I'm saddened to report that we've lost a @RawTravelTV & PunkOutlaw family member and a friend. I found out today that Alex Blue Morales of the band Normandie Blue has passed. Alex was one of the first artists on Punk Outlaw Records and contributed a lot of music that many of you will recognize from Raw Travel. He was a VERY TALENTED MUSICIAN and a funny, extraordinarily intelligent guy. We didn't hang out that much, but when we did, it was always a fun time. Alex was featured in Episode 110, Mexico City, where he guided me to the El Chopo Market on camera but also helped us immensely behind the scenes. Alex also had an amazing life outside of music, serving in the military, living in NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles, and traveling to Mexico, his love, often. He was a consummate independent musician, and I always felt he deserved way more than I could ever do for him. His talent was huge, just like his personality. We spoke over the summer for the first time in a long time, for over an hour. Recently, I had been thinking a lot about him inexplicably, which has me wondering if there was a deeper reason. There are too many funny stories and Alex anecdotes to share here, for now, but I'll simply say I will miss him. Personally and professionally. Alex - you will be missed, my brother. Sorry I didn't pick up the phone while thinking about you recently. Would have loved to have spoken one last time or helped you through whatever was haunting you if possible. But the memories we had... oh man.. should I put them in the book? Rest in Peace. - Rob If you are depressed and having suicidal thoughts, get off the computer / Phone NOW and call or text 988. Nothing is so dark that it cannot be overcome, and help is available. It is not weak to need help. It's human. It's why we're here, to help each other out.
