I was wondering if it was OK to use the mop on bamboo as were about to be moving to a house with bamboo flooring and was nervous this would be too much water. I'm glad I picked this video to watch on how to use the mop attachment!

I have 3 Kirby's - a Tradition, Heritage/Heritage II (Turbo!) Frankenkirby and a Sentria II. The Handi Butler is the one attachment I don't have for any of them. I would love to have it though, but not to use it. I have real tools for all these tasks that are far more convenient and ergonomic than this nonsense could ever be. No, I want it for the novelty and for completeness.

I've gotten a Kirby Heritage from a thrift for $35 USD. They had three other Kirby models, the G3, Ultimate G Diamond Edition and the Tradition. The G3 and Ultimate G Diamond Edition had attachments while the Tradition had its original blue hose and the Heritage didn't. I currently own a G4, two Ultimate G's and the Heritage that I got.

I have a kirby avalir 2 and the brush light is not turning on at all and or spinning. I cleaned the brush completely and replaced the belt but still zero change. What should I do? Is the motor fried?

I own a Sentra G10D. the screw in my neutral drive button came out and I vacuumed it up. something inside went pop and it has not worked since. this was 5 years ago. can you do a tutorial on this one?

I'm going to have to agree... looking at them side by side... performance might be the same... but the bag on the Sentria II is fugly... but I'm not going to lie... I could totally get past that...I would definitely own either if they were in perfect shape

Great video instructions...I think Kirby makes an optional 12 foot hose.... so if you think about it... you almost wouldn't need to convert to canister mode with such a long hose... you would run a much less risk of tipping it since you have that length... I have a 12 foot extension hose with my current vacuum (not a Kirby unfortunately)... but I still may get one soon... Anyway.... with a hose that legnth it's freaking amazing that it can turn a vacuum into almost a central vacuum... rarely having to move the vacuum while in each room cleaning... Maybe just move it a little here and there... Dusting brush is my favorite I end up using that to dust everything high and low... use the floor brush for vacuuming hard floors...etc.

OK... firstly... I love Kirby... but I'm not sure I'm loving the shampoo aspect to it... I haven't tried it myself so I don't know....I mean I could be totally wrong.. I just don't see how it's putting foam down... then sucking the foam up.... not really rinsing anything..

Ok... so a 1979 Kirby with a HEPA bag.... I can't imagine why the filtration would not be equal to a modern Kirby with a HEPA bag... since , well, the bag itself is basically the filter... UNLESS there are leaks in the path somewhere on older models perhaps. I don't know.

Been using my G4 as my daily driver recently and ive been very impressed with it! Im looking forward to try the shampooing system with it soon!

The motor spins faster when the hose is on? It sounded more powerful when you pushed in the safety switch for the hose.

Just prior to turning it over to screw the techdrive back in, the u-shaped wrench looking piece looks to have come detached from the hole.

With my current vacuum which isn't a kirby.... it has a hose.... I have some activated charcoal for fish aquariums (a big container I bought a long time ago) ... after a couple of vacuums... I'll suck up maybe a tablespoon or 2 of the charcoal pellets...a few vacuums later if I feel like the charcoal has been covered with dirt... I do this again... I've been doing this for a LONG time...and the bag smells neutral even after months (it takes me forever to come close to filling a bag... I don't have pets... but the bag will still get that stale smell if I don't do this...just not sure how you could do it with a kirby since everything has to go through the fan... It's amazing having a 5 month old bag that smells like I just put in a new one with zero smell.

I love all Kirby's but am scared using my Heritage 1 as a daily driver as it might break, because of that I use my G5.

Another great video from the KIRBY ENTHUSIAST. Are you or anyone aware of problems with the Avalir shampoo system having issues with heat warping or melting the nozzle spindle/brushroll areas? BTW - sent you an email. Keep up the great work.

Do the attachments made for a Sentria fit a Avalir 100?

If you have the time, I like to remove the main vacuum tube from the powerhead to the bag and fill with hot faucet water (NOT boiling) and a bit of bleach. Let it sit with periodic stetching and agitation. The hose sleeves fits snuggly into the housing for agitation. Just be mindful of bleach splatter so agitation in a utility sink or tub might be best. Really gets out the dusty gunk and deodorizes. Sun/UV drying helps too. I have had my Kirby since 1998 and she runs like a Champ! I also add a 1/2 cap of preferred scent beads for laundry to the NEW bag to help maintain a more clean scent when operating.

I cannot find “Silvo” in a liquid form in the US. I will try the wadded version of it since that is the only thing I found. I think it used to be made or distributed out of Rochester, NY, but cannot find that company, either. I only find people selling it as “vintage.” Will keep looking… Has anyone tried any US brands in place of “Silvo”? If so, please let me know.

If I want to buy a used Kirby... no matter what model.... where's the best place to buy one that's been gone over thoroughly? I know Ebay... but who do you trust?
