My best friend is an anime fan. While he still has several fine qualities & I respect him as a human being, I will never understand his taste in cartoons. In my book, animation as an art form died when Warner Brothers stopped cranking out stuff with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn...the classics!

Personally, I never really got into anime.

There's an anime, a verry popular one so popular I shouldn't have to mention the name, where teens are being bit in half by 50 meter tall naked humans, and Americans get their dicks in a knot anytime an animated character says 'Fuck'. Hey, 2 has his opinions and he has expressed them and that is fine. he doesn't like anime, so be it, more power to him. I'm just surprised he has that opinion, am I mad? no. because sure I'm pretty sure 2 would enjoy watching Bojack Horseman more than Me. and I fucking indulge myself in that show. I am to Bojack, as Jehovah's Witnesses are to Knocking on my Athiest ass door. So 2 if you're reading this and not watching Bojack, do yourself a favor. because that is the closest you're going to get to Japan's ballsiness without watching anime.

Haha. Anime isn't some genre that you can wave a blanket over. It's a medium. Some are shit, some are not. It really just depends what will fit your taste. Nothing to rant about except for the idiotic fans it can sometimes harbor (like any fandom.)

I loved Cowboy Bebop. I loved FMA. I loved Mushi-shi and Gankutsuou. I never watched much but I did watch a good amount. And I do understand how people tend to get butthurt over 2's rants and call him a nazi. His points weren't exactly valid ALL the time, we can see that. But when he came to the part "Oh you're watching *something that sounds Japanese* " I just laughed. I can't stop laughing at this guy even if he should offend me. That's how good he is. I can appreciate that. So I hope that one day, people will not fall into the trap of butthurtlery anymore (dreams...*sigh*). I'm pretty sure 2 knows some people watch deeper into the subject than he does but...enjoy it. It's fun if you don't take it personally. Trust me.

Anime is great, but some of its awful

The only Anime I watch now is Love Live School Idol Project. Nothing else. That'd be the only Anime I watch this year, because The Raid 2 is coming out.

No, I seriously want to know what anime he watched if it made him go into a rant. It must've been pretty bad and from eons ago if it's anything like he's describing it. It's okay that 2 doesn't like anime, but he doesn't really make it clear why. It sounds like its because of weeabos or some rabid otaku, which is understandable.

This rant makes me feel sane - I seriously feel like I'm the only person in the FUCKING WORLD who doesn't like anime. I really don't get it. I wouldnt mind, but it seems I have all the other attributes of an anime fan - I'm a nerd, I play videogames, I usually like most aspects of Japanese and Asian culture...So people assume I MUST like this cheesy, badly written, far-fetched, over the top horseshit as much as everyone else... Im not having a go, I dont think im "right", its just my opinion.
