    When Tommy used to come to Rhyl for the season I would always jump on this for the first test ride of the day. I ran the Ski Jump and then the Thriller on Rhyl Fair, but always wanted to have a go at operating the Barracuda but sadly never got the chance. I think he stopped coming after 2004.

    I used to work on these at Hull fair in the late 90's. I was in my mid teens. I was always in them to draw people in when there was a lull. It takes some practice to get the momentum without knackering yourself out. I would eat like a horse the week fair was in town lol

    My favorite ride of all time. I remember trying to impress all the hot chicks with my great strength LOL. I never had enough of that ride. I got all the way around two or three times.. It was so awesome. Sometimes I think about it at my crappy job. Those were the days.

    This is not about strength. Rhythm and teamwork (if with a partner) At 14 I could get this thing moving like a rocket!!!! They used to let me stay on for ages just o show that it was possible lol

    This was one of my favorite carnival rides as a kid!!! My 2 cousins & me would get that thing spinning over the top,round & round! We loved it!!! I think it was pure fun too bc there was no motors or anything ,so we weren't scared of it breaking down or something 🤣What a great memory!

    They were hard to get over the top! Always one of the guys who worked on them, like this one, making them go over and over again. They make it look so easy and effortless. A friend and myself managed to get the cage over twice. I was so happy, I momentarily let go and really got banged around.

    When I was a kid growing-up back in the 1970's and the travelling carnivals would pass through town during the Summer for about a week's stay at a time, it seemed that all of the local hoodlums and troublemakers always liked these manually-operated swinging cage gym rides the best. lol

    @lightupfun4972 Před 4 lety

    These don’t look familiar to me but neither do they look all that fun. No one in the video even came close to making it all the way around. Isn’t that the objective? Just looks like “work” that the riders have to pay for. Some fun. Should be free.

    Don'tcha think that this ride looks dangerous by today's standards. I would be a bit hesitant, looks like the cars just might escape from their holdings. It looks like roller skating in a big tub. Looks fun though. I guess you have to try out all the old rides before they go into museums or retirement. Like the old Tilt 'A' Whirl better though. This ride has never done the show circuits in Australia.

    Omg on Saturday 20th October the fair came and this ride was in the exact same place and I went on it and when I got to the top and it started to shake I was turning so pail and I didn't even know what was happening and I literally couldn't scream at all because I was so scared
