Good day Sir. What year Tuscon is this?
@@itsPhillipStaples This one is a 2016.
@@RLGERHART wow same as mine. Driver side blowing heat. Passenger side cold
@@itsPhillipStaples mine would blow cold air then warm air. Mainly cold when accelerating and warm at idle.
I got my replacement part a day or so ago. Haven't had a chance to get down to it. I started to, but once i got the old out of the slot i couldn't pop out the wires part. Tried for a few minutes. I need to use a flash light and camera to get a good look next time. But even just fiddling with it it works better. Went from maybe low 70s to now 60 or a bit less. My glasses now fog up and i feel cool. Once i replace it, it might be even better.
Tried this for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Didnt work. Saw a comment elsewhere that this didnt work for them either; someone replied that the part was updated (97143-C5000-QQH) and to try that one instead. Well I've tried both and neither worked. Very disappointed. I only have 37,000 mi on it.
@@s.h.1389 Wow, only 37k. Sorry that it didn’t work for you. I’m curious on what else it could be at 37k.
@@RLGERHART First the dealer said it's low on refrigerant. I hadn't even pulled out of the dealership and it was still blowing warm air. Took it back. They then said they've detected a leak and it's the evaporator core. I found that hard to believe and told them to leave it as is, especially since they wanted well over $2000 to fix. A friend of mine, who's done mechanic work in the past with his family, said it does happen (the evaporator core). But when he saw my mileage, he found it hard to believe too. He did a quick preliminary check and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I told him at times, it feels like it is trying to pull in cold air, but only happens for a few seconds and randomly. He thinks I should try adding refrigerant again (feels the dealer might've been incompetent here). I'll provide an update in the near future. Thanks for your time!
I just changed mine cost me $10 on Amazon and fix the problem. Thank you. 1:54
@@davidmcginn7908 Nice, glad it worked. 🤘🏻
Hey, you don't have to buy a new one. Just clean the sensor with a map sensor cleaner, and it'll be as good as new!
I did t think about that. Thanks for heads up.
Just curious for anybody else, I got the part and 10 minutes later it is changed out. Does your AC blow cold air right away or does it take time. I noticed you said you drove it for 20 minutes and you had cold air. Was it instantaneous or did it take the 20 minutes. For mine, the car was out of warranty and the dealership said it was some wiring harness not getting enough voltage(it would have been $5,000 to fix). I figured I would try this, cost $12.50 for the part.
Mine blew cold air right away. I drove it for 20min just to test it out. No issues since. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I changed mine as well let it run for a bit didn’t get cold 😢 will try a short drive later
Hello! I know this is a long shot since this is an older video, but I’ll ask anyway. I bought the thermastor. I pulled out the original but I don’t know how to take the wires out of it to replace it with the new one. I can’t find any tutorial or video that pulls out the wires. I obviously don’t want to damage it. Thank you in advance if anyone has any advice
Hello, I had to use a very small flat head screwdriver to get the harness to release.
@@RLGERHART it’s popped out but there’s wires in it. I’ll have to look at it better tomorrow morning. I appreciate your quick reply 🙂
@@minimakersstudio The wires sit inside the harness. One side of the harness plugs into the other side. I don’t see what you see. Hope this helps.
@@RLGERHART it's hard to pop off. It's really stuck on there. I'll keep trying but it's really frustrating. I think my grip/fingers are not strong enough. I'm hoping this is the problem and the piece I need to replace, but I really can't pop it off. I'll keep trying to do my best. Thx for your help.
@@minimakersstudio With mine, there was a slot that the other side clipped in. I used a small flat screwdriver to release it.
This old video is solid gold! My goodness Thank you!. Daughter's car AC was out. Manifold gauge readings indicated bad compressor (@$1600+ job in my area). All I needed was this part and 5 minutes and it all works perfectly. Same problem on the Genesis G80 but no easy way to find the thermistor part number. Thank you Richie G. for helping me be a hero dad!
I’m glad you were able to benefit from it.
Will this be the same part number for a 13 Tucson? Our compressor works but it’s not getting cold
Found this on Amazon.

Try this. Good luck.
Omg.. I'm hoping this fixes my issue.. had the same problem literally within my first year of owning my brand new '17 Tucson. Eventually took it to the dealership, changed out the entire compressor only to be having the same issues. Thought it was low on refrigerant or had a leak or something. .but everything checked out just fine. I'm gonna order this part and hope it solves the issue, especially in this southern humid heat
Good luck 🤞🏻
@@RLGERHART Update, I went on Amazon ordered the part costing me about 16 dollars after shipping, and God know I can't thank you enough, now my AC is blowing a consistent 37 degrees on it's lowest setting with no issues, save what was going to cost me roughly $650.00 now that I'm no longer under warranty.
@@shenton18 I’m glad it worked out for you. Yw

Hi Richie, can i use some clips from your channel?...
Yes!! 👍🏻
I got the same problem with my 2017 limited...di you recommend the same thing
For only a $20 part. Worth a shot.
I have tried replacing the air conditioner coolant and have the correct pressure but a/c still doesn't cool. I found this sensor, thanks to this video. This sensor is located, on a Hyundai Tucson 2014, behind the black plastic panel that extends forward from the center console. You have to slightly bend the panel toward you and away from the console in order to get to it. It's kind of difficult, and you can feel the sensor, rotate it as shown in the video, to get it out. The video doesn't show the panel that hides the sensor. I removed my sensor but did not have a replacement, as of yet, so I put it back and will order the sensor. I also noticed that my radiator fan never energizes, even when the engine is hot. I tested it by disconnecting the plug at the top, and right side of the fan and put a couple of jumper wires to the + and the - terminal of the battery directly to the fan. The fan works ok this way, so it isn't getting the voltage when hooked up normally. The fuse is good, could still be the relay in the fuse panel, but I will try replacing both the relay and the sensor!
I was wrong about the radiator fan not energizing..and does work ok. I ordered my sensor from youtube and put it in but it didn't fix the a/c problem. I put a white mark on my a/c compressor clutch wheel to see if it turns if energized...but it doesn't ever turn...so it might be a bad compressor or the signal voltage that energizes the clutch is not there. The connector on the compressor is a bit hard to get to (from under the car after removing the large bottom engine cover. But, I was able to remove the connector plug, on the compressor, and checked continuity from the relay socket (after removing the relay) on the fuse/relay assy to the compressor plug (the yellow wire). I could have applied 12v to the corresponding pin (to the yellow wire on the plug) on the compressor to see if the clutch engaged. But, I had to wrap it up before I could do that. I think I will get a new plug with a wire to the matching pin with the yellow wire that I can more easily use to apply 12v to the clutch for testing purposes. The fuse is good. Could be that the relay isn't being energized (I thought of removing the relay shell cover and manually enabling it for testing (to see if the clutch energizes. Could be my pressure switches on the high and low coolant lines are faulty???

I have the same problem in my 2006 Hyundai Tucson, but I wonder if it would be buy the same Thermostat for mine?

I've got a 2018 Tucson that I just purchased about 90 days ago from a the dealership. Same symptoms of warm air blowing. I was skeptical of this fixing the problem since it quite a flimsy part. Cost me $22 and change. Took 4 days to get it since it was special order too. Hopefully it is just low on refrigerant.
My gf tucson doesn't blow ac just hot air. Checked the pressure and it's fully charged so I wonder if it could be this
That was exactly my problem. Worth a shot. 👍🏻
Is there any chance that there is one located on the passenger side? Or something similar to that ? I am having with problem with my passenger side AC is technically not hot, but not cool. I changed the actuator, but it didn’t work? Any ideas
If you have dual climate controls for both sides it can be possible.
My Tucson is the basis model
when i change the temperature to hot it feels the difference and the two sides feel the same
Did you ever figure out the problem with yours? My wife has a 2017 with same issue. Drivers side as well as rear vent is ice cold but passenger side vents are just cool
Thanks for the info, just discovered today that the A/C blew hot, we bought it in December last year.
Hopefully this will work for you. Good Luck!!
@@RLGERHART Thanks, just ordered it on Amazon $15.50
@@RLGERHART Didn't work but worth a try. Thanks.
@zaedlo ya I did the same thing the cold blows hot, and the pressure gage is filled as well must be something else
@@cali408king4 I took mine to a shop, it turned out to be the Blend-Door-Actuator. They guy charged $180 parts and labor.
My 2013 Hyundai Tucson ac has been out for weeks. Mechanic is saying it’s the compressor and I tried to use the ac refrigerant and it was on red. Would this work?
I can’t say for sure but for $20 it couldn’t hurt to try.

I honestly don’t know. I’m sure the dealer would be able to provide you with an answer. Sorry
My dad spend over $1000 trying to fix his AC and always have the same issue Thanks to this man got it fix with $22 you are the best
Yw, glad it works out for you.
I bought my thermistor for $18 bucks. for my 2017 hyundai tucson, it did not work like I would like. No more hot air, but it is not blowing real cold air. Today was a kind of a cool day here in central calif. High today in 80s, tomorrow back to 100 and above for most of the summer. I checked the pulley on the a/c it is turning. Is there a break in period for New thermistor? I drove around for about 15 min. Have not changed coolant in 5 yrs. Maybe that is problem.
Mine was instant. Sorry that it didn’t fix your issue.
@@RLGERHART Tomorrow going to check if the Clutch is moving once A/C is turned on. I know it is not suppose to move, if you do not have your A/C control on the on position. Also want to mention, I did buy the A/C Pro cannister from Kragen, it took all the Refrigerant. But I like I said it is not Cold Cold, when I turn on A/C
I’ve changed it. Still no cold air coming out. I’ve also recharged my system. It might be the blend door actuator.
Very well could be. Sorry it didn’t work out for ya.
It was worth a try. Now the hard part is accessible the blend door actuator underneath the dash. I assume the part itself is under $100.
Will this part work for 2017 Tuscon?
I don’t see why not. I would check with your local dealer first to see if they are the same. Good luck 🤞🏻
@@RLGERHART Yes it is the same! My a/c gets cold then warm, sometimes cold for about 5 min back to warm. Today it is 104deg here in Central California.
Hi Richie, is it OK with you to use this footage for my next compilation ? You will be credited! Thank you.
Yes, thank you
I assume the compressor/clutch is working if you get at least some cold air. I get none, and I think my clutch is blown bc i can smell it (more of an electrical burnt coil smell) and chased it back through the relay and couldn't get it to engage manually. Interesting that the fuse didn't blow. Trying to get my mechanic to replace just the clutch.
Ya, sounds like your issue is beyond the thermistor. Good luck 🤞🏻
