I just wanna say I appreciate your marauder/under the Mayo response video. It’s to the point where fanboys have a cult obsession with this enemy and I never understood it. The marauder always gave me “Hugo wants to insert Sekiro in Doom” vibes, except it’s way too simple and boring compared to sekiro. It’s not a matter of difficulty either I think I’ve probably died to the marauder the least out of any demon. Anyway, since the comments are disabled on that video just wanted to agree a bit , I hate the marauder the most btw

Once I learnt about the prosthetic weakness of the bosses it got real fun. Like how the beheaded ape is weak to the spear. parry the last slam, then stab his neck with the spear the centipede will appear and that attack will drain half his posture bar.

I understand that you'll get a shit load of hate for your marauder video but to disable comments isn't a good way to further the discussion. Seems like a catch 22 situation when it comes to difficulty. The higher the bar to entry, the less inclusive the game becomes. That sucks, no doubt about it. The lower the bar, the less depth and engagement, which also sucks. For me, Doom Eternal and Sekiro are very bold in trying to scratch a more niche itch in the AAA space. Absolutely nothing wrong with games like Destiny or Dynasty Warriors but it's easy to see why folks care about preserving design with less market potential. I hope I'm making sense. I didn't go out of my way to find any marauder criticism videos, the algorithm seems to be blessing you lol.

Great vid! Somehow never noticed the correlation between the clapping in 26 and the clapping in Komm Süßer Tod despite having seen both NGE and EOE countless times lol. I also highly recommend checking out the manga if you haven't, it has an interesting take on the story.

The discrepancy between the endings seem like a pretty feminist message. Like how society encourages independence is guys and discourages it in girls. Could be read into direct critique of how much Anno really grew sick of the Eva fandom’s interpretation of his work and its demand to force him into making more of it and thinking even more about Schopenhauer’s philosophy. Which I’d recommend taking in as small doses as possible, since it’s bitter as all hell and takes a long time to stomach. The urge to life is not beautiful, and is often extremely similar to urges that are destructive, if not identical to it. Life is horrifying and so is death, but death is inevitable. Letting go can feel exhilarating, though that exhilaration high runs out pretty fast and leads to a much more miserable down. It is not the right choice to make as long as one can choose almost anything else. The nuanced message that despite being defined by your interactions with the world, the world is not an instrument to make your self be better or feel better. We are tossed into a world that we cannot help but judge and obsess over being judged by, and we want to make this judgement good. Not only by how others judge us, but also by how we judge ourselves. Some people interpreted the solution to be to ignore the existence of everyone outside of ourselves, ignoring the inescapable need for human interaction, but the distance between human beings being shattered into complete agreement without any tension to move towards at all will simply leave us without goals other than awaiting a necessary end. Honestly, "but there is a lore reason" shouldn't even be needed. Lore is what the designers typically came up after the gameplay already exists and needs story justification, so of course, there's a lore reason in the end. Doesn't really improve the mechanics! Great video.
