Hi, I have the same equipment and as you know the amplifier comes with a tuner and a deck connected with special plastic strips. My question is if I can connect a graphic equalizer and which are the correct INS and OUTS to work, can you help me please?

It's simple enough to understand: Barry Hearn and his son want as much money as possible, since they pretty much own snooker. It would be like ditching Lords or Wimbledon. The Saudi government wants to buy respect in the West. If WST depends upon the ticket sales for the World Championship more than the global television rights, they're doing something wrong.

if WST effectively move the world championships away from effectively Sheffield, then effectively there wouldn't effectively be a world championship, effectively...effectively.

You're a meter man 😅. All that matters is the sound. If you look at the back of speakers there is a bloody big hole thing woofer thing is it & a small & big one at the front. My tuner amp was bought in 1975 along with the Warfedale speakers. Warfedale was a small business in Yorkshire & their speakers were much admired. I get a lovely rich warm sound & I will have them till I die & I'm not that far away I can tell you young chappie.

Was this the first line of these compact Technics linear turntables? I have 2 SL- 5 and love them and now wondering if the J1 was the start of this style tt? These are solid made machines and they have held up all these decades. I had my first compact linear tt in 1985 and bought before I had a receiver and speakers to run it bc I thought it was so modern and futuristic. I think it was a technics or maybe an Aiwa and I think the clear plastic cover was darken half of the way or it may have been a technics SL 5 bc it comes close to what I used to have but the cover is clear. I would love to collect the whole Techincs series of these tts but I wouldn’t know where to put the all and in a very small apartment. But if I see a vintage tt price right, I will pick it up like I just did with the Technics DB20D that I had a similar on in the 80’s and was a great economical and reliable tt.

I have a deck like that. It plays and records absolutely great, very good sounding gear. L and R mic jack inputs can be used to connect 2 mics and make a stereo recording, not necesarily a single stereo mic. 6.3mm jacks is a good point, as mini-jacks are weak and not recommendable to use them with the kind of cable that a good mic needs. Anyway, for the best result an XLR connection would be the best choice to plug a mic in, but that wasn´t avaiable in domestic hifi gear. Regarding Dolby B, use it to record and not to play. Dolby C is not an option for me. Personally I don´t like auto-reverse decks, nor double decks. Recording a cassette from another cassette multiplies the noise by 2, unless using professional equipment. Nice video

This is a fantastic piece of kit. They really don’t make them like this anymore. They are bullet proof. My HD301 is now 23 years old and still going strong, used regularly too! As others have mentioned, the sound produced by this system is still enough to rival some modern mid range kits. Quality Technics engineering.

I have that model CD Player. There are several issues with this player which I have over come. Its better to use a white grease for the CD Sleigh that you use in lubricating 3-D printers gears. When I first bought my second hand one from the UK, It would only play for a few seconds at the start of disk before starting to skip and lose tracking. The CD Sleigh is belt driven and after years the belt becomes less tight. A very light dose of heat very quickly with a lighter tightened the belt. Or try and source new belts. When I heard the ticking noise it was the laser having a tantie trying to read the disc. This model does not like burnt CD's, results on burnt CD's vary from the band of blank CD's you use, from nearly playing a whole disk without issue to not even reading the disc at all. There are 6 trim pots on the side of the CD laser unit, adjusting these can vary how well it reads the disc and its very fussy on those trim pot positions. I know if you turn the first 2 trim pots to the right it adds gain to the laser making pickup of the data alot better. The 6th trim pot is very fussy on its positioning. Depending on the position of the trim pots vary greatly from being able to kind of read burn CD's and totally not being able to read legitimate CD's, to being able to read clean legitimate CD's with no problems at all from start to finish, but barely being able to keep tracking on burnt CD's. I only use mine with legit CD's and man its running fantastically (Only after alot of f**king around with the trim pots and tightening the belts. But these working units are going for 400 Euros. Changing the LED's above the triangular prism to slowly changing RGB Leds makes it look Sweet.

I have exact same equaliser on long term loan from a friend of mine. You're spot on , it improves the audio to the speakers immensely, really sharpens up the tones. Was extremely handy for me too as I'd run out of inputs on my amp , so I can route my Marantz tape deck through it. It's a classy piece of kit , and still performing wonderfully well 35 years on. I have found on my unit ( very same as this one) that it has developed a inbalance on the spectrum. I can't hear the difference but, i can see most deffo & i find this very ANNOYING!!!!!😠😠😠😠😠😠😠 I would like to know on how to reset the spectrum ( flashing lights) above the graphic equalizer. If you know how please do tell. Being trying to find the solution to this for quite some time ( but so far to no avail). 😳😟

Great review! I have the exact same model but it seems to have technical problems and i took it to a repair shop but he couldnt do much to fix it he told me. Now i am thinking should i keep the sh-8058 or should i buy an sh-8038?? Whats the difference between these two models? (Generally i have a technics amplifier su v60 vc4, a technics turntable system sl-j3 and a technics double cassete deck rs-t60r, all working fine, which of the two equalizer models would be suitable for my turntable and the tape recorder??)

I have the new home shirt with the black shorts and socks . Washed the shirt and shorts in the washer machine on a sports wash it’s on the settings on my washer and mine has come alright people need to remember to turn the shirt inside out if there putting there shirt in the washer. But can’t lie home shirt is class so glad I bought it the full kit

Good video! Does the device need to be turned on or can it still play music through it passively when it's off? How much did you pick yours up for, and whats a fair price to pay for one nowadays?

I have this exact same unit. But, i have come across a minor fault. & that is regardless of what i have is set at the spectrum is unbalanced on one side It doesn't seem to do any sound difference ( not that i notice). But, visually there is quite a big difference & i find it very annoying. All i want to do is re- balance the spectrum anyliser ( excuse spelling errors) & i have found nothing on how to do it PLEASE HELP!!!!!! 🙄😯😟
