Final polish on a straight razor blade. Wet sanded up to 12k, then I polished with Flitz using a wool ball and felt Dremel attachments at low/medium speed. Hi Joe , one of Erics greatest soap attributes is definitely the subtle fragrance, i shaved with the deer tallow this morning, and my bathroom still has a lingering sweet aroma . Sharp and smooth edges are a rarity 🎉 a slick lather helps enormously. 👌.

I have about a dozen razors and the Parker Solo Edge is one of my favorites. I like it much better than my Twig and my Thorn. I also prefer it over my Henson. I use Treet Platinum blades with it.

You did a nice job on that razor. It reminds me that I need to be taking pictures on the before and after of restoration. It gives some more context of the transformation of the razor from neglected to a useful tool. Did you mute the tip on that razor? It seems to be the style of a square point. Thanks for sharing.
I did mute the tip. There was actually a small chip in the tip, so I rounded it off.

I agree with you about developing a rapport if you are going to send out products to review. This is your brand you are developing and it has to be protected. Simply said, if you don't feel an individual doesn't align with your brand..... it's better not to have a business relationship on any level.

Something that I find very interesting and I don’t think you did by mistake is that you spent more than 1/3 of your time on that one stone setting a bevel. Until minute 10 you were working on that and the rest of the 15 minutes was on the remaining stones… without a properly set bevel you cant do much. Great work honing and I really enjoyed the music! I can tell you know your stuff my friend!

I wish I could hone as you do. How did you acquire the skill? Is there formal training or did you learn from working with master honers? Just curious how one picks up the skill. I would rather not destroy my straight blades.
@@Wittar7090 I just decided I wanted to learn. I watched a lot of videos, read a lot of articles, picked up a few stones and jumped into it. I started practicing on cheap eBay razors until I was comfortable. I’m still learning new techniques. Check out the channels I listed in the description. Very experienced razor honers that provide great tips and advice. Thank you for watching!
So far, so good with my 3x3x8 Vermont slate. I shaped 2 sides differently to accommodate my honing style. Nice “Subtle” music….😀

Very few vermont green stones find their way to West Sussex , what a lovely wide stone ❤. Hopefully a grat kind edge .... its gone midnight here Joe , im going to bed 🛌 soothing music is nice 🎶 .
