I am a mixed media artist who loves to share my process-- I try to make art that makes people feel connected and seen. I enjoy creating videos that are helpful, relaxing and inspiring. Through my art I aim to convey messages or a feeling that uplifts and inspires others to be the best version of themselves. We can all be each other's cheerleader--I'm rooting for you!
I always thought being an artist was for other people. As a kid I was always happily surrounded by coloring books, scrap paper, glue and markers--it was instinctual for me to create dioramas, collages and art work by the droves!
It was only after many years (and careers) of trying to fit my round self into a square hole that I realized being an artist wasn't just for others, it was for ME too.
It all started with some adult painting classes--abstract art burst my heart wide open; it brought me back to my artistic self and I haven't looked back since.

Art Journaling Mixed Media Tutorial
Follow along as I play in my art journal today. I am using an unusual paint color to see how I can make it work in a spread! I love experimenting with different supplies in my journal because I'm not worried about messing the page up or making a mistake. It gives me the space to just play and have fun!

Great Video! I like your colors. Do you remember where you got your different stencils?
I get a lot of my stencils from Michael's and Temu.
I’ve tried this twice so far but I was following written instruction that said to leave it over night or minimum of 5 hours to dry. I did that (actually longer because I forgot ) and did have to use a wet sponge or wet cloth (as part of the instructions) and the first one came out ok but I hadn’t cut The image,so it came out looking rough ;the 2nd one I accidentally over wet it and parts of the photo came off. So I have a question. Does the time left to “dry” (2minutes ) matter on the size of the image you’re transferring? Both mine were about 8x10. Also is there a way to wrap the phot image around The edges?
Hi there! I don't think the size of the transfer matters as much as the technique does. It seems like the longer you leave it to dry, the harder it may be to pull that top layer of paper off because it will adhere to the substrate more. That's just a guess though! If you want to wrap the image around edges of a canvas, just put the medium on the sides and fold it over. It should work the same with a little adjusting. Good luck with it!

Could you spray some kind of sealer on the ink jet print before applying it to keep it from running?
It's a good idea but I don't want to mess up my printer head. There is a new fixatif that I am going to try after I print to see if it prevents smudging.

Do you use a fixative at the end?
When I am ready to frame/sell it, I add a fixation and varnish coat. I scan my work first so I wait until after that to add any top coats. 😁
What kind of printer do you run through with the deli paper?
It's just a regular office printer: hp 5255 deskjet.
