@@goodmanfishing I guess my main confusion is should I spend 1000 or are the batteries that are half that just as good, I’m looking at 36 volt batteries for my trolling motor

@@scotwcates I've not seen a strong case for $1,000 name brand batteries lately. I have a LiTime 36v that tested at 57Ah and should have Bluetooth soon

@@briannelson7591 I've not had a LH reel, but I would be surprised if they changed the threads for the retrieve variant. You could look up the part numbers for the nut or gear drive and compare the LH and RH part numbers for the same reel

In general none of the batteries shared are rated for cranking applications. In most cases a different BMS is required and self-heating is preferred.

@@vincecarluccio5018 I'd say customer support has a bit to play into it. You can call Battle Born, MillerTech, etc and talk to someone. That does cost money. So does sponsoring professionals to some extent. All of the cells being used right now are sourced from China. Imported battery cells have tariffs applied to them, which further adds to the cost disadvantage of the US-based assemblers. Lately, China assembled batteries overall is pretty darn good. It was hit or miss a year or two ago. More features have come on as well, like Bluetooth.

What type of feedback are you looking for? Since they sent me the battery, per the FTC, the paid content tag must be added to the video. Outside of that, the shared testing and functional use in the video have no requirements between myself and GoldenMate. There is no "payment" for me to say this is good, or bad. I test the batteries, use them, and share my experience.

@@goodmanfishing You get any kick backs through the links if someone purchases? As far as original question, I'd like to see someone who didn't get a free battery and do a review. Someone with no link in bio. Feedback about the whole process and ownership. When you get stuff free small things/issues are easily forgotten bc there is no regret. Also getting free doesn't mean it is a need. No need then no use. A lot of things work great for a day or two. What about a month later of continual usage? Etc...

@jjcc2192 pretty much pennies. As far as the long term reviews. I started there, but there's only so many batteries a person needs and as you know the purchase price isn't cheap. It would take 10's of thousands of views to recoup that out of pocket expense, once monetized from YT. I do cycle through batteries fairly regularly, i have not ran into issues that get easily forgotten. Perhaps lucky on that. I do understand where you're coming from, be sure to post up some content on whichever battery you go with! 👍

@@goodmanfishing Yea, I get ya. I just wish they sent some batteries to some random boat/fishing YT'ers so people could see some daily use on them and feedback. Marketed as a trolling motor battery, so lets see some back to back 8 hour days of trolling. Instead I'm seeing videos of people saying the same thing about this battery as the last 4-5 batteries they got for free, and just after a few days of messing with it. Just seems disingenuous, and suspicious the company doesn't want any real testing on CZcams done. Meanwhile Dakota is giving out similar batteries to pro fishers on live TV. Nothing to hide from them. Nothing against you, just annoying that the algorithm sends me 20+ ads a day for this battery, yet can't find anything on them minus some quick YT free-battery reviews.

@@goodmanfishing I bought one, using your code, to test. Any charger recommendations? This is my only lithium so don't need a fancy. Tried to read Goldenmate's website and it was less than helpful. Kept recommending their charger, of which is nowhere to be found.

If I recall correctly, what is shared in the video is per the FO installation process.

@@bdd1469 nah, not necessarily. Maximum capacity isn't everything! I do like that group 24 size of the LiTime 👍

@@sciglassblower over the dozens of LiFePO4 batteries, none of them have had a resting voltage of over 13.3-13.4. 14.6 is the charging voltage, but not the resting voltage of a fully charged battery.

@@goodmanfishing You are correct, but your meter needs to know when the battery is full. Your lithium charging system should be charging the lithium battery to 14.2 or so. The meter should be set to 14v to know when the battery is actually full. If your float is 14v or 14.2, which is recommended by trusted sources, your meter will not start counting down the amp hours until you drop below 14v and have current coming from the batteries. If you have your float set to 13.7v, which some chargers do, the meter will still not start showing reduced SOC until you start taking amperage out of the battery. Either way you should always be charging lithium to 14v+ and the meter should be set to 14v so it knows when the batteries are full.
