Earned a sub. Pretty sure there aren't a lot of resources that actually show how to put 3d into 2d out there. This was something i struggled (and gave up, after tinkering with it for a month a few years ago) with personally. Imma give it another go. Thank you!

This was really interesting and easy to understand, even as someone who doesn't know much of anything about game programming. Never would've guess that 3D models would save so much on file size, and seeing the relation between the different spaces was cool. The part about 2D textures on 3D models does help me understand better how it works when I do edits in games like Marble Blast Gold (All the image files are easily accessible pngs, making texture modding really easy lol)

have you tried seeing what shading the model smooth would look like? you just right click the model in edit mode and hit shade smooth.
