Thank you, Mat, for being the perfect host on this podcast! It was a pleasure meeting you. :) Your insightful questions allowed me to share my perspective as a nurse working in the USA. There are many similarities between our health systems and some differences I wasn't unaware of. Thank you for giving me that insight I wouldn't have had otherwise! It's been a pleasure chatting with you. :)

This is great. A lot to reflect on, I still ask myself where and why do all techniques fail when a doctor shows empathy and compassion yet only very few doctors will also end up with a lodged ECHR application at the end of their career while others might end up taking their lives? And that's real world stats. Despite having pushed away all thoughts of catastrophising, having then used all techniques, having exhausted justice avenues, until, it actually gets too late, career over. 'Systems' are at unfair and inconsistent game play. What happens currently with medical profession is not for the faint hearted. Thanks for this session.

This is such an important topic! Similarly to the importance of planning in advance for stressful situations, is planning in advance for crucial conversations! I just collaborated on an article about it with an ENT surgeon here in the U.S. - will let you know when it's published. Thank you for these very valuable discussions!
