      @@johnleahu9503 Hi John, thanks for commenting. It is hard to tell as I haven’t used this axe much. Right away I can tell this one is better for limbing with a wider cutting edge and thinner profile. I have used the Tuatahi camp axe allot and in my opinion it is the ultimate all round work axe so I would have to go with the Tuatahi in that respect. Thanks Liam

I have the choice to buy the Chopper from Axemen or the Camp axe from Tuatahi. I think you opened my eyes, and I will probably purchase the Chopper..... This fast growing Redgum is always a bit sticky with any axe. In general the Tuatahi camp axe is a very free axe and bounces right out of the cut on denser wood. Just a bit sticky in this particular tree but definitely does the job well. Thanks for commenting, it’s much appreciated

    • @Mizone505

      @@liamturner9568 no worries liam. Being a west aussie we dont have the wide variety of different timbers that the east coast does. But karri can be bloody hard and its well known amongst log choppers that jarrah is very hard as well.

    • @liamturner9568
      @liamturner9568 Před měsícem

      I have heard that out west the timber is very tough. I have worked with Jarrah a bit and it is definitely very dense and hard. It really depends where it is grown. This particular tree was grown in a forest in the hills so it grew fast and tall. Redgum that is grown in the Mallee is a lot tougher and harder. Every tree is different and some axe work better in certain timber

    Both axes seemed to do really well. The Sneddens looks to have more of a poll than most tassies. I assume this shifts the balance a bit. Any thoughts having swung them back to back?

    • @liamturner9568
      @liamturner9568 Před měsícem

      Hi mate, the poll is definitely much bigger on the sneddens. The poll doesn’t really come in the factory unless you are swinging horizontally such at felling and wedge banging. It doesn’t make a difference when chopping underhand as gravity is in your favour
