Observation Point: Zion National Park | Road Trip Episode 10
Day 10 and we saved the best views of Zion National Park for the last hike of our trip. East Mesa Trail starts from outside Zion National Park on a lazy, well defined 3.5 mile trail out to Observation Point. The views of the valley were breathtaking, animals were plentiful (so many lizards!), and people were minimal. A perfect way to end our vacation.

The Narrows: Zion National Park | Road Trip Episode 9
zhlédnutí 71Před 2 lety
Day 9, we finally hiked The Narrows! The hike was well worth the wait, lots of people for the first 1.5 miles, but the weather was perfect. If you're considering hiking The Narrows, consider good footwear or rentals, duel trekking poles for stability, check with park officials regarding thunderstorm/flash-flood potential, and start early!
Horseshoe Bend & Upper Antelope Canyon: Arizona | Road Trip Episode 8
zhlédnutí 60Před 2 lety
We love a good road trip with scenic overlooks. On Day 8 we traveled from Utah to Arizona and visited Horseshoe Bend and Upper Antelope Canyon. Horseshoe Bend ended up being a quick pit stop for a few pictures before jumping back in the car to our next destination; a guided tour of Upper Antelope Canyon. The tour of Antelope Canyon was one of our favorite things we did on our trip. We ended our...
Emerald Pools & Canyon Overlook: Zion National Park | Road Trip Episode 7

Day 7 did not turn out how we had planned - it was a lesson in going with the flow and having a plan B. We had to move the Narrows hike to another day due to inclement weather, but in the end it all worked out. This was a rather lazy day of exploring Zion National Park and learning how the shuttle system worked. We did a few short hikes, a bunch of "chores", and spent a relaxing evening at our ...

You know it's a good day when you use nearly an entire bottle of sunscreen!! Day 6 was supposed to be our relaxing day. Well it turned out to be packed full of fun activities and one of our favorite days of the trip. We began our day on jet skis and bombed around Sand Hollow Lake for a few hours. Then decided to slow it down with a little rock jumping and swimming. We spent our evening on a sun...

Day 5 turned out to be very temperamental. We started our day hiking in the rain through the beautiful hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park. The sun broke out just in time for us to explore a little more of Bryce Canyon on our way out of the Park only for the thunderstorms to turn into heavy rain and flash flood warnings. It was all worth it when we got our first glimpse of Zion National Park ...

Day 4 was so cool! We were able to walk through slot canyons for the first time. The hike to/from the canyons was incredibly hot. We didn't get a chance to show you just how steep of a hike it was. Luckily it was a pretty short hike and the payoff was well worth it. If you are lucky enough to venture out to explore these canyons make sure you bring LOTS of water and sunscreen. We ended our day ...

Day 3 was a long one. We started off hiking the ~ 8 miles of Devils Garden Loop Trail and stopped at as many of the Arches on the drive out of the park as we could. We then traveled through Capital Reef National Park on our way to Escalante for the night. This was one of the most beautiful drives we've ever experienced. Absolutely worth taking the time to drive and enjoy the scenery.

DON'T DO THIS. YOU CAN REPLACE THE BATTERY MUCH MORE EASILY THAN THIS GUY DOES. JUST REMOVE PARTIALLY THE GAS TANK, ENOUGH TO REACH THE BATTERY BUY WITHOUT DISCONECTING ANY OF THE FUEL TUBES. PARK MOMENTARILLY THE GAS TANK BESIDES THE BIKE USING SOME KIND OF STAND (THE TUBES LENGHT ALLOW THIS FINE), REPLACE THE BATTERY AND PUT THE TANK BACK IN PLACE. THAT IS. THERE ARE SEVERAL TUTORIALS IN THE WEB IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE.

The lights are intentionally of different colors. In good weather, white is the best color. However, in bad weather conditions (fog, rain, snow, dust) a warmer (more yellow) color will penetrate the haze better than white.

    • @Fromatic
      @Fromatic Před 10 měsíci

Not sure the light penetrates any better with more yellow light, but can imagine the reflection from the haze/heavy rain etc is much less self blinding with a more yellow light as its less intense

LED’s are great at anywhere from 30 to 50 feet in front of the bike. They suck at 80 to 100 feet. I can see much farther in front of my bike with a good set of Halogens than LED’s.

Very helpful info but im going to use a duel usb socket, less plugs joins less voltage drop and issues from stuff rattling around. If you use the second set of connectors it will turn off power with ignition so less risk of a flat battery.

If you average 35 miles per hour, the LED will pay for itself around 350.000 miles in ( at which point you would have used up around 10 halogen bulbs ), and it will last for around 1 million miles. So be honest, no bike LED will ever really pay for itself - 99,8% of people do not put 35.000 miles on a bike, let alone 350.000. That's like '14 times around the world' territory. But at least you could be sure that LED would go around the world a further 28 times, which is when you realize that you're 70 years old and you bought the LED when you were 18. So, actually, if anything it pays for itself for the NEXT owner or even one owner or more further down the road, as THEY won't have to replace anything, yet didn't need to shoulder the initial costs. But in all likelihood, the bike will be turned to scrap metal long before the LED system ever paid for itself, as only a select few bikes will ever reach 350.000 miles and beyond.
