Fun fact Mr guy. Most of the time Nintendo land was in fact a pack in title. It was just more or less exclusive to the black Wii U. And it also sold less in total to the Wii U version of Mario kart 8 that wasn’t packed In with systems

Two things to note. Nintendoland was bundled with the premium version of the Wii U. Also, the pro controller analogs are both on top to be consistent with the gamepad. Great vid btw. I just bought a Wii U in 2024 for the first time because my wife’s roommates had one in college and she wanted one. I’d never had one before, but it’s a lot of fun so far.

i remember getting a wii u for christmas because i watched cobanermini456 play new super mario bros u and 6 year old me was BLOWN AWAY because of the squirrel suit so me and my brother begged and begged and begged for one. we finally got it and played the hell out of it. wind waker, new super mario bros u, 3d world, mario kart 8. we loved that thing. it has a special place in my heart. but now the gamepad broke and i can’t play it. luckily all of my childhood games are on my switch now (except wind waker). when i have more disposable income my first purchase will be a wii u (with virtual console games). i love that thing

Nintendo’s poor marketing doesn’t make the Wii U a bad console. There were issues for sure, but I’m glad the Wii U is getting some love. Without it, we wouldn’t have the Switch (second best selling Nintendo console of all time).

It is funny how Luigi evolved. There is like 4 different Luigi: - Bardakoff's Luigi is the embodiment of the little brother, something you would think Toad would sound like. But to be honest, I like this carefree joyful version. - Martinet's Luigi's first version is the shy and somehow sound pissed. Like, a father who would participate in an activity he doesn't like and fake being happy so that his children have fun. I guess that is why I always felt Mario Kart 64's Luigi odd inbetween the more energetic characters in the roster. - Smash Bros has an interesting take. For the early iterations, they took Martinet's Mario but speed up the voice, converging with Bardakoff's take on the "little brother" thing. *THEN,* they turned Luigi into a weird depressive guy with unwilling expression when doing move, or the Negative Zone Final Smash. That is an odd characterization! Probably the one I find the most interesting. - The definitive one: Martinet's Luigi's last version is a joyful but scaredy-cat type of character, thanks to Luigi Mansion. This new take was interesting but now feels like... too "corporate" or too "standardized" if that makes sense? But I kind of like it, even if they really want him to make a "looser" sometimes (why?). During the Wii era, I got the feeling he was portrayed more like a weird uncle of some sort.

i still play this game every day, i may not be good at making stuff but i enjoy the game to its fullest

The three characters I mainly use are Diddy, Drumstick, and T.T. Timber and Banjo have the best jingles though. The music in this game is amazing.

I'm a diehard defender. My mum has the windwaker edition n i played some skyward sword on it. loved it. had the wii too but the wii u, also with minish cap was better. i gotta disagree with you on one thing tho, i loved twilight princess on the wii

just a recommendation (a very late one also) but do not use a usb stick but instead a proper external hard drive

I loved my Wii U back then. Took it with me everywhere and spend hours gaming on it. Although, I wasn't so into the vWii on it, mainly because I was never allowed to use any TV screen and playing on the Gamepad alone wasn't possible (still isn't, even with Homebrew - but hopefully one day). There is a setup with the Gamepad as the "TV screen", but without anything to hold it, it kept falling over and since many Wii games want you wagle that Remote or point it at the sensor bar, it was quite uncomfortable to play anything. There are Wii VC Injections that allow you to use the Gamepad - which is amazing - but I'd still prefer to be able to control everything on my System with it (mainly the Wii Menu itself) and have access to those controls without needing to specifically inject them into every game that allows that...

I just have to say this and I realize i'm 7 months late to this video but here are 2 things BETTER about the Wii U than the Switch 1. The Wii U Had its own web browser 2. You didn't need a frickin internet connection every time you wanted to start up a downloaded game Nintendo is looking for ways to make the switch better, there ya go nintendo.

Fun fact, Nintendo Land is a pack in title with the black Wii U That version was a more expensive version as it comes with more storage, and extra little goodies like a kick stand for the gamepad, a charging stand for the gamepad, a stand for the Wii U, and a physical copy of Nintendo Land. It's the version I got back in 2013-14 and boy howdy I had fun! And not to mention the Minecraft Comunity on that thing! Even after the shut down me and The Bois still hang out on Discord to this day! 💙

6:44 I noticed that none of the batteries where original because the original one is smaller than both of those so that means that at some point in that game pads life the old owners replaced the batteries

It caught my eye all the way back when it came out, even though I didn’t start playing video games until recently as an adult, and it’s the Zelda game I’ve always been most keen on experiencing for myself.
