      for alcohol based dye ive used isopropyl alcohol to reduce the dye like 50/50 and it honestly opens up the color a lot and makes it noticeably more bright

    How do you fix mistakes with die colours when you’re painting

    • @SergeVolken
      @SergeVolken Před 2 lety

      Did I get your question right? Just that we are on the same wavelength, dyeing is translucent like inks and paint is covering. So if you have paint (acrylics) you can eventually change the shade or hue with dye on top but there is no way to cover it with see through dye. The only option would be to paint it over with acrylic.

    • @SergeVolken
      @SergeVolken Před 2 lety

      Sorry, but no. I haven't seen mixing charts as such. This is easy to explain because depending on the leather that comes in a large variety of tanning mixtures and top finishes there is simply no consistent way to have the color mixes universally valid. I guess there is no other way around than to make your own mixing charts with the leathers you are used to work with. :/

    • @SergeVolken
      @SergeVolken Před 3 lety

      That is correct there is spontaneous tanning of skin happening in bogs, rich in decayed plants containing tanning substances. We might call it the exception of the rule. Though perfectly aware of it I wanted to keep things simple. Tanning as such already is so complicated to understand, even more so to explain ;)
