That looks very complicated to set up, compared to a flex wing.

May I propose a little enhancement? As I am looking at this video I recall that my friend broke one of his flaps. It happened because of the slack the wing has in relation to keel while it is being setup and one of the flaps was compressed against its fellow upright and bent until cracked :( I think that it can be avoided at all if the flaps were built from two pieces like first spoiler is.

Beautiful machine, unbelievable technology and performance. Hard to believe US pilots still flying their old rogallos. If Dustin and Jonny had been on these, the Open Distance Record would be 700 miles. The real advantage of a rigid wing however, is not on record days, but the ability to turn average flying conditions into epic days.

Were those tows static line or payout? How high were you getting on tow? Thx

@nomoreidea Dinosaur, CO is in Northwestern Colorado just east of the Utah line.

@SubRandomv6 Depends on where you learn. Lessons very in both time & expense depending on your location. Lower elevations and those close to the ocean have thicker air and consistent mild winds making flying/learning easier (warm weather also helps). Then there's how much the cost of living is in the area. I would plan on $2000 for lessons but it will very. When ready you can get a used beginning glider & harness for under $2000 if you keep your (or your instructor/dealer's) eyes and ears open.
