Mountain Division Memories, Extra CSRX 1751 leads new equipment through Bartlett NH [09/15/2023]
Acquired from CSX are these former Maine Central ballast cars and one B&M flat car. Conway Scenic Railroad GP9 #1751 leads the train from Hazens south back to North Conway. They are seen here flying through Roger's Crossing in Bartlett NH

Well it's getting close to the holidays so we had to make the town of Conway hear our part! This was taken on the 3:30 run to Conway on the Santa Express. A very big thanks goes out to the engineer of the 4266 for doing an excellent job the entire run especially for this! I know it's not so easy playing songs with a pull chord attached to a valve but our engineer pulled it off!

At first I didn't like 1751s M3, but it sounds real nice here!

This engine has a much worse m3 now, from the Conway scenic I think.
The M3 came off of MEC 352.
did the p3 get some cleaning done to it?

Excellent footage. That horn is definitely very fouled but it’s so soothing 😌. And it’s been on 313 for quite a long time, I think less than a month after this video the horn was placed on the 307.
S3L. Probably original to 313, built in 1968 for Penn Central.

No need for one. If it works then it'll be used! Also with the prices of fuel it wouldn't be worth running a second locomotive. There are 2 cars on the CLDT that are equipped with the safety gear.

Nope, Hancock 4700 air whistle! New Haven used quite a few of these of their FL-9s too

@coasternamegenerator5611 pretty much how the way things work at P&L with horns is if one doesn't work, swap it out and fix it. The RS3L that's on the 1590 now works just fine. No need to put a different horn on it!

Yea it’s too heavy for the tracks. Plus there aren’t too many potential customers and they’d have to have 2 locos, one in front and one in back. There’s no runaround space on this line at all.
At least no runaround space until Plymouth.
A video showing how they load the granite blocks and secure them for transit would be interesting

I honestly don't remember. It ran on NECR tracks
VTR ran detour BDRD & RDBD trains over the NECR Roxbury sub for a few months. The Middlebury tunnel Project was in full swing and the track needed to be closed and removed while the tunnel floor was dug out so the track could be lowered. pretty much ran every day BDRD/RDBD normally runs however ran early morning ahead of Amtrak

I remember seeing it arrive and on it’s first test runs. Looked weird with blue trucks and the neon red on the hobo railroad, where I’m used to seeing the take on the classic B&M minuteman. Nice video.

When I was little me and my dad every time we heard the train horn we would run down to the railroad crossing and see the train go by now in my area New England Southern got bought up by Pan Am and now CSX is trying to buy out Pan Am in our area

@@dorstengoopski88 probably next year there will be an operation from Tilton to Lowell Jct with "partnership" with CSX to interchange in Concord. Like NHN does with Pan Am!

This is pretty cool. Conway scenic used to have people bring in there private speeders down to like something going on in Conway. I live right next to the railroad tracks so I here a few noises of speeders so I would always run outside to go see them
