as a crimewatch viewer in the 90s and 2000s I love these videos and commend the effort made to compile and upload them. however I have to point out that the normalised volume across clips is far far too low. even on full volume I can barely hear a thing, which unfortunately kind of ruins the end product of a good idea and lot of effort

Tony Jasinskyj was a soldier serving in the Army Catering Corps at the base in Aldershot. 20 years later, he was arrested for assaulting his wife where police took a routine DNA sample, therefore obtaining a match for the 1981 crime. He was up for parole in April 2022 but I can’t find anything on the outcome of this

Pauline Floyd and Geraldine Hughes’ killer was identified in 2002 as Joseph William Kappen. He was never caught, as he died in 1990 of lung cancer at the age of 48. His wife had provided him with a false alibi in the initial investigation. DNA and familial testing eventually linked Kappen via his son Paul, who was a local car thief

The Lesley Molseed case was utterly appalling. The murderer, Ronald Castree, was found by DNA after being arrested for another sex attack. On top of that, in 1976 he abducted and abused a 9 year old girl (getting the now unbelievable punishment of a fine of £25) and then in 1978 he again got a ridiculous fine of £50 for abusing a 7 year old boy. Castree's son has gone on record to talk about how violent his father was but also how his dad's dad was a convicted paedophile who'd badly abused him as a child. The grandfather had convictions for abusing a boy in a public toilet. It's believed that Castree was likely part of a wider paedophile ring in Rochdale. It seems that Rochdale had a serious problem with it back then, given what we now know about its MP, Cyril Smith, and what he was doing. Up until the early 90s, one set of toilets in the town became known as a focal point for paedophile from all over the North west and West Yorkshire to come and pick up kids, many of whom were from a now notorious local care home. As for Stefan Kiszko, his case was described as one of the worst miscarriages of justice in British history. The four girl's who had made allegations against him (which ked to him being a suspect in the murder case) said many years later when he'd been freed that they'd "done it for a laugh" and refused to apologise.
