If you wanna colour the signal use saturation/ distortion. You’ll be surprised how very little saturation compressors give, especially Digital compressors. Feed a sine wave into one and look how very little harmonics are introduced.

I've watched over 20 patchbay videos and this is the first one where I followed everything. I'm thinking about using a half normalled patchbay to link synths and pedals and still be able to record the dry and wet signal paths.

hey there! when you refer to “dropping the output level” of all the tracks on a collection of songs to a target level so they are the same perceived volume after you’ve done your limiting, how are you actually achieving this in PRO L 2? are you simply adjusting the output level in the bottom right? I normally keep this at -1db for singles, but is it fine for this number to fluctuate from song to song as you’re suggesting? thanks for the help

hit em harder. manley for example takes ludicrous gain reduction but stays clean, while the ssl will quickly get colored.

How do you connect the dbx to your interface so it allows you to run the vocal from your Daw through dbx? I have bumped into some issues with my SSL2+
