These XKs do sound glorious, I have a 5.0 NA 2010 model, but.... I have an aftermarket cat-back exhaust system. You haven't heard glorious until you hear an XK with a non-factory back box 😂 I was side by side at the lights earlier this year with an XK-RS, he was green with envy, his sounded not a patch on mine! I keep meaning to make a CZcams vid of the sound myself.

Pretty sure it's not Lunar Grey, looks too dark for that, although Lunar Grey is one of those colours that can vary a LOT in how it looks dependent upon sunlight etc. I have a Lunar Grey 5.0 version. The code is on the plate inside the passenger door just above the door catch. The code for Lunar Grey is LJZ.

On a smaller scale I really struggled to find a magneto for an old Villiers engine I rebuilt a couple of years ago. A bit gutted because I had to give up with it. Couldn't get a spark.

I've had my 07 coupe for 12 years, and it's the best car I've ever owned. You can update the infotainment with CarPlay/Android Auto from Old Jaguar (Australia) or a newer kit from Mr12Volt. I've had the Old Jaguar kit in mine about 4 years and it solves the only thing i didn't like about the car!

This is a great series Howard. There's nothing I like more than getting into the nuts and bolts of these fabulous old machines, or at least watching someone else do so! Nice to have the well-articulated explanations too.

Refering to the official factory workshop manual, there is no mention of a special tool, just remove lower spring, adjuster rod and shoe clips. Replace in reverse order. Perhaps using the retaining clips to position the shoes makes the difference. I know I did mine some years back and don't remember any hastle. As to removing the half shaft to ease matters, half shaft removal entails drawing out the shaft and backplate assembly, removing bearing and abs ring, then seperate the backplate from the half shaft. Sounds like fun!

Very Good, Great tractor, runs sweetly, Love the oilers, Try not to turn the mag without spark plugs connected, Can damage the HT coil with the higher voltage that is developed when the mag tripps without plug leads and plugs. But these American Bosch mags were well insulated when first wound.

Just a small request if I may. When you are shifting lumps of steel about for filming, could you please use wood or similar to protect your viewers hearing. Listening through headphones is painful..

I'm glad I found this. As my welding guy has just declined the job, I am about to do the same to my 2006 JLX. The bit I am most grateful for is that it would not have occured to me to cut the access hole in the outer sill. I've already replaced the slam panel, just this and the hinge post outriggers to do now.

These rust for fun, hence I'm importing my one from Japan, 2011 XRK, 37k miles for under 23k . And it will literally be like new underneath.

My old Vitara had manual twist locking hubs I made beautiful stainless and brass slotted t bar tool to twist them on and off it lived in a little tray down by the driver's door. Great off road but too light to tow anyone out who was stuck in the snow or a muddy field. But it never got stuck itself..

Why is it that the x type gets called a ford so often? apparently they have 19% of ford in them so there’s a lot of cars out there with more makes mixed in that don’t come under the same scrutiny. A mate had an x type and he really liked it, he’s a good car man and said there wasn’t much ford to it and it was a very smooth and enjoyable drive.

I believe over the years Jaguar have overall made the most beautiful cars in history. From their first years until now no automaker has been able to produce such an impressive lineup. To most car enthusiasts Jaguars can’t be mistaken for any thing else from sports cars or the big saloons there’s little doubt….Thats a Jaaag!! 🤗

Subbed 👌 awesome vid. Love it when people torque fixings up, the amount of times ive worked on cars ' wheel nuts/bolts ' in particular are just screwed on with air tools to an inch of their lives is crazy to me. Torque settings are there for a reason, to much stretch is bad 👌

I was just watching a vid where a young guy in the US went to a farm auction and bought three small elderly tractors. Although his total cost was $1300 They all run,including a little one with an underslung mower which his wife found very easy to Drive.

looks just like a Hoytt Clagwell!. I haven't seen one since Mr Hoyt left the tractor business to go into the marketing of plastic fruit. 😂😂

I enjoyed watching the series on the Jimny as I am currently doing mine. The bikes I do are never for money, too many hours work as you say. I used to work in the trade and it was a different mindset, get the job done and get it out. Now it's about a bit of pleasure and satisfaction to get to the end result. Well done with the Jimny, I am sure you and your son will enjoy the hard work you put into it.
