F100 Tires and Rims - Too much tire or just right?
zhlédnutí 81Před 28 dny
What do you think? Too much tire? Too high of a ride height? Or do you think it is just fine? I put on some 236/60/18 inch tires and I am not sure if I went with too high of a sidewall. 1969 F100.
OSB and primer on the garage walls. Do I like it?
zhlédnutí 147Před měsícem
I am putting some OSB on one garage wall and priming it, to see if I like this, or if I should use something else, like sheetrock. Nice thing about OSB or Wafer board is that you can screw things to it, without needing a stud behind it.

How did you line the truck up afterwards
Looks great 👍

My 67 has the leaf spring eyes reversed and a few leafs removed from the previous owner and it tucks the tire just a little bit but the front end is just a little high now so I ordered some lowering springs to drop the front end about 2-3 inches. I just hope it dose not mess with the camber much because of the stock I-beams. I have seen people use the dream beams but I think they are just way to expensive for a 3 inch drop.
@@mauricioescobedo3354 Sounds like you have it all under control. I used ford explorer coil springs on my last one, 1970 F250, to lower the front. It didn't mess with the camber too much. Reversed leaf springs huh.. interesting.
Looks awesome bud. I’m hoping to get my 67 on the road tomorrow morning. Been working on it off and on when ever I have time. Would like to do a short bed conversion some day but the truck is pretty clean as is and I kinda feel bad about chopping it up. lol!
@@mauricioescobedo3354 Awesome, yes, chopping a perfectly good long bed down is hard to justify.
Would you happen to know what truck that bench seat came out off ??
@@mauricioescobedo3354 I believe it is a seat from a 92 - 96 f150. It's not pretty, but it sure is comfy.
I think those tires look great, I would just lower the rear and the front just enough to tuck the tires all the way around. Good job man truck looks great.
@@mauricioescobedo3354 thank you, I appreciate your input.
I have a 2022 Ranger that will not go into "one wheel" drive mode in the rear end (back) It stays in the mode of both tires locked in together all the time despite the switch on the dash being in the "single tire" pull mode.
@@Hammerback0 sounds like the locker mechanism. I have heard of issues, but have not looked into any of them, to know enough to advise you on how to proceed.
Looks good 😊😊
Thank you
Stock tires were 235/75/15 and looked ok, but I think these look a bit better.
I have the same issue with 2006 range rover. same exact
I still have the squeaking, if anyone wanted an update. I have not tried to address it again.. yet.
Thank you to my brother Marty for helping us paint the bed. He put in a lot of work.
I have had some issues with the brakes, after this video. I have one of the brakes grabbing in the front. Arrggg
OSB, Sheetrock, Metal Siding, Barn wood are all things that I contemplated.
from backing into the water
But, I never back into any water
I use 18 wheel ratchet (welded 4 on 16 foot trailer),I use 3 inch nylon webbing
Nice
Nothing wrong with that points ignition . If you have to pump the gas and crank forever your power valve is bad and I would check for any exhaust restrictions the y pipe could be a big one .
Thank you. I replaced the power valve, but that doesn't mean its not bad.
my moms truck is doin the same noise but supposly on the driver rear side changed out twice pads & rotors and caliper and nothing
Well, that is frustrating.. Mine was that little clip causing the noise.
I have had 3 Pertronix kits fail on me and sent me home on a tow truck! Yes I have the correct coil and wiring. Pertronix are now made in Taiwan and have serious quality control problems! They are junk!
Oh no, I sure hope I don't encounter that. Did you go with a different brand?
thank you for making this video saved me time wondering if it worked on the inside.
Glad I could help
My wife’s is doing the same thing
Maybe the same clip issue?
It's been 9 months now, any updates?
Yes, the dash has faded a bit, but everything else is still nice and shiny. I am still happy that I did this. The truck sits outside every day, so it's exposed to the elements. And the windows are not tinted, but I am going to get them tinted. That may extend the life even further.
@jerrysprojects7653 any peeling or cracking on the dash? Also, was that hard plastic, or was it a soft vinyl?
What tool box is this and what size
It's a husky brand tool box made for a small pickup.
Lol its funny people always assume different carb will solve there problems. Instead of jetting n timing or aka "tuning"
I sure wanted to test with another carb, just for troubleshooting, but I did not have another one. But if I did, I would have tried it. :)
Looks great 😅😅
Thanks 😅
The motorcycle looks great, good job
Thanks!
Not Sure if the problem is fixed but, this looks like an Autolite 2100 Carb (Might be wrong) and I was having the same issue, it was due to the spring that holds the float in place not being hooked up right (it should "click" onto the port that the needle rests in) and so the float itself would lift up off of the hinges and gas would come flowing out.
Thank you , all these tips are helpful.
Had the same hesitation ... idle was set a tad too low and needed my idle air screws turned out 1 3/4 ...
Thank you, 1 3/4 turned out huh... Good to know.
Not sure why you didn't go through steel, it would be easy to weld in some steel if location was a problem, I mean d rings to wood? Not very strong (strong being relative like accident strong) probably fine for everyday traveling, not for me I would definitely bolted through to steel. js
You are right, securing it to the steel would be stronger, for sure.
Why not just cut the coils instead of buying new ones? It takes a couple minutes
I could have cut the stock coils, but worried it would mess up the camber. Supposedly these coils lower it and retain the camber. So I thought win / win.
@@jerrysprojects7653 the camber only changes because the spring’s height is changed. Cutting the coils changes the height just the same as putting shorter springs in.
@@yeboscrebo4451 thank you , I may try cutting the next ones I do.
@@yeboscrebo4451 thank you , I may try cutting the next ones I do.
What’s wrong with a little rake? I think it looks good, give it a more aggressive stance, with a little rake. Plus, you don’t want to be saggin’ when you load up the bed.
Yes, it does give it a more aggressive stance, for sure.
Looking great!!
Thanks
Are you living in Boise? I hear Boise state football on your radio in the background.

I would recommend the MSD High Energy Ignition for your 1970 Ford F250 Camper Special.
Thanks, I will look that up
Would u recommend same for a 72 f350 with a 390?
Update? I'm experiencing the same problem. My neighbors, coworkers, everyone keeps telling me I need new brakes, but I know that isn't the problem.
Yes, it is so loud.
Update: The brake squeak is back to as bad as it was before I started. So I am going to have to do something else, if I want this to go away.
It says to not use it inside. So don’t complain of the smell. It also says to use it with proper ventilation. Duh.
LOL, Who reads through instructions...
@@jerrysprojects7653 Hey i want to use it on the interior so i wanted to ask if you find any problems so far like smells or allergies or any kind of irritations on eyes or skin etc. ?
@@jerrysprojects7653 Did the smell go away? I have a 2009 ford f150 and the dash & and door panels are in bad shape. I tried Meguiar's and it didn't work well at all. Great video, thanks for posting.
@@ARealPatriot55 yes, the smell only lasted a few days and then it was just shiny. For me, it has worked pretty well. It's been 6 months and still looks great.
How long does it stay sticky at the interior? I’m thinking of doing this to the inside of my truck as well. Thank you@@jerrysprojects7653
Good good nice
Thanks
How is it looking now? Is it working well, I’m thinking of doing the same!
It still looks great, truck has been sitting outside in the sun since I put it on, no change so far.
Have you had any problems at all with the ride after you installed the lift kit?
No problems at all. I just took it out last weekend and it handles great.
'promosm'
Ha..
did the squeaking come back? f150 are notorious for that. def check your parking brake shoe as well. they are known to seize up and cause a squeak. i'll be lubing up my brake pad connection points today when i replace the parking brakes.
I had a slight squeal last night, but so far it's been pretty quiet. I didn't show on the video, but I did pull the rotor and check the parking break, they seemed fine.
Update - 10/30/23 Squeak is back.
Well good luck, always curious about the back story, did you buy a wreck or you wrecked it? Just makes the video more interesting when you inform details. Great video!
Hello. Yes, I bought it totaled and this video does not include that context. I could do better explaining the back story.
I wish you showed how to put the pin and spring back on
Dang, Yes, I should have showed that, sorry.
