My mother name is maisha and my grandpa name is larry my brother is from haiti he said he was born there but i was born in amerikkka. "Kkk" my mom tribe is from congolese her name is even Congolese they the shortest tribe in africa , there are haitian people with congolese names that was born in america before 2000 year born modern day haitians . And another thing is that haitians were not identified as haitian until after the revolution Their race was their tribe first and still is and i find it sad that congo angolan people were the first on hayti high mountain And most darkest skinned people come from Senegal 90% of Haitians who are darkskinned and parents are darkskinned tall are senegal haitians specially men who have deep vocal tone Because the west is the hottest side of africa because of the direction of the Sun The 2nd group are igbo and yoruba and benin and they are mostly dark but light brown to lightskin and have very perfected forheads or thick eye brows and very rare fascinating eye structure and most haitians forehead structures come from skull shaping tradition alot of us dont understand how seperation is supporting satan and makes us weak The congo people have the same blood as JEAN JAQUES DESSALINE he was born in congo so when haitians say they not african thats seperating strength because french is slave master language The only way someone isnt haitian is if they have not one tribe who went their first I was born in America i run into many congo people with haitian names saying they are american walking around . Looking dirty poor and living very bad and alone and its sad because congo means to gather , gather is unity and thats what haiti stands for unity , lunion fait la force flag was made by dessaline so i feel like haitian parents did not do their job who dont care about theyre lineage tribe and truth and not live a lie because our tribe is our first religion. And its so easy to identify a Kongo haitian in america because they look exactly like the Kongo people in the forest . Kongo kingdom was the most richest kingdom and they are today but get robbed til this day and they are true ones who actually know how to contact their family members when they leave this realm And they dont wanna neglect their traditions because they know something we dont know So i dont claim as amerikkkan i find it disrespectful to call anyone black or american who has darkskin or brownskin because its common sense of what we come from Now if a person walking around claiming that they just dont know their tribe lineage i had to find mines . My aunts and uncles have haitian names and most of them are short . Just like kongo families but they have haitian names. So its interesting and it fascinates me to speak on congo because they were the first group who fought for hatitan freedom. 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩. But im not mad at no one because haitians wake up to chase paper and pay bills so most yall dont have time to read .

I'm a Haitian Chef and if only you were in my kitchen with me seeing my reaction to this foolishness. Sa sa yo t ap fe' menm: gentrifying and dumbing down a historic Haitian culinary classic to suit their sensitive taste buds. The editor should have called it something else and leave the Haitian name out of it.

This episode makes me feel the most connected! I'm a first generation American Haitian as well and growing up we just knew not to touch anything in the wall unit. Now I have my son, in his toddler years he use to through the beblou outside of my moms window when he was a toddler. He's now 7 and would never touch them. He understands how much they mean to my mom and even ask me why we don't have any at home. 😂

The chemistry between the 3 of you is so appealing. I absolutely love your perspective. The various aspects of culture that you bring under the lens are important conversations to have as we find ourselves living this dual life. Thanks so much for the heart you put in to the work for the culture!!!
