Congrats it's so lovely a birth of a book is like a birth of a child beleive me tgis is what happened to me when i received my first children story and dad was so exciting to be the first reader abd my mom makes us a coffee, my brother brings the 2000 copies from the printing house, it was a family gathering behind my success as an author.

Really impressed publishing houses here in the arab country don't have these concepts to build a community to support authors and writers that's why arab authors don't profit from there books any penny once they sell it they took the cheap money which will not help the authors to live and goodbye for arab authors, they will be dead before living and theur writings in the drawers for eternity. Damm on us how we accept these things, for that i didn't accept to work with any publishing houses here.

I like the ambition tgat you have to launch your book, you remind me when i wrote my first children story, i was si busy and so happy coming and going with taxi 🚖 to the printing house as i am independant author. A comment on Rowling: The world is a wicked place, and anyone who would defend women and girls needs some moral courage. In my opinion Rowling has shown such moral courage by standing up to the popular bullies, whereas you are seeking to appease the trendy and popular bullies by throwing Rowling under the bus. No doubt you will continue to be surprised and dismayed to find that so many of your heros (the popular bullies) are actually villains. I'll bet you cannot even articulate what Rowling said that was supposedly so terrible. Not without repeating lies. BTW, I too stand with Maya.

A comment on the Gaiman case: Gaiman is merely exposed as practicing more-or-less what he preaches. He has long entertained predatory fantasies while rejecting traditional morality. Which is not a good thing when combined with wealth and power.. I suppose this does not necessarily make him a predator, but now that we know he is one,, nobody has any right to be particularly surprised.

A comment on the Monro case: She sure is no Marion Zimmer Bradley. She committed no sexual abuse; nor was she complicit, either before or after the fact. Her youngest daughter was 25 before Monro even found out. She committed no crimes. She did not even break any of the 10 commandments. Her sin is that she associated with a known sinner. Which, as I recall, was one of the charges against Jesus. What was to be done with Fremlin? If he was not be put to death (a question in which Monro had no say), then someone needed to associate with him. No 80-year old man is an island. If his own wife did not look after him, someone else would have had to. Who is better qualified t o keep him out of trouble than his own wife? So I don't really get the hand-wringing here. But it fits with a pattern I have noticed of certain progressives being very preoccupied with concepts of social contagion and guilt-by-association.

JK Rowling just has political views some don't like, Neil Gaiman is allegedly a predator (and if you read his works, the signs are there which makes it very hard to separate). Very different things.

at least with the gaiman stuff, it didn't involve children. a mother protecting a pdf file is one of the worst kinds of humans, like honestly

Picking up on your question about what content to make, looks like your high hitting videos are all about writing specifically. I clicked because I’m writing my first book and I’m always on the hunt for advice on writing for newbie’s. There are lots of book tubers out there so that may explain your lower view counts on the other content. What may be good is to take popular book you have read and do breakdown videos for first time authors to learn story structure, pacing, foreshadowing etc. hope this helps 😊 Adele

Thanks for this, it couldn't have come at a better time. My writing slump is pretty epic right now. I've had some feedback from full requests(rejected ones, lol!) and if I want to address them I'll need to make major revisions that feel more like a complete rewrite. I don't know about you but the longer I stray from my ms the more disconnected I feel to it, and now I need to ask myself if the book I wrote is still the kind I want it to be. I'm so looking forward to more writing vlogs, knowing that you're finding time for this along with the writing and the new responsibilities is really inspiring!
