only thing I would recommend for this is if you have a compressor and blower, you blow out the holes for the sensor (expect some crap/crud and potentially oil), and blow out the holes for the starter motor. I did a starter motor on LS1, same position, looks the same and had a heap or oil everywhere, ended up torquing the bolts for the starter and 1 of the bolts pushed oil and crap into the hole and as I torqued it to spec, it cracked the entire casting of the thread (part of the block), so the starter motor ended up held in with 1 bolt instead of 2. real pain in the ass, every time I cranked the motor was a pray to the car-gods that the single holding bolt did it's job...

I found it just to be better to remove the upper radiator hose. Jut remove the 2 bolts to the water pump and tie it out the way. Also definitely disconnect the battery. I disconnected the negative terminal. And take a wire brush to the wire terminal to clean it up before you install it

So why have i been tokd thaf if i cahnge the crankshaft position sensor i will have to get fhe relearn procedure done? My wife's car, 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, bad crankshaft position sensor. I can replace it easy, but don't wanna chance it and it not being able to start afterwards.
