What inspired the decision to directly connect primary and secondary hulls?

I just received mine today. The latest version is USB Type C. I was glad to know they did that finally. It is a bummer they didn't paint the neck or the underside, but I guess I can live with that. Overall, this is a nice piece. Where else are you going to go, to get a Bluetooth speaker in the fashion of the Enterprise D?? I recently chatted with Fametek, and I believe they are working on Voyager as the next project. I gave them the suggestion to make the Enterprise E, but they have no plans for that at this time. 😢 Fametek hopes to expand their ship lineup in the future. Let's hope that becomes a reality! Great review by the way! Oh btw, the newer version comes with a black smokey colored stand. It is no longer white.

Great review! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just one little correction. You mentioned that the Nacelle grills were missing detail. If this was a representation of the production version of the Enterprise, that would be true. However, only after the pilot episodes were filmed, did they add detail to the grills. Prior to that, they were painted a light color just like on this replica. Once again, Diamond Select got it right!

Missing the Enterprise-A is a real screw-up. You need 2 refits, one with NCC-1701-A decals... Somebody at AMT really brain-farted.

That chair is huge, with a hit of acid, a joint, some Cheetos, two cans of sprite, and six to twelve shots of tequila, I just might be able to shrink down to size and settle in to the captains chair. Now all I have to do is buy one of the captains chairs and find all that shit and I'm in business.

I finally bought one on Ebay today for $35 best offer bid, new, free shipping, so approximately $38 out the door. That's not bad, it'll be a nice companion piece to my Tomy Enterprise when I finally get it out of the box for display.

Some of Diamond Select Toys SUCKS , Yup the Enterprise D Diamond Select Toys Sucks too because they use Magnets to keep the saucer in place, what if the Magnets fails wont Stick any longer, Thats y The ALL New 2023 Playmates Enterprise D is way Better

Love these ships but the stands suck. I can't say it any nicer than that.

With a little more effort it would certainly have been possible to illuminate the windows. Unfortunately, there is not a single pre-built model in the entire Star Trek modeling world that manages to illuminate the windows reasonably well. A pity.

I just recently picked up some of the the BSG Eaglemoss starships, including this Classic Viper and I absolutely LOVE this model. My only minor gripe is that the framing on the cockpit canopy is merely painted on instead of sculpted. Aside from that, I'm absolutely thrilled to have this piece. I've got the Classic Cylon Raider and the Blood and Chrome Raider and am waiting for my Mark II Viper to arrive. Thanks for reviewing these! Looks great, but that "Kirk to all decks" sound effect is wrong, it's the Bosun's whistle, it goes higher in the middle not lower. Major geek observation but important if you're a fan and you're spending that amount!

The decal on the side of the saucer compared to the Art Asylum model, which look to be to scale, are nearly twice as large on the Eaglemoss ship.

My only complaint about this product is that when I am listening to music or a book it starts to skip over words. Not sure what causes this but I have a Bluetooth speaker that if I use it I have to plug it into my phone.

man. i wish Eaglemoss did Space above and Beyond before they went under. would love to get the Chig ships and the Hammerhead. they would have been sweet. PS. i actually prefer the Modern 1st cylon war version of the Raider.

The few I have, mistakes seen. I use to build plastic models to ad my own details, always do. Enterprise D model I did detail work, upon assembly, some plastic parts of the body are a bit warped, no pun intended, some misalignment, but I guess it's the mass production as a cause for those little mistakes.

I found one without the rust ring but still has the grid lines on it and i do like it now its not on there czcams.com/video/UrSYARKBVjE/video.html

I would pick the bigger one but not the hd version as i don't like the added grid lines on the dish and the silly rust ring what on earth where they thinking of

What’s messed up is my Hallmark Star Trek ornaments have more accurate paint colors and details, lights and quality control! Ridiculous for how much they charge for those die cast.
