Why does the eForte have the lower quality Shimano Tourney derailleur from the 2022 and earlier Forte, instead of the 2023-2024 Forte upgraded (better) Shimano Altus derailleur? edited for typos
Thanks for reaching out. Management felt confident with this latest version of the Tourney derailleur that it would perform fine with the E-Forte. The E-Forte has been out for over 8 months now and we have had no service issues with the Tourney. Thanks!-BG
@@ZiZZOBikes You might want to read the review on your web site by Edmond A. dated 5/18/2024, which states the Tourney deraillier problems he was having ... specifically "It kept skipping, ghost-shifting, dropping gears". Have read these complaints about that derailleur on other bikes, though I realize no derailleur is perfect. But the 2023-2024 Forte improved with the change from the Tourney to the Arcus system, so I would rather you had kept the Arcus on the more demanding ebike. edited for typos
@@torinsall Adjustments to derailleurs is common . Whether its Dura -Ace or Tourney cable stretch is common on any new bike. We monitor all social media and forums and welcome anyone who has an issue with their bike to talk to our techs or email us. 99% of all situations are mostly resolved with minor adjustments that anyone can do. Thanks for your concern and advice. -BG
@@ZiZZOBikes Thank you for your quick response. Out of curiosity, what if someone wanted the e-Forte with the Shimamo Arcus derailleur now on the 2023-2024 Forte models? Why not offer that as an option for the e-Forte at the point of sale? Kind of like being offered purchase of a larger or extra battery, or other options, is often done at time of purchase?
@@torinsall Thanks for your suggestion. The bikes are already fully packed with foam / protective material and taking out bikes for customization is not part of our normal procedures. Maybe someday but not at this point. It is easy enough for someone to swap out any part they want on their own if they would like to customize it to their needs when it arrives. Thanks-BG
I found the pedal direction questionable. Mine folds more compact if the pedal arms are inline with seatpost.
What to do about the fact that the derailuer refuses to even stick in 2nd gear at all? It just skips back and forth across 1st and 3rd. Also, 1st gear is nowhere near low enough for a bike with small wheels. Usually the only way I can actually get up even a moderate hill is to get off and push. I dont even get the point of the higher gears on this bike. Is there a gearset with lower gears available for people who ride in places that are not completely flat? And is there a known issue with the derailuer?
Thanks for your response. If you are having issues with the derailleur out of adjustment we have a video for that in Tonys Tech Tuesday Ep 2 . As far as gearing for hills goes everyone has different needs based on riding style and terrain. ZiZZO bikes come with industry standard parts and you could change them out to what meets your needs. Our 8 speed Liberte, Urbano, Forte 23, and Marino come with a 11-32 cassette and a 48 t chainring in the front that seems to suit most but again you could do modifications if you like. If you would like to speak to a technician you are always welcome to email us at support@zizzo.bike or call us at 1-866-788-2202 Mon -Fri 9am -6pm pst. Thanks!-BG
Hi there, Recently, I ordered Zizzo via Amazon canada. I felt the seat was not that comfortable so I bought a comfort seat via Amazon. I tried to change the saddle. For that I looked into the Zizzo video in CZcams (czcams.com/video/hwLFa8cqyfo/video.html). The bolt of seat post was really tight, so I dip it in warm water for about 30 minutes after which I was able to loosen the bolt. I removed the seat binder completely and connected the new comfort saddle from Amazon. It was all well. even had a ride for approx, 6 km. The next day, when I was trying to ride the bike, the saddle just fell off....The seat binder was no longer holding the saddle tight.. Now, I thought maybe going back to original seat might help. So, I changed the comfort saddle from Amazon to the original ZIzzo via saddle. However, the seat binder no longer holds the saddle tight. It keeps loosening. Could you please advise, what might have gone wrong? and how can I mitigate this problem? I also looked into seat post in Zizzo website, but not sure if it will be compatible to the zizzo via? And if it will be delivered to Canada? My friend has a Zizzo Campo and her seat binder works perfectly fine, binding the seat post to saddle tight and sturdy unlike mine. I was wondering, does the seat post of Zizzo campo works for Zizzo via and if we can order it online? Alternatively, can other company's seat post work for Zizzo via? Please advise. Thank you!
Hi Zizzo 🙋♀️ I just received my Zizzo Campo Yellow Folding Bike but I can't ride it yet bc I'm sick 🤒 but as soon as I recover I'll be riding my New Toy! Brooklyn NY time: 3:06pm Oh & Thank you for the videos & instructions!
Hey Yolanda! Hope you feel better and are recovering well! We just wanted to reach out and make sure you're doing ok and ready for your ride! Tony
hope you’re well! did you ever set up?
Nice! I bought a Via in 2018 and love having it in my car for emergencies or spontaneous rides!
Well done Zizzo for getting the bike certified to meet UL 2849. At 41lb the e-Forte is considerably lighter than my RadExpand (65lb), currently I’m using a Zizzo Liberte for the days I don’t want to lug the Rad onto the train ride to work. The e-Forte could replace both my bikes!
I'm having this exact issue. It's made worse by the play in the chain when tuning the bike. I have a 2023 Forte. I'll align this per the instructions provided but I throw a chain every other ride at this point. I love the bike and everything else about it but this is getting a little bit excessive. The chain being thrown about every 16 miles is a comical amount of times when I don't think I've tossed one on my hybrid Giant or my ebike once. I'd like to see the plastic part subbed out for a metal piece in the future or a guide on both sides of the chain.
Hello. If you try this adjustment and it still isn't helping please reach out to us M-F 9am-6 pm pst at 1-866-788-2202 or email us SUPPORT@ZIZZO.BIKE Thanks!-BG
So anyone know if there will be room to convert the V breaks to disc breaks?
Hey @alkibilko Unfortunately, there are mounts on the frame for disc brakes that are not found on ZiZZO Bikes. You would not be able to add disc brakes to a stock ZiZZO Frame. Tony
Then I can fly from Glasgow to London for a hybrid remote job haha
Great information
Thank you! Please let us know if you have nay questions! Tony
That's great that they include the headlight! It's annoying they do NOT deliver that with the add-on EMO kit. They also need to include a rear light though.
Thanks for your suggestions.-BG
Looks good to me. Kinda wish there was the built in pig nose on the head tube though, instead of the light. Another cool Zizzo product!
Thanks! We hope riders will enjoy the E-Forte and modify it to their needs. -BG
Excited for the upcoming detailed overview! These basics are a great teaser for what's to come. Thanks for the sneak peek!
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Happy pedaling!-BG
Thanks, excellent video.

Zizzos run 2 inch wide 20 inch tires which are cushy at medium pressures. ~35psi in dirt and 42ish on pavement. Lots of tire options.
Debating this versus a similar but electric bike ( Jetson ) versus an E-scooter with each being able to fold / fit in my car back seat ( Mercedes c-230 ) area. Tough decisions 😢
Thanks for the consideration! If you have any questions give us a ring at 1-866 788-2202
Hey! Why does the Marino come with grips that LOOK like they should lock, but without any locking nuts?! :-( Once you've taken those off they never stay put, so don't provide any wrist support.
Hello. The grips on the Marino are just a similar looking style but not much different than some of the other models. As you well know none of the bikes come stock with locking grips. These grips seem to work just fine and so far nobody has had any issues. Thanks for your comment as we appreciate your time.-BG
Why didn't y'all take a Marino?!? ;-p
We just launched the Marino this year! ;-) That's a great idea for Beach Day 2024, though!!!
There was a place in the Marina Districts, just a door or two off of Lombard, that made a pizza with an amazing buttery crust, almost like a quiche! I think they're gone, but let me know if they're still around. Sadly, Clown Alley, just down the street from there, is long gone.Clown Alley had the best menu in the history of menus! ;-)
I have two of these on my Campo and Forte, I live in a place that requires me to walk through a narrow space while carrying my bike and I don’t have to worry about damaging my deraillure anymore
Thank you for this video. I had no idea that a Dahon 20" folding bike could fit in a standard 31" x 21" Samsonite suit case, and quite handily, too. Thank you!
I used the Liberte almost every day for work. The subway requires my bike to fold. I have only had the bike four months and the folding hinge is stuck. I can't get it open enough to see much, (It pops open a tiny bit and the issue seems to be that the bolt can't move forward) but from what I can see there is no gunk or rust or anything that should be causing this. I fold the bike after every ride and store it inside. I wipe it down regularly. Do you have a suggestion to fix the stuck hinge? I'm getting into trouble if I try to bring the bike on the train and am really disappointed that the main feature of this bike so quickly has gone defunct and for seemingly no reason.
Hey @ashtonlindhorst5399 Thanks for your post. Based on what you are describing, it sounds like the "slide" (the part you mentioned is getting stuck slides on this part) may have gotten bent. When you are able to, please reach out to our customer Service Team at 866-788-2202 or support@zizzo.bike Looking forward to hearing from you! Tony
I’m excited to get my bike! 💜

Zizzo Best for the money! have 3 of them for about t 3 years and have No problems at all!
Thank you for the kind words!-BG
I have a Zizzo Forte with the preinstalled Pignose adapter. Just wondering what the weight limit of a loaded pignose bag is. They don't fill me with confidence just looking at them !
Great question! Riding DOES take a little getting used too! We are used to loads in the front of the bike MOVING when we turn the handlebars! It's a little "odd" when it doesn't as with the Pig Nose ;-) With that being said, We recommend that no more than 15LBS be placed on the Pig Nose. Please let us know if you have nay other questions. Tony
Has anyone MODed this to carry medium sized dogs? I’ve got a few ideas but I’d rather copy a proven idea lol.
I'm thinking of getting the Urbano or the Liberté to fold and store under my ultralight airplane, so I can use it anda folding fuel bladder to ride to the nearest gas station when I land at airports (they dont have auto gas at airports). What size BOX would I need to build under my airplane fuselage to hold these bikes ?
Hello @vg23air! We can't tell you what size to make the box but I can give you the bikes folded dimensions. The dimensions of the 2 models you mentioned is H-27" L-31" W-13" Feel free to reach out at support@zizzo.bike Thanks!-BG
If I have a Zizzo Liberty and want more traction. Can I just get Urbano tires? Will my liberty pretty much be like an Urbano now?
"It all depends!" There are A LOT of different tire options available, from road "slicks" to full on snow tires! What you need/want will depend on your specific riding style and area. When asked this question, we always recommend that you speak to the folks at your local bike shop! Why? These folks live, work and ride in the same places you do. They should have a good understanding of what your local needs would be AND ALSO, they should carry tires best suited to your area! ;-) Let us know if you have any other questions. Tony

I just did this, thanks for posting it! I commented on your headstock video before I saw this one. Very good clear instructions, no wasted verbiage , great job!
Looks like you found the right video! ;-) Please let us know if you have any questions. Tony
Really helpful video. After riding my bike a few days I noticed looseness in the headstock. The owner’s manual specifically states “ check for movement “. I did the adjustment per your video and took it out. I also adjusted the folding clamp slightly. You might want to add that to the video. Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Would be afraid of the bike catching on fire. I have seen numerous e bikes blowing up .I don't want one anymore. I'll stick to the original biking.
Hey @supremefire31xd88 That is an absolutely valid concern. This is why the ZiZZO kit meets UL 2849 standard and we spent a lot of time testing the kit and battery. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Tony
Cool!
Nice Ride, i think "Kenda small blok 20x1.95" would be perfect.
This would not be safe for an airline check-in bag right? I would think the bike would get banged up inside that bag as a check-in bag since it’s a soft case not hard.
Hey Deb It's all about YOUR comfort level. Some folks are VERY protective of their things, while others are just fine throwing a bike in a duffle bag and going off! In terms of "protection" hard sided cases are better for protecting your bike than soft sided bags. ;-) Let us know if you have any other questions! Tony
Is the zizzo ferro a suitable trail bike. Like is it ok to hit a couple of humps and road bumps.
Hey @anglerbart3347 Great questions and the short answer is, "It all depends!" Like any "traditional" non-folding bike, the Ferro can go anywhere a comparable bike can go. The Ferro was designed for paved riding with the occasional light trail. In terms of humps and bumps, the Ferros should not have any problems. Tony
Glad to see it's that easy! I already had this happen once and had to get my dad to help me and he got it back on but I couldn't really see how he did it.
Hey @yugimew! A lot of "working on a bike" is pretty "Easy. The biggest "obstacle" is just doing the task often enough so that you become familiar AND comfortable! Keep on working on your bike (or at least watch you dad!) and you'll be working on your bike in no time! Tony
The bolt holding the plate is extremely tight that I am unable to loosen it
Hi and thank you for reaching out. Yes, the saddle binder bolt IS VERY difficult to remove (as it should be). It is torqued to approximately 22 Newton Meters. Because of the torque, it is absolutely imperative that the correct size tool be used as well. Ultimately, if you are not able to loosen the binder bolt, you can bring (just) the seatpost and saddle to a local bike shop and they should be able to loosen it up for you. Tony
Did you change out the stock Liberte tires for this?
Hi and thanks for your question! No, the tires were not changed for this experiment. We used the stock tires that come with the Liberte. Let us know if you have any other questions! Tony
If you put the derailleur down, won't it damage the unit?
Hey @neeleshkushte6023 Great comment! If there is any weight/load on the derailleur (for example, laying the bike on the derailleur side, as you mention) there is a possibility that the derailleur or derailleur hanger can get damaged. Always make sure to keep weight/load off the derailleur AND pad/protect it when traveling. Tony
This was helpful as my handlebar on my Via was slowly slipping. I was able to correct it before watching this video and did the same thing the video showed to do to stop it from slipping. So thanks for this confirmation that I did it right on my own. Your videos are always so helpful and seem to touch on every issue that we may experience at one time or another.
You are so very welcome, @deborahaaxman280! Please let us know if you have any video ideas for us to consider. Tony
Hi, for surface streets, sidewalk and other pavement riding what is a good steady psi number for the tires on the Via?
@@deborahaaxman280 Great (and personal) question! The short version: Set the PSI to whatever feels good to you, as long as it is within the tire's recommended PSI range (listed on the sidewall of the tire). The long version: It depends on what you are looking for. Firstly, my favorite cycling quote: Nothing in cycling is "free" if you get some type of benefit, it is going to "cost" you somewhere else! So, higher pressure will help the bike ride more efficiently, but at a cost of comfort. (Think road bike tires, skinny and high pressure: really efficient, but not too comfortable). The opposite is also true: Lower PSI will feel more comfortable, but be much less efficient (again, think of beach cruiser tires: Big and low pressure, but VERY inefficient). I hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions! Tony
THANKS! Makes sense. Sorry it was personal but I was in your store/office on Monday with Janie Im. You were kind enough to help her fold and get the magnets to touch when she was having problems. Anyway, thank you for your response and for the great bikes that you sell. I’m very pleased with my VIA, infact, extremely so!
@@deborahaaxman280 Hey DEB! I remember you ;-) Gooing back to my reply to you, I just want to be clear: When I mentioned that the question was "personal", I meant that it is a question that is unique to each rider, "personal". Not personal, as in "private". I apologize for the misunderstanding. Take care and happy riding! Tony
I think you should build a fat tire version of the Forte. Something like 3.0 inch tires. That would be most bad ass folding bike out there.
Thanks for posting! Love the video! Very Helpful!
