    Just another update: 111,023 miles on the odometer. Absolutely no issues! I change the oil every 10,000 miles with full synthetic Valvoline 0w20. I'm still on the factory brakes! Thanks for keeping up! That was for you, My small audience. But I want to tell this Chevy Spark thank HER for keeping up! SHE NEVER LEFT ME STRANDED! Note: The MPG average dropped to 32.8 miles per gallon because I recently added Uber Eats driving in Seattle about 20 hours a week into my life. Still though, those hills, the constant stop and go doing deliveries for the last year, I cant get this thing to go BELOW 32 MPG ...ever! It's not like I baby this thing keeping the RPMs low either. I routinely see 4,500 RPMs as I'm shifting from first to second and second to third. Still 32.8 MPG!

    Just a quick update. Just over 77,000 Miles on it. Zero issues. Only thing I had to do was replace the Engine Air Filter, so I dropped in a K&N filter.

    Just another update: I have 68,607 Miles on this. Zero Issues and I'm averaging 36.8 miles per gallon. I drive about 70% highway and about 30% city. I usually do about 78mph on the highway so I'm NOT really trying to get great mileage! Around the city, I dart around without trying to get good mileage. I can't get this thing to get below 36mpgs.

    The Spark really could have been a much more reliable car if it was powered by the legendary 1NZ-FE Toyota engine and the four speed automatic used in Toyota Yaris and Echo in the last 20 years. Everything else can remain the same. They did this with the Pontiac Vibe and it had the same engine as a Toyota Matrix. I have a 2005 Toyota Echo Hatchback with 133600 miles and in good shape to do another 100000 or more.

    Just an update: I have 37,000 miles on it, and average 36.9 MPG on it. STILL ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES WITH IT! At the time it hit exactly 37,000 miles, I was still in the parking garage at Seatac Airport where I work, and the display actually said 37,000 miles and 37MPG and I took a picture of it. I gotta figure out how to upload that pic. Thanks for all your comments it means a lot! Oh yeah, my Spark's sound system DID come standard with tweeters in the A Pillars, my mistake.

A good car for local driving and Los Angeles traffic. PS. I do have OnStar/ Bluetooth. 2019 model moved OnStar to ceiling of roof. I work for gm and right now with the 0%. 84 months I honestly believe it’s the best time to buy. She likes this The Cruze And the sonic She wants the spark in the lt2 which is by far the cheapest for all the extra crap you get for payments under $200 a month. Thanks for the nice review, I appreciate seeing an honest owner review of this model, rather than all the dealer walk around reviews. I just test drove a used 2017 Spark LS today w/12k miles the dealer wants about $11k. It was an automatic (yes wish it was a stick) but still it was fun to drive and put a smile on my face. It seemed peppy enough and surprisingly a smooth ride and nice feel. I've always been a fan of smaller cars but haven't had one in a while. I owned a Fiat X/19, Honda CRX, and Miata in past years. I think because small cars let you feel as part of the road... kind of hard to explain. But this car brought back the memory of my first 'NEW' car, (a 82' Toyota Tercel, for $4998 new!) Way back when you could buy cars that were simple and inexpensive. A rare thing nowadays. I really enjoyed driving it and watching your review. True I won't be impressing my neighbors, or my two kids, but hey it's all I really need and I'm thinking I just maybe buying it. Cheers!

  • @redorange
    @redorange Před 6 lety

    Nobody pays $13k for a new one, got ours for $11k out the door new for an LS manual. The tweeters do work as the four speakers are the one in the door and the A pillar. Peak power is at 6200rpm but the torque curve is from 2000-4400rpm when it reaches the peak. It also has hill start assist when you are on steep inclines.

    • @KC-zl6dh
      @KC-zl6dh Před 6 lety

      redorange thanks for the corrections I did notice a little sound coming from the a-pillar. How do you like it so far?

    • @redorange
      @redorange Před 6 lety

      K C love it so far, only issues have been the recall for the air bags and the AC stopped working but it was just the switch and everything was fixed on warranty. Currently have about 17k miles on ours and I have put Enkei Performance wheels with 195/55/15 tires. We drove it with 3 people and 3 full size suit cases to Vancouver BC and made it there with more than 1/2 talk of gas left in the tank. Not bad considering it only has 9 gallons on the tank and we only had to do a splash of gas back Maple Valley, Wa. Once it’s going up to speed you really don’t notice the lack of power in the flats and it’s easy to go pass the speed limit and be doing 80mph. The only thing I wish it had was a 6th gear for freeway driving to get better mileage so it doesn’t spin so high.

      I just bought a new spark 2018 5spd manual. I paid out the door $14,400 tax and title. Fully loaded with 10 miles on the clock. I got it on a sale from $15,800. I love it! I have been getting 45 miles to the gallon. And it's just big enough for my needs, basically a work car. I'm still at 1500 miles and wouldn't wanna push it to red line just yet!! I actually feel bad taking it up to 3k rpm. But, now I see it can handle 6k rpm! I've missed a couple gears,by not pushing in clutch far enough. It's such a light clutch! But man it's a fun car to drive!!! I subbed! Hope you're car still runs great!!??

    • @KC-zl6dh
      @KC-zl6dh Před 5 lety

      @@kevinpeterson4098 The clutch is really light, but after you are used to it, the shifts are butter smooth. My Spark has over 30k miles and I have absolutely NO ISSUES! I know what you mean about "babying" the car at first when it comes to RPMs, but it loves to rev!

      That's what I'm trying to say, long as you are able to tolerate temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius or 86 Fahrenheit, you can save even more in Canada. We have very few days in a year that are over 86F so that's why we have that option. If I lived in Southern US I would definitely need the A/C. It's specific to Canadian market only.

    It’s a good, honest, simple little car with a low entry price and not a lot of useless crap. I’ve had the exact same car (with the CVT automatic) for about a year, and have been quite happy with it. A couple of other interesting features. There’s one power lock in the driver’s door only. If you bought it used, it’s worth talking to OnStar, they’ll hook you up with the basic plan for 3 years for free. Then you can use the MyChevrolet app on your phone as a key fob if you lock yourself out. The OnStar also includes a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. You need to get the data plan for it to work, but it’s only $20 per month for unlimited data.
