Front Brake Job on a Volvo XC60 First Generation (2010-2017) - Complete Overview and Guide
Mine issue is that I am having is I have fan on full blast. And it is very faint/suttle coming out the vents. I can feel the heat and the cold. But when fan is on high it’s not loud. Interior cools and warms but extremely slow
Sounds like a bend selector door issue. Cycle through feet, body and head options and see if the door inside moves and diverts air. If not it may be the door actuator is bad. That’s a big job. 😅
Do you have any advice for tinting these windows? I'm having some difficulty with the thick seals and trim and I'm considering taking them out to do it
I’ve tried a few times and given up. I would be easier with the glass out for sure. I’ve settled on paying a professional to redo mine
Just broke the serpentine belt and it got under the gear on crank...
ehhh, you should be able to turn crank by hand and fish out the debris,
Subbed, nice work!
That’s the green new deal 😂
Nice video, new info about those shorter outer bolts, .. that is good clean information and clean work, very detailed.
Thanks for the support.
I see you removed the cam pully, how bad is it to set timing on the vvt hubs if you seperate the hub from cam?
Super easy. Same as timing really.
Thank you greatly. Id been looking for this exact type of video for a minute now in anticipation of my 2.3t5 build. Nice clear informative video
Did this fix the issue?
Fixed. No code ever came back
I am doing my xc70, atm. Isnt better to put the sealant on the cover, really thin to make sure the squish out does not get in any of the little oil channels? ✌🏻💚🙏🏻
Good tip! Correct. Thinner layer would be better.
Damn this shit looks hard. My rad seems to be leaking somewhere. Already did so much work to it myself, this is another challenge
Yeah. Call the dealer and see how much they want. 😅. It will motivate you
Getting ready to do this on a T6 XC70. Appreciate the tips and tricks!
Hell yeah! can't wait to see that engine ripping at 18psi!
😂😂😂you just DGAF man
How did you drill it out? You skip over sooo many stuff 😢 you need to start video-ing the small details
Sorry. I didn’t cover it as I figured it was just my bad luck.
No, noooo, not the teaser video 😂😂😂 don't do this to us sir😂😂😂
Thanks for this video. Helped me swap the side light cover without breaking anything
I want complete wiring harness 2007 volvo s80 2.5t
Hello, I have a question: how can I obtain the inclination account? what is this connector mounted to camber plates
Is there a specialty tool for this?
Volvo has speciality tools for every job. 😅. Was able to complete with standard tools.
Can you share the correct part number for the reservoir tank please thanks
30776151
@@moosedroppings this part number will fit my C30 with the headlight washers correct?
@@waltervila33 you can double check on volvo's online stores, under the fitment tab: www.volvopartscounter.com/oem-parts/volvo-expansion-tank-30776151
You think this would bolt on B5244T3 ?
Man. Good question. I couldn’t say with any certainty. But Volvo is pretty specific with each application.
that paint job is sick man
That’s just the gears. The rest of the bay got an update a few weeks ago. Check the posts feed to see the most recent
Exactly the same setup on my 2013 S60 T5. I discovered I can feel claustrophobia in my hands, but still luckily passed this trial today thanks to your video! I also ended up cutting out some of the foam and going for the up and out. It's amazing how many ways it seems to be able to face in that gap before it wants to come out. The foam was easy to score with a knife and just pull out with its thin skin and fluffy backing. Good looks!
Volvo dudes have a sense of humour 👍
Extraordinary detail ! Super helpful !! I learned lots !!! Thanks mate . 👊🏼 🔥 🧰
Excellent, thanks. A ridiculous place to put a replaceable filter. Done in half an hour but not without some effort!
Yes. Correct. These is not a spring inside but the pressure moving the sprocket relative to the cams. Using the cam lock tool allows perfect alignment of the cams and then without pressure the sprockets should align to their proper position and only with pressure should they be able to adjust, so when the car is on and the vvt allows modification of position. I was thinking I had a similar issue as getting vvt errors but timing was perfect. The heads off again and we’ll be doing timing again and hope to have those codes gone.
@@moosedroppings Thanks for your reply. Spring loaded or not the uncertainty I have is as follows: camshaft perfectly in place (locked with the tool), camshaft adjuster gear marking aligned perfectly and matching the cambelt (it's teeth), however that moving middle part of timing adjuster has a limited range and maybe could be moved clockwise or opposite if is not locked (some of those have internal locking pin actuated by the oil pressure at the engine start otherwise remain locked (whole unit has no moving parts by hand so installation can't go wrong - is it our case?). If the middle part of adjuster is free to move then the whole range of retarding vs advancing will unlikely be within specific range. I am about to get there in my car to take a risk and check it myself. On one video a guy disassembled timing adjuster from Audi to show how sprocket can move although the middle part which is bolted to the camshaft stays in place so in reverse order when installing it would be possible that marking just shows sprocket's positions as correct, camshafts locked correctly but still system will be not able to move within desired range. I hope I share my confusion clearly. Have a good weekend.
Those gears are timing adjusters are not spring loaded and because they have the central part bolted to the camshaft aren't they supposed to be rotating and moving with the camshafts at variable angles because the oil pressure will work inside of the adjuster (gear)? Meaning - although marking outside can be aligned, the central part of the camshaft adjuster can be in wrong position so will be a cam and as the consequence not being able to move at correct and full range between retarded and advanced angle? Or that adjuster is a fixed sprocket without any moving parts inside? That bothers me a lot and I can't find an answer.
Thanks for the video, I followed exactly as you described and worked perfectly.
Nice. Love it. Glad you got it done.
Just replaced my ignition switch with a junkyard donor. Mine was twice the price at the junkyard, $40, but it still beats what Volvo was charging, $400. I have to admit I did doubt you thinking it was only just the dc motor. I thought it would be friction on the tracks or gunked up gears, but sure enough i swapped the motor and all is well now! Appreciate the video!
Awesome. We have the motor disable jack video coming soon which will Eliminate the entire motor thing
@@moosedroppingswhat is this??
Can I remove the rocker cover without removing the timing belt?
It would be better to remove the belt first. As you remove the cover bolts the tension on the belt will pull the cams up and put a sideways pressure on the journals
@@moosedroppings ok understood thanks
@@moosedroppings do you think I can use the cam locking tool to hold it down?
Does this turn off and on with car or does it need to be removed and turned off and on each time (wasnt clear if buttons were still accessible or not? Thanks 👍
good question, turned off manually since it isn't hardwired to car,
Very cool, thank you
Hey Moose, really like your vids I have a 2015 XC60 and would like you to tell me where under the car you jack up so you can put jack stands at the factory hard points (where the manual says to use the screw jack). Please let me know how & where you are jacking from. Thanks in advance from Calgary, Alberta
I use a standard floor jack and just go either right in front or right behind jack stand pinch point, I slide the jack to position and roll jack right next to it. It rides the plastics but no one sees that and always works fine
I have a 2.5t I’m trying to find the wright set of rods I got a set the small end diameters of 23 mils and I need a 21mm
Very good, thank you!!
how do i burp it?
For the most part these are self purge systems. The expansion tank is the highest point in the coolant system where the air will gather.
Im just starting my rebuild and this guide and video set are superb, ive watched the entire thing but one thing I missed is the piston oil spray jets, did you remove them? I cant find the torque spec for them, any idea?
Yes, we did pull those out, either a 10 or 8 mm I think. I did hand tight on those, but next time I am in VIDA I will pull and post the spec, glad you're enjoying, there are still 2-4 more videos in the series coming up, the head is back off at machining currently addressing some issues that were missed on the first pass, but hopefully we are up and running in a week or two and moving on the more performance upgrade videos for this car... brake upgrade, more custom electronics, more custom interior.... stay tuned,
@@moosedroppings Thanks Joel, Yes 10mm almost same bolt as the water pump, im gonna use thread lock on them though. Another thing I just realised I overlooked is I didnt buy new crankshaft bolts so its down tools for a couple of days, looking forward to further episodes of this awesome series its been a huge help for me to decide to go for it, Cheers Andy
Hi! I have a Kia Sorento and doesn’t let me turn off recirc when the A/C is on. Is that on purpose or there’s something wrong?
Can't say anything about KIA, but you should be able to run the product with ac off as well, really just trying to get the juice through the system,
ive read that thermoplastic is the preferred material. Neoprene is prone to failure..
Weird that others show a less complicated way to access the cabin filter from the bottom.
The OEM hoses for the oil cooler are SILICON lined in the inside to handle the extra heat. Thats why they cost more than a regular EPDM rubber coolant hose. I would not risk using a regular EPDM hose and cooking the motor when it blows. This hack of using a regular EPDM is not worth the effort, risk and cost. This hose is under the exhaust and is exposed to greater heat than the other coolant hoses so only a fool would use a hose that's not Silicone in this location.
Holesaw the top
Great series
located mine, disconnected, but it still stuck in its place. that would be a miracle if this is the case with my cruise not working. a little off top: wanted to ask somebody who has Volvo experience, I have a c70 2001, how do high beams supposed to work?
