mode, 5 mile per hour territory It doesnt take much for that to start getting into thousands of dollars in repairs
