I paid a grand for a pair of Focal studio monitors years ago, and my $500 Tannoys sound clearer and crisper in the high end. The Focals have been exiled to guitar modeler duty and the Tannoys are where I go when I want to really hear the music.

I have Focal in the living room, JBL in the bedroom and my little Tannoy monitors at the computer have the clearest, sweetest top end.

I very much like my Reveal 802s. The Tannoy Gold 8 sounds very nice also. But I wonder why the Tannoy Gold 8 has a much narrower frequency range (by 20 odd khz) than the Reveal 802 - I don't think the range comparison between them was made in the same universe - in watching someone do a reference it did not appear that the sound drops off where Tannoy says the top of the range is. What am I missing? I know frequency range may not be that important as a spec but seeing that caught me off guard.

Ya'll becoming my favorite studio monitor...about to cop me some 7s hopefully can find a subwoofer to go along with it. Do you have any recommendations ya'll?

How to remove the buzz in these monitors on a quiet sound?!

after 10 years of happy using the 8D from tannoy i now replace them for the smaller Gold 5 . it sound so great that i wish i did it years ago ( the 8D wher to big for my living room 😎) best buy i did this year 👍🏻👍🏻🎶🎶🎹🎹

Dumb question. Do you hear music from your tannoy without touching the volume knob. I bought a single unit and when I play music over XLR or audio jack I could hear the music when the volume knob is at -24db. Which means I Have to make sure my volume from source is set low. Is it designed behave this way or there is an issue with my unit
