This is my set up for using automatic chicken waterers in my pigeon cages. The pigeons took to these right away. I have since covered the waterers from above with cardboard to keep them relatively poop-free. I clean the drinking cups once a week with a sponge to remove seed, grit, and poop. Watering is now a piece of cake. No problems or sickness since the July installation.
FYI, the waterers were bought on eBay (from a US seller, for quick shipping, but are made in China) and DO NOT have the yellow "paddle" inside the drinking cup.

Here is why I decided to take my time and paint this kit box as I was building it. The other boxes are barely a year old and they look like pigeon poop! Marked down paint is my friend, so that's why interior paint was used. I'll update next summer and compare.

I thought I would share my finished kit box with other roller pigeon fanciers on CZcams. I like the design because I can build it in pieces, assemble it myself, and the inside is a perfect square. The door is a pain to make, but it is very functional and it works perfectly with my training cage.
